New Hope may refer to:
Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise, centered on a film series created by George Lucas. It depicts the adventures of various characters "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away".
The first film in the series, Star Wars (later subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope), was released on May 25, 1977 by 20th Century Fox and became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon. It was followed by the similarly successful sequels The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983); these three films constitute the original Star Wars trilogy. A prequel trilogy was later released between 1999 and 2005, which received a more mixed reaction from critics and fans, compared to the original trilogy. All seven films were nominated for or won Academy Awards, and were commercial successes, with a combined box office revenue of $4.38 billion, making Star Wars the fourth highest-grossing film series. The series has spawned an extensive media franchise—the Star Wars expanded universe—including books, television series, computer and video games, and comic books, resulting in significant development of the series's fictional universe. Star Wars also holds a Guinness World Records title for the "Most successful film merchandising franchise." In 2012, the total value of the Star Wars franchise was estimated at USD $30.7 billion, including box-office receipts as well as profits from their video games and DVD sales.
The Death Star is a fictional mobile space station and galactic superweapon appearing in the Star Wars science-fiction franchise created by George Lucas. Crewed with an estimated population of 1.7 million military personnel and 400,000 droids, this dwarf planet-sized fortress was designed for massive power projection capabilities, capable of destroying an entire planet with one blast from its superlaser.
Although details, such as the superlaser's location, shifted between different concept models during production of Star Wars, the notion of the Death Star being a large, spherical space station over 100 kilometers in diameter was consistent in all of them. The Death Star model was created by John Stears. The buzzing sound counting down to the Death Star firing its superlaser comes from the Flash Gordon serials. Portraying an incomplete yet powerful space station posed a problem for Industrial Light & Magic's modelmakers for Return of the Jedi. Only the front side of the 137-centimeter model was completed, and the image was flipped horizontally for the final film. Both Death Stars were depicted by a combination of complete and sectional models and matte paintings.
Kevin Patrick Smith (born August 2, 1970) is an American filmmaker, actor, comedian and public speaker as well as a comic book writer, author, and podcaster.
He came to prominence with the low-budget comedy Clerks (1994), which he wrote, directed, co-produced, and acted in as the character Silent Bob of stoner duo "Jay & Silent Bob". Jay and Silent Bob have appeared in Smith's follow-up films Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back which were mostly all set in his home state of New Jersey. While not strictly sequential, the films frequently featured crossover plot elements, character references, and a shared canon described by fans as the "View Askewniverse", named after his production company View Askew Productions, which he co-founded with Scott Mosier.
Smith also directed and produced films such as the buddy cop action comedy Cop Out (2010), the horror film Red State (2011), and the horror comedy Tusk (2014), the first film in the True North trilogy.

The fantastic original opening scene from Star Wars, way back in 1977. Little do some folks know, the title was renamed to "Episode IV: A New Hope" in the theatrical re-release in 1981. This was after the first or second draft for Empire was written and Lucas and co decided to make the films episodic in nature, as a tribute to the old serials from the 30's like Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. Perhaps that was how it was originally intended, but Fox thought it should be named Star Wars, in case there was never a sequel. . (NOTE) This video is not the actual original footage, restored or anything. It is in fact a hybrid of the original title crawl with some minor color correction and then I spliced in the Blu-ray footage, as for the most part, its unaltered. Rebel assault on the Death Star in the original Star Wars. Perfect conclusion to a great film. This is one of the few examples where the Special Edition certainly improves on the original film. The added shots are welcome in my book. Star Wars Blu-ray 2011

A new hope will inspire a feeling as needed as air.
Maybe tonight I'll wash these hands of the past.
You'd give to me the things I need, you'd take me for what I am.
You could be my everything, you're my last chance.
Under the stars, tell me what I need to hear.
We'll remember the ancient days, when hearts had no appear.
Tales of the best romances, stories of a thousand dances.
Rekindling when thoughts and hearts were free.
I'll steal your heart, and I'll give you mine.
Together, we will take back time.
Time that was lost in the battle we fought
to find true love and the ones that we sought.
