Adolph Zukor and William Fox, Hungarian-born Hollywood studio founders, played a great part in organization of the american film making. Only a few people know that both of them were born in Zemplén of Northern Hungary. Zukor was born in Ricse, Fox was born in Tolcsva. Hopefully this two villages will be places of pilgrimage for film makers of the world in the immediate future.

A Magyar Hollywood Tanács 2017. évi első programját a Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén megyei Ricse nagyközségben tartotta, ahol 144 éve, 1873. január 7-én látta meg a napvilágot Adolph Zukor, aki a legnagyobb amerikai filmstúdió, a Paramount Pictures alapítójaként, majd elnökeként vált világhírűvé. A Magyar Hollywood Tanács és a Ricsei Önkormányzat közös rendezvényén először Vécsi István polgármester méltatta a község nagy szülöttjének életművét. Ezt követően Bokor Balázs, a Magyar Hollywood Tanács elnöke mondott üdvözlő beszédet, amelyben kiemelte, hogy a nemrégiben megalakult civil szervezet kiemelt figyelmet fordít a ricsei származású filmmogulra.
Zukor volt az, aki először alkalmazott úgy neves színészeket (Gloria Swanson, Mary Pickford, Pola Negri, John Barrymore, Gary Cooper), hogy azok kizárólag az ő cégének dolgozhattak. Ezzel Zukor megalkotta a filmsztár fogalmát. Bokor Balázs, Vécsi István és George Matsik, a Los Angeles-i Amerikai Magyar Napló főszerkesztője megkoszorúzta Adolph Zukor emléktábláját, amely a róla elnevezett községi művelődési központban található.
A születésnapi emlékrendezvény a tanács elnökének előadásával folytatódott, majd a helyi, II. Rákóczi Ferenc Általános Iskola tanulóiból alakult csapatok Zukor-vetélkedőn vettek részt. A nagy érdeklődéssel és váratlan, színpadias történésekkel is kísért versenyen a négy csapat komoly lexikális tudásról tett tanúbizonyságot. Bokor Balázs MHT-elnök a díjátadáson azt hangsúlyozta, hogy civil szervezetének a legnagyobb megelégedést az szolgálja, amikor Adolph Zukor szülőhelyének fiataljai fontosnak tartják a nagy előd életútját, annak példájából maguk is tanulni szeretnének, és érdeklődésükkel jelzik, mennyire büszkék e kiemelkedő világhíresség magyarságára.
Ricse lakossága, fiatalok és idősek, a helyi iskola, az önkormányzat bizonyította, hogy az országos jelentőségű civil szervezet, a Magyar Hollywood Tanács intézményes segítségével készek és képesek a község nagy szülöttjének emlékét megfelelően ápolni és széles körben bemutatni.

Adolph Zukor
Adolph Zukor (January 7, 1873 – June 10, 1976) was an American film mogul and founder of Paramount Pictures.
Early life
Zukor was born to a Jewish family in Ricse, Hungary, which was then a part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. In 1889, at the age of 16, he promised Mella Baumoel, a girl almost 4 years older than he, that he would send for her one-day and they would be married, and he emigrated to the United States. Like most immigrants, he began modestly. When he first landed in New York, he stayed with his family and worked in an upholstery shop. A friend got him a job as an apprentice at a furrier. Mella arrived in the U.S. too late to wed him; they never spoke again.
Zukor stayed there for two years. When he left to become a "contract" worker, sewing fur pieces and selling them himself, he was nineteen years old and an accomplished designer. He was young and adventuresome, and the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago drew him to the Midwest. There he started a fur business. In the second season of operation, Zukor's Novelty Fur Company expanded to 25 men and opened a branch.

Charlton Heston
Charlton Heston (born John Charles Carter; October 4, 1923 – April 5, 2008) was an American actor and political activist.
As a Hollywood star he appeared in 100 films over the course of 60 years. He played Moses in the epic film, The Ten Commandments (1956), for which he received his first Golden Globe Award nomination. He also starred in Touch of Evil (1958) with Orson Welles; Ben-Hur, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor (1959); El Cid (1961); and Planet of the Apes (1968). He also starred in the films The Greatest Show on Earth (1952); Secret of the Incas (1954); The Big Country (1958); and The Agony and the Ecstasy (1965).
A supporter of Democratic politicians and civil rights in the 1960s, Heston later became a Republican, founding a conservative political action committee and supporting Ronald Reagan. Heston's most famous role in politics came as the five-term president of the National Rifle Association, from 1998 to 2003. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2003, he retired from both acting and the NRA presidency. Heston died on April 5, 2008, aged 84, from pneumonia.

A Magyar Hollywood Tanács 2017. évi első programját a Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén megyei Ricse nagyközségben tartotta, ahol 144 éve, 1873. január 7-én látta meg a napvilágot Adolph Zukor, aki a legnagyobb amerikai filmstúdió, a Paramount Pictures alapítójaként, majd elnökeként vált világhírűvé. A Magyar Hollywood Tanács és a Ricsei Önkormányzat közös rendezvényén először Vécsi István polgármester méltatta a község nagy szülöttjének életművét. Ezt követően Bokor Balázs, a Magyar Hollywood Tanács elnöke mondott üdvözlő beszédet, amelyben kiemelte, hogy a nemrégiben megalakult civil szervezet kiemelt figyelmet fordít a ricsei származású filmmogulra.
Zukor volt az, aki először alkalmazott úgy neves színészeket (Gloria Swanson, Mary Pickford, Pola Negri, John Barrymore, Gary Cooper), hogy azok kizárólag az ő cégének dolgozhattak. Ezzel Zukor megalkotta a filmsztár fogalmát. Bokor Balázs, Vécsi István és George Matsik, a Los Angeles-i Amerikai Magyar Napló főszerkesztője megkoszorúzta Adolph Zukor emléktábláját, amely a róla elnevezett községi művelődési központban található.
A születésnapi emlékrendezvény a tanács elnökének előadásával folytatódott, majd a helyi, II. Rákóczi Ferenc Általános Iskola tanulóiból alakult csapatok Zukor-vetélkedőn vettek részt. A nagy érdeklődéssel és váratlan, színpadias történésekkel is kísért versenyen a négy csapat komoly lexikális tudásról tett tanúbizonyságot. Bokor Balázs MHT-elnök a díjátadáson azt hangsúlyozta, hogy civil szervezetének a legnagyobb megelégedést az szolgálja, amikor Adolph Zukor szülőhelyének fiataljai fontosnak tartják a nagy előd életútját, annak példájából maguk is tanulni szeretnének, és érdeklődésükkel jelzik, mennyire büszkék e kiemelkedő világhíresség magyarságára.
Ricse lakossága, fiatalok és idősek, a helyi iskola, az önkormányzat bizonyította, hogy az országos jelentőségű civil szervezet, a Magyar Hollywood Tanács intézményes segítségével készek és képesek a község nagy szülöttjének emlékét megfelelően ápolni és széles körben bemutatni.

Snow White (1916) is an American silent film made by Famous Players-Lasky Corporation and produced by Adolph Zukor and Daniel Frohman. The film was directed by J. Searle Dawley, from the Grimm brothers story. Winthrop Ames adapted it to the screen from his play "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" that he had written under the pseudonym "Jessie Graham White" and had produced in 1912 at his Little Theatre on Broadway. This film was Walt Disney's inspiration for "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" when he saw the Marguerite Clark version as a 15-year-old newsboy.

Büszkéknek kell lennünk az olyan filmikonokra, amilyen Adolph Zukor is volt, és minden álszerénység nélkül hirdetnünk kell magyar gyökereiket. Különösen azért, mert maguk is büszkék voltak erre életük végéig.

A “Közönség soha sem téved” címmel kerekasztal beszélgetésre került sor a Művelődési Ház teltházas színháztermében. Először Kerényi László "Zukor - Ricse, Fox - Tolcsva" című filmjét tekinthette meg a közönség. Rófusz Ferenc visszaemlékezett arra, hogy 1981-ben az akkori hatóságok nem tették lehetővé Hollywoodba utazását, így Oscár-díját egy, a nevében jogtalanul fellépő pártfunkcionárius vette át. A legmagasabb nemzetközi elismeréssel rendelkező magyar animációs művész elismerően szólt a mai magyar filmes tehetségekről és reményét fejezte ki, hogy sok nemzetközi sikert érnek majd el. Csupó Gábor kiemelte, hogy nem lényeges a művész szülőhelye. A sikert csak az határozza meg, hogy hisz-e magában és hisz-e álmaiban. Bunyik Béla fesztiváligazgató a legújabb magyar Oscar-díj kapcsán azt szögezte le, hogy a magyar filmművészet számára ismét egy fontos ösztönzőről van szó, ami sokat segít a további sikerek elérésében. Bokor Balázs kiemelte, hogy “Az én Hollywoodom” című könyvében olvasható számtalan történet Hollywood magyar vonatkozásairól szinte tálcán kínálta a "Magyar Hollywood Túra" létrehozásának és megszervezésének szükségességét. A Túra további állomásai számos hollywoodi magyar emléke előtt tisztelegnek majd.
A kerekasztal beszélgetést követően Adolph Zukor-emlékfát ültettek a Művelődési Ház előtt, majd emléksétán keresték fel Zukor szülőházát, az általa a községnek adományozott Juhász-kutat és a zsidó temetőben, Adolph Zukor édesanyjának sírját.

Nagy közönség érdeklődés mellett megkezdődött a "Magyar Hollywood Túra 2016." egyedülálló programsorozata. 2016. június 10-én délelőtt fél tizenegykor Vécsi István, Ricse Nagyközség polgármestere ünnepi beszédével megnyitotta az Adolph Zukor halála 40. évfordulója alkalmából rendezett megemlékezést a Ricse-i Adolph Zukor Művelődési Házban. A polgármester hangsúlyozta, hogy a község szülöttje 1976-ban,103 éves korában világhírű filmesmogulként hunyt el. Ricsét tízezer kilométer választja el Hollywoodtól, ahol Adolph Zukor 1912-ben megalapította a legrégebbi, azóta is folyamatosan működő filmstúdiót, a Paramount Pictures-t. Bokor Balázs nagykövet, a "Magyar Hollywood Túra" kitalálója és szervezője kijelentette, hogy továbbra is méltatlanul keveset tudunk a Magyarországról elszármazott, világhírűvé vált személyiségekről, köztük a hollywoodi filmvilág létrehozóiról, meghatározó szereplőiről. Büszkéknek kell lennünk az olyan filmikonokra, amilyen Adolph Zukor is volt, és minden álszerénység nélkül hirdetnünk kell magyar gyökereiket. Különösen azért, mert maguk is büszkék voltak erre életük végéig.

TIJ points out again that the American mind is Anglo-Saxon, not sensual enough for the “Oriental” Jewish mind. It concludes that the problem is racial (using the word four times in a short space); thus not a problem of morals, but of management. [In other words, need to remove the Jews.]

The “Kehillah” has the same meaning as “Kahal,” which was in control in the ghettos of the “old country," has courts today in NY City, and signifies “community,” “assembly” and government – the Jewish form of government in the dispersion. In reality, the Kehillah is an alliance against the Gentiles.

Zukor-Fox Zemplén, the cradle of Hollywood
Made by Laszlo Kerenyi (Hungary) Adolph Zukor and William Fox, Hungarian-born Hollywood studio founders, played a great part in organization of the american film making. Only a few people know that both of them were born in Zemplén of Northern Hungary. Zukor was born in Ricse, Fox was born in Tolcsva. Hopefully this two villages will be places of pilgrimage for film makers of the world in the immediate future.

ZINKA MILANOV 1967 INTERVIEW
Zinka Milanov (May 17, 1906 – May 30, 1989) was a Croatian-born operatic spinto soprano who had a major career centered on the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. After finishing her education in Zagreb, Milanov made her debut in 1927 in Ljubljana as Leonora in Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore. From 1928 to 1936, she was the leading soprano of the Croatian National Theatre. In 1937, Milanov performed at the Metropolitan Opera for the first time, where she continued to sing until 1966. She also performed as a concert singer and was a noted vocal coach and teacher. Mlanov is the sister of the composer and pianist Božidar Kunc.

He talked about many Paramount Pictures' notables including Cecil B. DeMille, John Barrymore, and William Holden. He spoke about Paramount's interest in television and described the line-up of early shows on Paramount-owned KTLA. He described the televising and impact of the "Kathy Fiscus tragedy" which aired on KTLA in 1949. Lyles also talked about knowing and working with such television luminaries as Lucille Ball, Michael Landon, and DeForest Kelley. Lyles talked about his later associations with television as the producer of Here's Boomerand consulting producer of Deadwood. Lastly, Lyles talked about his association and friendship with Ronald Reagan, including his dedicated work for the Reagan Administration as advisor and liaison. The interview was conducted by Gary Rutkowski on August 30, 2005.
