Ishmael

Ishmael (Hebrew: יִשְׁמָעֵאל, Modern Yishma'el, Tiberian Yišmāʻēl ISO 259-3, Yišmaˁel; Greek: Ἰσμαήλ Ismaēl; Arabic: إسماعيل‎ ʾIsmāʿīl; Latin: Ismael) is a figure in the Tanakh and the Qur'an and was Abraham's first son according to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Ishmael was born to Abraham and Sarah's handmaiden Hagar (Genesis 16:3). According to the Genesis account, he died at the age of 137 (Genesis 25:17).

The Book of Genesis and Islamic traditions consider Ishmael to be the ancestor of the Ishmaelites and patriarch of Qaydār. According to Muslim tradition, Ishmael the Patriarch, and his mother Hagar, are said to be buried next to the Kaaba in Mecca.

Etymology

Cognates of Hebrew Yishma'el existed in various ancient Semitic cultures, including early Babylonian and Minæan. It is a theophoric name translated literally as "God (El) has hearkened", suggesting that "a child so named was regarded as the fulfillment of a divine promise".

Grup Vitamin

Grup Vitamin is a Turkish pop and pop rock band which make parody songs. The Grup Vitamin is composed of Emrah Anul, Selçuk Aksoy and Tolga Sünter. Previously Gökhan Semiz, Ercan Saatçi, İzel, Murat Uzunal, Sertaç Demirtaş and Ufuk Yıldırım were members of the band.

The band released its debut album, Bol Vitamin in 1990. The band's first cast members were Gökhan Semiz, Ufuk Yıldırım, Ercan Saatçi, İzel Çeliköz, Sertaç Demirtaş, Emrah Anul, Selçuk Aksoy and Murat Uzunal. After release of this album, Murat Uzunal left the band. The same year, İzel left the band. Murat Uzunal released his debut album "Yangın Var" in 1992

After this unexpected success of the first album, the band released Cezmi in 1991. After conflicts inside the band, it divided into two separate bands. The real Vitamin continued with Gökhan Semiz, Selçuk Aksoy, Emrah Anul and Sertaç Demirtaş. At the same time, Ercan Saatçi and Ufuk Yıdırım started to perform in concerts using the name Vitamin. Debates about which the real Vitamin is started to exist. Ercan and Ufuk attended a morning show and lip synced one of Gökhan's songs. They mentioned the album as their solo album. Ercan and Ufuk gave up the name, because the Vitamin concept belonged to Gökhan Semizci. He and Ufuk changed their band's name to Uf-Er and release two albums, Vitamin Değil Şifa Niyetine in 1992 and Ebabil Kuştur in 1994. Then, this duo stopped doing this kind of music.

İsmail YK

Ismail YK, also known by his full name İsmail Yurtseven (born July 5, 1978, Hamm, Germany), is a Turkish Pop-Arabesque singer and composer. YK stands for Yurtseven Kardeşler, the group he was a member of at the start of his career.

Biography

İsmail YK is the youngest of five, including three older brothers and one older sister. Together they comprise the music group Yurtseven Kardeşler.

Period with Yurtseven Kardeşler

Yurtseven Kardeşler (literally the Yurtseven Brothers in Turkish), YK for short, was at the beginning an amateur band working through Germany where they used to reside. Between 1985 and 1987, they released two amateur albums and gained some attention. Their break came with an appearance in 1988 in German ZDF television channel's "Nachbarn in Europa" programme.

Yurtseven Kardeşler relatively successful albums included: Bir Tek Sen / Barış Olsun in 1998 with Akbaş Müzik label, Toprak in 2000 with Akbaş Müzik label and De Bana / Of Anam Of in 2001 with joint Akbaş Müzik/Türküola label.

Plot: A small, poor village leaning over high rocky mountains, facing the immense sea, flanked by olive yards. Villagers are simple and diligent people who struggle to cope with a harsh nature. Ömer, Yakup and Yildiz, three children of about 12,13 years old, just between childhood and youth, are the prominent characters in this movie of five times. Ömer, the son of the imam, wishes hopelessly for the death of his father. When he understands that wishful thinking does not have any concrete results, he begins to search for childish ways to kill his father. He shares his guilty thoughts with his friend Yakup. Children study in the village school consisting of only one classroom. Families show their gratitude to the young woman teacher by giving her presents -the bread they cook themselves, the milk of their own sheep. Yakup is in love with his teacher. He hides his guilty feelings even from his best friend Ömer. When some day he sees his father spying the teacher, he dreams, like Yakup, of killing his father. Yildiz both studies and tries to manage the household works imposed by her own mother. She tries to be a mother for her baby brother. On the other hand, she learns with irritation about the secrets of the relationship between men and women. Five times elapse. Children, oscillating between rage and guilt, grow up slowly. Ömer gives up killing his father. Stuck between love and hate, he cries desperately.

Plot: Ismail is out of work despite am obvious willingness to do almost anything to earn enough to provide for his family. He is too well educated for the jobs he hopes to find, but not well enough connected to find the work he is capable of doing. He joins the labour market (much like the colonial slave markets of the 18th century) daily, only to return to his beloved and beautiful wife demoralized and without money. His wife, her mother, and their baby are totally dependent on him, so he submits to two humiliating tasks: poisoning the local stray dogs and begging his father for part of his inheritance.
