This is so easy to make and delicious. When I saw how it looked once I had put it all together I wondered how it was going to turn out but it was beautiful with crunchy sides from the butter and nice and moist . I used tin pie apple and look forward to making this again with different fruits.

Had this for dessert and what a quick and easy recipe from start to finish. Already had main in the oven so this was a no brainer! Used a 400g tin of apples, which seemed enough and sprinkled with cinnamon before adding to the oven. Baked in a 20cm cake pan and I may have left it a bit too long but hubby and I enjoyed the chewy edges. Lovely in this cool weather. Served with cream and will be making again.

I had my doubts about this recipe when I first put it in the oven as it looked a little too 'messy'! However, I was pleasantly surprised with the result. The whole family loved it.

Made this again during a cold spell. I had forgotten how easy and delicious it was.
Intend to make it more often with different fruits. Lovely with custard or icecream.

Full marks for a recipe that is quick and easy to put together and one that makes good use of basic pantry staples. I used a tin of pie apples and sprinkled these with a little cinnamon sugar before proceeding with the recipe. Mine took 50 minutes to cook and I served it warm with ice-cream. I would say the quantity makes 5 generous servings which makes this recipe a good economical family dessert.
