Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (/ˈdɪzni/; December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He was a prominent figure within the American animation industry and throughout the world, and is regarded as a cultural icon, known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century. As a Hollywood business mogul, he and his brother Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company.
As an animator and entrepreneur, Disney was particularly noted as a filmmaker and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created numerous famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Disney himself was the original voice for Mickey. During his lifetime, he won 22 Academy Awards and received four honorary Academy Awards from a total of 59 nominations, including a record of four in one year, giving him more Oscar awards and nominations than any other individual in history. Disney also won seven Emmy Awards and gave his name to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the U.S., as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.
The multiplane camera is a special motion picture camera used in the traditional animation process that moves a number of pieces of artwork past the camera at various speeds and at various distances from one another. This creates a three-dimensional effect, although it is not actually stereoscopic.
Various parts of the artwork layers are left transparent, to allow other layers to be seen behind them. The movements are calculated and photographed frame-by-frame, with the result being an illusion of depth by having several layers of artwork moving at different speeds - the further away from the camera, the slower the speed. The multiplane effect is sometimes referred to as a parallax process.
An interesting variation is to have the background and foreground move in opposite directions. This creates an effect of rotation. An early example is the scene in Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs where the evil Queen drinks her potion, and the surroundings appear to spin around her.
The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversifiedmultinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. It is the world's second largest media conglomerate in terms of revenue, after Comcast. Disney was founded on October 16, 1923, by Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, and established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and theme parks. The company also operated under the names The Walt Disney Studio, then Walt Disney Productions. Taking on its current name in 1986, it expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theater, radio, music, publishing, and online media.
In addition, Disney has since created corporate divisions in order to market more mature content than is typically associated with its flagship family-oriented brands. The company is best known for the products of its film studio, The Walt Disney Studios, which is today one of the largest and best-known studios in American cinema. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, A+E Networks, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, music, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 14 theme parks around the world. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is a primary symbol of The Walt Disney Company.

When we hear think of the animated film produced by the Walt Disney studio, we’ve come to expect a film of a certain quality, rich in music, character and story, and exceptional in its visuals. But that expectation is one built upon a tradition of innovation that often goes unheralded. So with the recent announcement of a live-action 'Lion King' remake, let's go back to the beginning and see what it was that made their work so special in the first place. No Spoilers (for once). And what a multiplane allows you to do is add a layer to your film, add a layer to your animation. And you can build multiplanes that will give you numerous layers. In this case of this multiplane here, we're just adding one layer. The way that we add this layer is by taking a piece of plexiglass. That's what we have right here, good, transparent plexiglass, thin. Thick is good if you're working with very heavy animating subjects, but this thing piece is just fine for what we're doing. And we have the plexiglass propped up almost like a table above another surface. So again...

Featuring interviews with various Disney Legends and Historians, Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow looks at the various technologies Walt Disney used and developed over the course of his life. From creating the first sync sound animation in 1928 to his unrealized dream of E.P.C.O.T., an experimental city that passed on with him in 1966, this film shows Walt Disney as the futurist he truly was. Follow up Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCRkCbuhn80 I've have had the pleasure of playing at various locations in the Walt Disney World Resort since 1989. This album contains many of the requests I have received throughout the years at Main Street U.S.A, The Grand Floridian Hotel Lobby, and from many couples getting married throughout the Resort. The songs are recorded simply, with their melodies dominating the arrangements. People of all ages have great memories attached to these songs and my hope is that they will do the same for you. This album and the follow up one "Piano Classics from the Magic Kingdom" are available on the MLJ Music website in CD form or download. https://mljmusic.com/discography/disney-piano-classics/ https://mljmusic.com/discography/piano-classics-from-...
This film was shown only once, and with no advance notice on stations in only five US cities. The original Michael Eisner intro hit me right in the nostalgia. Lost Walt Disney UFO Documentary, Alien Encounters: In March of 1995, Walt Disney Television aired an intriguing UFO special. This highly unusual UFO video special presents UFOs and alien visitation to our planet as a matter of fact. At first glance, the special appears to be a promotion of the "New Tomorrowland" area, in particular the new "Alien Encounters" ride. This was in the mid 90's. (This venture was cancelled almost immediately) However, upon closer inspection...it is much more. The entire program, which opens with a short segment by Disney CEO Michael Eisner, does not even question the existence of UFOs and a major UFO ...

Each year, the technical complexity of making the next great Walt Disney Animation Studios film increases. Animation and Visual FX studios continue to push the bounds of what is possible in computer graphics. This complexity drives rapid technological growth in both computational resources and storage to the point that it exceeds what we can physically provide with our on-premise compute cluster. As a result, we have started to adopt a hybrid approach with the cloud. This session addresses the hurdles that animation and VFX studios face and focuses on automation of 'disposable' components (specifically infrastructure, licensing, fleet management, data and dependency management in a large-scale batch workload). We apply these general cloud techniques and utilities to an animation/VFX work...
It's cold outside
Seven months of suicide
I've been in suspended animation
Just like Walt Disney
My only love
Asked for me to wait out there
I waited
Waited but she didn't care
Just like Walt Disney
I'm just thawing out
My fingertips and toes are frozen to the bone
Give me an hour before you throw me in the cold
Ring, ring, ring
Now I hear the phone singing
Calling me
Telling me to start freezing
Just like Walt Disney, yeah
I'm a block of ice
My fingertips and toes are frozen to the bone
Give me an hour before you throw me in the cold
Give me an hour before you pick me up and throw me 'cross the sea
