NBA Finals 2017: Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers, Game Three

The NBA Finals head to Cleveland after the Warriors took the opening two games on their home court with ease.

Warriors on brink of NBA title

The Golden State Warriors have beaten the Cleveland Cavaliers 118-113 to take a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

That's all for now..

I'm honestly stunned. That game FELT like it was Cleveland's the whole time, even when the Warriors were winning it seemed like Cleveland was playing closer to their ceiling than Golden State...but that's how good this team is. Even when they aren't at their best, they can still pull out a win against a team featuring LeBron James playing at an extremely high level.

This is the best basketball team we've ever seen. And they're one win away from a perfect playoffs run - we'll be back tonight with AFL, NRL and of course, Socceroos action. See you then.

An 11-0 run to finish it...

The visitors scored the last 11 points of the game as the Cavs went ice cold. Cleveland as a team went 12-44 from three, Love and Irving only making 1 of 14 between them. Once again there was minimal bench support and this Golden State juggernaut rolls on, and are one win away from going the entire playoffs undefeated.

Cleveland 113, Golden State 118

What a stunning turnaround. The Warriors stay perfect after they trailed by seven with just a handful of minutes left. A clutch three by KD with 45 seconds on the clock gave them the lead and this crowd is absolutely stunned.

James is blocked then takes it out of bounds!

Game over and very possibly series over. Iguodala locks him down in the corner, and then James tries to run down the ricochet but it goes out. Curry is fouled with 9.6 seconds left and that's that.

Kyrie misses...Durant is fouled!

They take way too long here. They eventually foul Durant with 12 seconds left after a long Irving fadeaway was no good. Durant makes both and the Cavs take their final timeout. Warriors lead 116-113.

Durant gives the Warriors the lead!!

45 seconds to go! Korver misses a three and KD does not at the other end. Wow.

Durant makes a hook shot and it's back to two!

113-111 with 1:15 to go. No chance there as they get Durant one-on-one with Thompson and it's way too easy for him to create space.

Love is hurt...

After that Durant foul there's a TV timeout and Kevin Love will come from the game to be replaced by Tristan Thompson.

Superb hustle play by Kyrie!!

He misses a layup but dives to the floor to get a rebound he had no right to get - they get a fresh 24 but LeBron's shot is off - Durant goes up the other end is fouled. Cavs by four, 1:24 to go.

3:00 remaining, Cavs back up by six!

JR Smith hits a three and the Cavs look the goods here. A long way to go, though!

4:40 remaining, Cavs up by one

A corner three from Klay and it's 108-107. Ty Lue takes a timeout and we're in for a tense finale.

5:30 gone, Cavs lead 104-99

The Warriors pull within a score before Curry badly shanks a three and LeBron makes a driving layup at the other end. Golden State turn it over with a Durant offensive foul before James draws contact at the other end - we go to a commercial break with the Cavs still keeping them at arms length.

2:40 gone, Cavs lead 100-93

LeBron and then Korver make threes to extend the lead ever so slightly. Thompson has the Warriors' four points so far in the quarter.

One quarter left...

Here we go. Cavs by five.

END OF 3RD: Cavs 94, Warriors 89

A pair of Patrick McCaw free throws cut the lead to five. That was Kyrie's quarter and he's now passed LeBron in points with 33 to The King's 32. Obviously with the weapons at Steve Kerr's disposal this is far from over but this is the best basketball we've seen from the Cavs - playing lockdown D and working the ball well in transition. We might have a series!

11:20 gone, Cavs lead 94-87

Cleveland have exploded here and now have their biggest lead of the series. LeBron throws down a dunk after some great passing before Kyrie makes an impossible finish. Durant is scoreless in the second half and the margin is seven!

9:30 gone, Cavs lead 88-86

LeBron gets his seventh assist as he kicks it out for Korver to hit a corner three and this has been by far the most competitive quarter of the series.

7:46 gone, 82-82

Irving picks off a Klay pass, the Cavs transition quickly and LeBron draws a foul as he lays one in.

5:36 gone, Warriors lead 79-78

Curry drains a three as this contest continues to see-saw. Cleveland take a timeout this time as Kyrie Irving has shot the lights out early on in the third.
