By Amy Mitchell-Whittington
A man has been charged with domestic violence offences after a woman was allegedly bashed and strangled in Brisbane's inner-west on Wednesday.
The pair were arguing at a park in Toowong, near the Royal Exchange Hotel, before the woman, 18, was allegedly punched several times in the head and face and strangled, police said.
She managed to struggle free from the man and flagged down a motorist for help.
She was treated for severe facial swelling, abrasions and bruising.
A 32-year-old Indooroopilly man was charged with a number of offences including acts intended to maim and strangulation.
He appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody.
