The National LGBTQ Task Force is an American social justice advocacy non-profitorganizing the grassroots power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. Also known as The Task Force, the organization supports action and activism on behalf of LGBTQ people and advances a progressive vision of liberation. Current leadership includes executive director Rea Carey and deputy executive director Russell Roybal.
The Task Force organizes the annual National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, a skills-building event for community and allies with over 2,000 attendees each year. The Task Force Policy Institute think tank conducts social science research, policy analysis, strategy development, public education, and advocacy.

My Creating Change Conference experience, we arrived in Philly on the 19th and stayed until the 21st. Spent the 20th (inauguration day) talking to people, making friends and coming to together, even though it was a very sad day I found strength and hope for a better future. The 21st I traveled back to NYC where I also bumped into people participating in the Women's March.
Creating Change Not Hate: We Will Be Heard It was a trying week for A Wider Bridge and the movement of LGBTQ people and allies, Jews and non-Jews, who care for Israel and the advancement of the Israeli LGBTQ community. A Wider Bridge came to Creating Change to tell the story of our work and give the conference participants an opportunity to talk with the leaders of Jerusalem Open House. Instead, at a conference with close to 4000 participants , a group of 200 protesters , many from outside the conference , were allowed to disrupt our program, prevent our guests from speaking and create an atmosphere inside the hotel that felt very threatening to our participants.
