More (1998 film)

More is a 1998 short film created by Mark Osborne using stop motion animation. More has won several awards, and was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Animated Short Film in 1998.

Plot

More tells the story of an inventor who lives in a drab, colorless world. Day by day, he toils away in a harsh, dull, and dehumanizing job, his only savior being the memories of the bliss of childhood. But at night, he works secretly on an invention that could help him relive those memories and spread their joy to everyone in his despair-filled life.

When he finishes the invention, it changes the way people look at the world, but not the world itself. His success changes him, however, because he loses an important part of himself.

Production and publication

More was written and directed by Mark Osborne, and created by a team that included, among others, Keith and Shannon Lowry, Rick Orner, Nick Peterson, and David Candelaria. Although it was only a 6-minute short, it was, as Osborne put it, an "absolutely massive undertaking"—as it was the first short to be shot using the IMAX format. In addition, it was filmed using stop motion, a much more time-consuming method than live-action filming techniques.

Modern Talking

Modern Talking was a German duo consisting of Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen. They have been referred to as Germany's most successful pop duo, and have had a number of hit singles, reaching the top five in many countries. Some of their most popular and widely known singles are "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "You Can Win If You Want", "Cheri, Cheri Lady", "Brother Louie", "Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. for Love)" and "Geronimo's Cadillac".

Modern Talking worked together from 1984 to 1987, when the band split up. In 1998, they reunited and made a successful comeback, recording and releasing music from 1998 to 2003. The duo released singles which again entered the top ten in Germany and abroad. Some of those singles were "You're My Heart, You're My Soul '98", "You Are Not Alone" and "TV Makes the Superstar".

History

The beginning

First formed at the end of 1984, they unexpectedly became immensely popular with "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", with which they occupied top ten positions in thirty-five countries including their homeland where the single perched at the top for six consecutive weeks, the single eventually went on to sell eight million copies worldwide. The track was then followed by another number-one hit, "You Can Win If You Want", which was released in the middle of 1985 from the debut album The 1st Album. The album was certified platinum in Germany for selling over 500,000 units.

Willard Carroll "Will" Smith, Jr. (born September 25, 1968) is an American actor, producer, rapper, and songwriter. He has enjoyed success in television, film, and music. Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld (/ˈheɪliː ˈstaɪnfɛld/ HAY-lee STYN-feld; born December 11, 1996) is an American actress, model and singer. She is known for her portrayal of Mattie Ross in the 2010 film True Grit, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, and a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She also played Petra Arkanian in the 2013 sci-fi film Ender's Game. She portrayed Juliet Capulet in the 2013 film adaptation of William Shakespeare's romantic tragedy Romeo & Juliet, Zooey Renner in the 2014 crime film 3 Days to Kill, and Violet in Begin Again. In 2015, she played Emily Junk in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect 2.

In addition to her acting career, Steinfeld also has done modeling work. She was hired as the face of Miu Miu shortly after True Grit was released in 2011. Steinfeld debuted her singing voice in Pitch Perfect 2 and released a cover version of "Flashlight", the song she sang in the film. In 2015, she signed a recording deal with Republic Records. Her debut single "Love Myself" was released along with a music video in August 2015, which has been certified platinum. Her debut EP, Haiz was released in November 2015.
