Fishing Between Storms - Hail Mary Tarpon Fishing. Were still in the midst of some serious wind but today there was a late afternoon dip in the wind to sub 15's. It was now or wait another five days so loaded up the Hobie and headed out. I took a couple of the crabs that I had just caught to see if they might be on the menu. Winds were not so bad, but storms kept rolling through dumping rain. That made things a bit uncomfortable, but it wasn't too bad as fifteen minutes later, the clouds would pass and the sun would pop through. In the lulls I got a few bites and did manage to hookup on a Pinfish. It was a very acrobatic fish and then bulldogger. Unfortunately, the hook once again gave up on the fight first and straightened out on a high flying jump. Might have to move up to some 3X heavy duty hooks. That makes the fourth fish that I have straightened the hooks on. No action on the crabs and the one I put on lasted all four hours so that was good. Kept a couple of pinfish for crab food and also filled a second bucket of saltwater to freshen the crabs new home. Overall, it was totally worth it with that one fight. Better than staying home and doing a yakkity yak video.
