Honda looks to entice buyers with new limited run version of its smallest SUV offering. 

In the wake of fresh competition from the likes of the Toyota C-HR and soon to arrive Hyundai Kona, the Japanese car maker is offering a new special edition HR-V based on the entry-level VTi variant. 

Priced at $28,990 drive-away, Honda claims the HR-V Limited Edition adds $3600 worth of extras for only an additional $1425 over the VTi model. 

The extra coin for the limited edition adds 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, side steps, keyless entry and ignition and roof rails. 

Paint options include pearlescent blue and white and metallic silver and grey, all at no extra cost. 

Power comes from the same 105kW/172Nm 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that is featured in the rest of the range, which is mated to a CVT automatic transmission.
