Allen Jenkins (April 9, 1900 – July 20, 1974) was an American character actor who worked on stage, screen and in television and singer.
Jenkins was born David Allen Curtis Jenkins in Staten Island, New York on April 9, 1900. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In his first stage appearance, he danced next to James Cagney in a chorus line for an off-Broadway musical called Pitter-Patter, earning five dollars a week. He also appeared in Broadway plays between 1923 and 1962, including The Front Page (1928). His big break came when he replaced Spencer Tracy for three weeks in the Broadway play The Last Mile.
Jenkins was called to Hollywood by Darryl F. Zanuck and signed first to Paramount Pictures and shortly afterward to Warner Bros. His first role in films came in 1931, when he appeared as an ex-convict in the short Straight and Narrow. He had originated the character of Frankie Wells in the Broadway production of Blessed Event and reprised the role in its film adaptation, both in 1932. With the advent of talking pictures, he made a career out of playing comic henchmen, stooges, policemen, taxi drivers and other 'tough guys' in numerous films of the 1930s and 1940s, especially for Warner Bros. Allen Jenkins was labeled the "greatest scene-stealer of the 1930s" by The New York Times. In 1959 Jenkins played the role of elevator operator Harry in the comedy Pillow Talk.

The term "turkey call" refers not only to the different vocalizations of the turkey, but also devices designed and used to imitate these sounds.
Vocalizations of wild turkeys include "gobbles", "clucks", "putts", "purrs", "yelps", "cutts", "cackles" and "kee-kees".
To reproduce these different vocalizations there are various types of turkey calls available today and a good hunter learns to use several because it is unpredictable which type of sound a wild turkey will respond to on any given day. The hunter will learn turkey call techniques to attract a turkey to their location.
Box calls create turkey sounds with the friction created by sliding the lid across the surface of the box. Box calls are convenient and are capable of producing more volume than any other call in the world.
Friction calls may be the most common turkey calls because they are easy to use and create lifelike turkey sounds. Friction calls feature a round (usually) surface, and the user creates sound by drawing a peg, or "striker", across the surface. Friction call surfaces can be slate, aluminum, glass or a variety of other materials.

Undoubtedly one of the most unique situations and rounds I have ever seen in my 20 year World Championships history. Women's leader Sarah Hokom arrives two holes late due to an accident which left her largely unharmed yet totaled her car. Watch the front 9 as Sarah arrives at the course 2 holes late and how she handles this powerful and emotional round as the current leader of the World Championships.
