The term Red Army Choir may refer to:
The Alexandrov Ensemble does not recognize MVD Ensemble as an "Red Army Choir" and has expressed indignation at the MVD Ensemble's claims of inheriting the Red Army Choir tradition. Although the MVD Ensemble was never associated with the Red Army in Russia during Soviet times, many Western audiences came to associate the MVD Ensemble with the Alexandrov Ensemble due to their similar repertoire and wearing of uniforms during performances.
The Workers' and Peasants' Red Army (Russian: Рабоче-крестьянская Красная армия; РККА, or Raboche-krest'yanskaya Krasnaya armiya: RKKA, frequently shortened in Russian to Красная aрмия; KA, in English: Red Army) was the army and the air force of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, and after 1922 the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The army was established immediately after the 1917 October Revolution (Red October or Bolshevik Revolution). The Bolsheviks raised an army to oppose the military confederations (especially the various groups collectively known as the White Army) of their adversaries during the Russian Civil War. Beginning in February 1946, the Red Army, along with the Soviet Navy, embodied the main component of the Soviet Armed Forces; taking the official name of "Soviet Army" (Russian: Советская Армия (СА)/Sovetskaya Armija), until its dissolution in December 1991.
The Red Army is credited as being the decisive land force in the Allied victory in the European theatre of World War II. During operations on the Eastern Front, it fought 75%–80% of the German land forces (Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS) deployed in the war.
"The Red" is the breakthrough single from the band Chevelle. It is the fifth track and lead single from their major label debut, Wonder What's Next, released in 2002. Former Major League Baseball player Geoff Blum used "The Red" as his intro song when he came up to bat.
The song is about dealing with frustration and anger. Its music video depicts an anger management seminar where vocalist Pete Loeffler ascends a podium and sings the verse lyrics. The video then breaks to Chevelle performing the heavy chorus under red lighting. The agitated seminar participants, which include band members Sam and Joe, begin tossing folding chairs. By the end of the song, it is revealed that the fight happened to be just a dream.
Alexandrov Ensemble is an official army choir of the Russian armed forces. Founded during the Soviet era, the ensemble consists of a male choir, an orchestra, and a dance ensemble.
Alexandrov Ensemble, along with the MVD Ensemble, are the only groups with the right to claim the title "Red Army Choir" .
The Alexandrov Ensemble has entertained audiences both in Russia and throughout the world, performing a range of music including folk tunes, hymns, operatic arias, and popular music. The group's repertoire has included The Volga Boatmen's Song, Katyusha, Kalinka, and Ave Maria.
The ensemble is named for its first director, Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov (1883-1946). Its formal name since 1998 is Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Russian Army named after A. V. Alexandrov (Russian: Академический ансамбль песни и пляски Российской Армии имени А. В. Александрова, Akademichesky ensemble pesni i plyaski Rossiyskoy Armii imeni A. V. Alexandrova), shortened to Academic Ensemble (Russian: Академический ансамбль, Akademichesky ensemble) on second reference.
An army (from Latin arma "arms, weapons" via Old French armée, "armed" (feminine)) or ground force is a fighting force that fights primarily on land. In the broadest sense, it is the land-based military branch, service branch or armed service of a nation or state. It may also include other branches of the military such as the air force via means of aviation corps. Within a national military force, the word army may also mean a field army. They differ from army reserves who are activated only during such times as war or natural disasters.
In several countries, the army is officially called the Land Army to differentiate it from an air force called the Air Army, notably France. In such countries, the word "army" on its own retains its connotation of a land force in common usage. The current largest army in the world, by number of active troops, is the People's Liberation Army of China with 2,250,000 active troops and 800,000 reserve personnel followed by the Indian Army with 1,129,000 active troops and 2,142,900 reserve personnel.

In an unexpected spurt of innovation, FIFA has decided to change how soccer games at the World Cup open. Instead of playing national anthems, players now sing choral songs that are fun and stimulating. "Let's go!", the song heard here at the start of the game Brazil vs Canada, is one of the teams' favorites. The fact that the song is in Russian was bemoaned by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, whose personal request was a rather overused Queen song. FIFA was decidedly not amused and reminded the PM that Canada's chances for hosting the World Cup in 2030 were at best slim. A Petroleum Chorale has been commissioned by Canada's Conservative government to fit FIFA's new format. Thanks go to the Red Army Choir.

Yesterday, April the 9th, Bernie Sanders celebrated a seven-election winning streak when he finished 12 points ahead of Hillary Clinton after the Wyoming caucus, which is "one of the most conservative states of the country" (according to the Guardian). Although I'm not from the USA, I've been noticing how ridiculous the right-wing/republican media has become while trying to criticize him. Some articles go as far as calling him a "communist" who will transfrom the beautiful American democracy into a godless totalitarian state. So here it is, for all those who truly believe that nonesense... P.S: The music is "Farewell of Slavianka" sung by the Red Army Choir.
