Greta Garbo, born Greta Lovisa Gustafsson (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈgre:ˈta lʊˈvi:ˈsa ˈgɵstafˈsɔn] 18 September 1905 – 15 April 1990), was a Swedish film actress and an international star and icon during the 1920s and 1930s. Garbo was nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Actress and received an honorary one in 1954 for her "luminous and unforgettable screen performances." In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Garbo fifth on their list of the greatest female stars of Classic Hollywood Cinema, after Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis, Audrey Hepburn, and Ingrid Bergman.
Garbo launched her career with a secondary role in the 1924 Swedish film The Saga of Gosta Berling. Her performance caught the attention of Louis B. Mayer, chief executive of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), who brought her to Hollywood in 1925. She immediately stirred interest with her first silent film, Torrent, released in 1926; a year later, her performance in Flesh and the Devil, her third movie, made her an international star.

John Gilbert stars in this entertaining 1932 drama based on Gilbert's own original story. In this scene, Gilbert gives a brilliant performance as the lecherous chauffer, Karl - a devious and malicious scoundrel who uses sex and blackmail to get ahead in life and, by doing so, turns a household upside down with his arrogance and charm. THE VOICE: Ok folks, here is PROOF that Jack Gilbert DID NOT have a high-pitched or feminine voice. 'Nuff said.
"Elena. It's no easy task being an ordinary parent to an extraordinary child. I've failed in that task. And because of my prejudices, I've failed you. I'm haunted by how things might've played out differently if I'd been more willing to hear your side of things. For me, it's the end. For you, a chance to grow old and someday do better with your own child than I did with mine. It's for that child that I give you my ring. I don't ask for your forgiveness or for you to forget, I ask only that you believe this. Whether you are now reading this as a human or as a vampire, I love you all the same as I've always loved you and always will." Official music video. Temperamancy is a mystical, microtonal, sonic divination into the literal transposition of light waves into sound waves. 1000 edo is employed serialistically thus each tone is given equal priority by consulting a board of 500 digits with 6-10 dice, half of the sides marked for the second half of 1000 and the dice number indicating which octave.
