David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016), known as David Bowie (/ˈboʊ.i/), was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, painter, and actor. He was a figure in popular music for over five decades, and was considered by critics and musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. His career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, and his music and stagecraft significantly impacted popular music. During his lifetime, he sold an estimated 140 million records worldwide. In the UK, he was awarded nine platinum album certifications, eleven gold and eight silver, and released eleven number-one albums. In the US, he received five platinum and seven gold certifications. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
Paul Conrad "Biff" Rose (born October 15, 1937, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States) is an American comedian and singer-songwriter.
Born in New Orleans, Rose moved to Hollywood where he found a job working as a comedy sketch writer with George Carlin. Among other assignments he wrote for the Mort Sahl TV show. Rose tried his hand as a stand-up comic and eventually began writing songs, performing his own compositions on piano. His piano-playing demonstrated a solid versatility, ranging in style from honky-tonk to lilting melodies, his singing made no pretense of technical accomplishment yet his songs and performances emitted a genuine sweetness that appealed to many in the late 1960s.
Rose recorded his first two records for Tetragrammaton Records. Following the release of 1968's The Thorn in Mrs. Rose's Side, which contained his hit single "Buzz the Fuzz", Rose made 12 appearances on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show from 1968 to 1970. He performed his songs ("Gentle People" and "Myrtle's Pies") on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, He also appeared on American Bandstand, The Merv Griffin Show, The David Frost Show and Hugh Hefner's Playboy After Dark. He was master of ceremonies at the Atlantic City Pop Festival of 1969 and the Atlanta Pop Festival of 1970.
"Space Oddity" is a song written and performed by David Bowie and released as a 7-inch single on 11 July 1969. It was also the opening track of the album David Bowie.
The song is about the launch of Major Tom, a fictional astronaut, and was released during a period of great interest in space flight. The United States' Apollo 11 mission would launch five days later, and would become the first manned moon landing another five days later. The lyrics have also been seen to lampoon the British space programme, which had only launched rockets at that time and has never attempted a moon landing.
Besides its title, which alludes to the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, the introduction to the song is a barely audible instrumental build-up that is analogous to the deep bass tone in Also sprach Zarathustra that is prominently used in the film.
"Space Oddity" was David Bowie's first UK Top 5 hit, and was awarded the 1969 Ivor Novello Award, together with Peter Sarstedt's "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)?". It became one of Bowie's signature songs, and his second album, originally released as David Bowie in the UK, was renamed after the track for its 1972 re-release by RCA Records, and became known by this name. In 1975, upon re-release as part of a maxi-single, the song was Bowie's first UK No. 1 single.
Andy Warhol (/ˈwɔːrhɒl/; born Andrew Warhola; August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist. The Andy Warhol Museum in his native city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, holds an extensive permanent collection of art and archives. It is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to a single artist.
Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga computers that were introduced in 1984, two years before his death. He founded Interview magazine and was the author of numerous books, including The Philosophy of Andy Warhol and Popism: The Warhol Sixties. He managed and produced The Velvet Underground, a rock band which had a strong influence on the evolution of punk rock music. He is also notable as a gay man who lived openly as such before the gay liberation movement. His studio, The Factory, was a well known gathering place that brought together distinguished intellectuals, drag queens, playwrights, Bohemian street people, Hollywood celebrities, and wealthy patrons.

I put this together from a variety of sources of variable quality, some of which was originally silent, and synched it with the version of the song performed live in Santa Monica 1972. Play it loud and enjoy!
Music video by David Bowie performing All the Young Dudes. (C) 2004 ISO Records made under license to SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT
I put this together from footage taken mainly from the Dunstable and Aylesbury shows which Bowie played in the summer of 1972. The silent footage has been synched with a BBC radio session recording of 'Starman' which I have manipulated slightly to give a more 'in concert' sound and then edited to match the footage. This video was not made for profit, just for other fans to enjoy. The “Heroes” material was remarkably quickly recorded (usually in one take) and mixed in August 1977. Then the album and the single were released equally swiftly, in September and October respectively. During those two months, Bowie undertook a short promotional tour, recording TV shows, where he performed “Heroes”. During the same period, Bowie also shot the Stanley Dorfman directed, “Heroes” video. The recordings were: UK - The Marc Show – September 7th UK - Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas TV Special – September 11th UK “Heroes” video shoot - September 25th Italy – Odeon...

Recorded on 23 April 1979 in London for ITV's 'Kenny Everett VIdeo Show'. Bowie performs to a newly recorded version of the song. Check out his white nail polish. This was shown on a TV tribute to Bowie earlier this year. I've cropped out the channel logos but otherwise left it untouched. For the sake of completion, I've also added the skit Bowie and Everett perform after the song finishes. This is from a different source and the video quality isn't as good - but still very watchable. Enjoy.

“It was a very smooth collaboration. 'Where Are We Now' quickly went to number one in the iTunes charts in 17 countries and has been viewed more than 3,5 million times on YouTube alone. The video was shot at Oursler's studio in Manhatten, and is full of references to Bowie's past. “Moving forwards over decades, certain things are lost, but certain things are retained.” This is the basic idea of the video, as Oursler explains it. He adds how their “anti-rock video” was based on David Bowies ideas, and was shot within a strict deadline. At the core of the video is a conjoined rag doll with two faces projected onto it: a “myste...

I reworked the audio and uploaded again. This is purely the product of my imagination - what it would be like to have these two giant talents performing together. I've used a range of videos taken of Adam Lambert performing live, provided by fans, along with some pieces of early visuals of Bowie and mashed them up to depict Adam singing a duet of 'Fame' with David Bowie. I've remixed a studio recording of Bowie's Fame with several audio's of Adam singing Fame to create the impression of them performing together. Bowie's original track mostly runs behind the live band and Adam's vocals from his live performances. I do not claim any rights over these audio and visual materials and am not intending to breach any copyrights. My aim is to provide a "fantasy" only and to combine the powerful...
