Texas /ˈtɛksəs/ (Spanish: Texas or Tejas [ˈtexas]) is a state in the United States of America. It is the second most populous and second largest state by area in the US. Geographically located in the south central part of the country, Texas shares an international border with Mexico to the south and borders the states of New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to the northeast, and Louisiana to the east. Texas has an area of 268,820 square miles (696,200 km2) and a growing population of over 27.5 million residents (July 2015).
Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth-largest in the United States, while San Antonio is the second largest in the state and seventh largest in the United States. Dallas–Fort Worth and Greater Houston are the fourth and fifth largest United States metropolitan statistical areas, respectively. Other major cities include Austin (the state capital) and El Paso. Texas is nicknamed the Lone Star State to signify Texas as a former independent republic, and as a reminder of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico. The "Lone Star" can be found on the Texan state flag and on the Texan state seal. The origin of the state name, Texas, is from the word, "Tejas", which means 'friends' in the Caddo language.
Eyes of Texas may refer to:
"The Eyes of Texas" is the school spirit song of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas at El Paso. It is set to the tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad." Students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the University sing the song at Longhorn sports games and other events.
The song was written in 1903 by John Sinclair, editor of the Cactus yearbook and a UT band member, per the request of band member Lewis Johnson. Johnson was also the program director of the Varsity Minstrel Show that raised funds for the university track team. He debuted the song at the minstrel show, also known as a blackface performance.
The lyrics are said to be intended to poke fun at University President Colonel Prather. Prather had attended Washington College, now Washington and Lee University, whose president, Robert E. Lee, would frequently tell his students, "the eyes of the South are upon you." Prather was known for including in his speeches a similar admonition, "The Eyes of Texas are Upon You," meaning that the state of Texas was watching and expecting the students to go out and do great things. Prather enjoyed the song and promoted its usage. He died not long thereafter, and the song was played at his funeral.
The Eyes of Alice Cooper is the 23rd album by Alice Cooper, that was released in 2003. Although it has been said that the title is a reference to the 2000 documentary known as The Eyes of Tammy Faye, in October 2007, Alice said that was not the case. With this album, Cooper returned to his earlier hard rock sound, in the vein of The Last Temptation, and left the heavy industrial metal sound found in his last two studio albums. Of note is the album cover, which was released in four different versions, featuring alternate colours in Cooper's eyes and the crescent around the 'A' in the title. It was available in blue, green, purple and red.
In the 2010 Behind the Music Remastered on Alice Cooper, "Between High School & Old School" was described as "a modern Alice Cooper classic" for its return to the topic of school (a reference to "School's Out").
All songs written and composed by Alice Cooper, Eric Dover and Ryan Roxie, except where noted.
Roadie is a 1980 film directed by Alan Rudolph about a truck driver who becomes a roadie for a traveling rock and roll show. The film stars Meat Loaf and marks his first starring role in a film. There are also cameo appearances by musicians such as Roy Orbison, Hank Williams Jr., Blondie and Alice Cooper. The film was marketed with the tagline "Bands make it rock...Roadies make it roll." Roy and Hank Williams Jr calm down an unruly crowd with "The Eyes of Texas."

The Eyes
Oh no - they're at it again
Looking inside my secrets
Coming through cracks before I mend the wall
Get out - cause you're breaking the law
How did you ever find me
Places where I can hide can't get much smaller
I have invisible dreams
Where no one can touch me
Maybe I'll find a way to disappear
No one moves - and no one dies
Just the eyes
I've run as fast as I can
Thinking they'll never catch me
What a waste of breath a waste of time
Feel like digging a hole
Going in even deeper
Maybe they just can't see what just can't shine
I'll be lost - so no goddbyes
If no one moves then nothing dies
Just the eyes
Oh no - they've done it again
Sending out the detectives
Searching for signs of life and that means me
In my invisible dreams
When no one is watching
I'd make the whole world blind and I'd be free
I'll be lost - so no replies
If no one looks then no one dies
Just the eyes
Those eyes
Magic numbers
Even sacrifice
I can't find a way
