Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as with children. It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre. Its narrative course and structure, characters and imagery have been enormously influential in both popular culture and literature, especially in the fantasy genre.
Alice was published in 1865, three years after Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat on 4 July 1862 (this popular date of the "golden afternoon" might be a confusion or even another Alice-tale, for that particular day was cool, cloudy, and rainy) up the Isis with the three young daughters of Henry Liddell (the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church): Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849, "Prima" in the book's prefatory verse); Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 10, born 1852, "Secunda" in the prefatory verse); Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853, "Tertia" in the prefatory verse).

Daniel Robert Elfman (born May 29, 1953) is an American composer, singer, songwriter, and record producer. From 1976 to 1995 he was the lead singer and songwriter for the rock band Oingo Boingo.
In 1976 Elfman entered the film industry as an actor. In 1982 he scored his first film, Forbidden Zone, directed by his older brother Richard Elfman. Among his honors are four Academy Award nominations, a Grammy for Batman, an Emmy for Desperate Housewives, the 2002 Richard Kirk Award, and the Disney Legend Award.
Danny Elfman was born in Los Angeles, California, into a Jewish family. He is the son of Blossom Elfman (née Bernstein), a writer and teacher, and Milton Elfman, a teacher who was in the Air Force. He was raised in a racially mixed community in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles. He spent much of his time in the local movie theatre, adoring the music of such film composers as Bernard Herrmann and Franz Waxman. Stating that he hung out with the "band geeks" in high school, he started a ska band. After dropping out of high school, he followed his brother Richard to France, where he performed with Le Grand Magic Circus, an avant-garde musical theater group. Violin in tow, Elfman next journeyed to Africa where he traveled through Ghana, Mali, and Upper Volta, absorbing new musical styles, including the Ghanaian highlife genre which would eventually influence his own music.

Alice in Wonderland (2010) original score by Danny Elfman - Track 01. Alice's Theme

Should we yet document audacity, your last allegations we write.
With yet another man-made miracle, this borders on the spiritual. It's time we came to fight.
And should be open our eyes then we'd know. That the lines we once drew in the sand turned to stone.
If we ever held back what we write... Then our message is clear, my dear: this all ends tonight.
Yes, we are. We're cutting close as you stare at the scenery. Truth, we write. Always colorful, cutting and cold.
Yes, we lie. And we see eye to eye through you stand at the feet of me. And so, tonight... means goodbye as the story was told.
CHORUS
Alice, Alice... the queen is raging. The Cheshire cat with his smile fading.
A pawn. Eight. Squares. Now her majesty. We're curious to know which hole you followed the white rabbit down
Yes, we are. We're losing some friends and we're changing the scenery. Truth, we find. Always colorful, cutting the cold.
Yes, we lied. We knew you were destined for underachieving. And so, tonight... Means goodbye as the story is told.
CHORUS
Alice, Alice... the queen is raging. The Cheshire cat with his smile fading.
A pawn. Eight. Squares. Now her majesty. We're curious to know which hole you followed the white rabbit down
We'd step through the looking glass now.
