Plot: Adil, a young Muay Thai kick-boxer, has just fled an honor fight-to-the-death. Ilham, an assassin who is also Adil's stepbrother, is promptly hired by the organizer of the death match to kill the fugitive. Looking for somewhere to hide and recover, Adil and a childhood friend take shelter in the Bunohan boxing club where Adil started his career. Ilham, meanwhile, has never been back to Bunohan since the day he left many years ago. Upon returning, memories of loneliness and abandonment flood his mind, and he experiences waves of resentment and regret. Bakar, the third brother, has also come home from the city; ostensibly a respectful schoolteacher, he is in reality a greedy and ruthless person, and is trying to convince his father to sell a burial ground to a construction company.

Plot: Thirty-year-old Imane lives with her husband and three children in a modest house across from the historic citadel of Aleppo. Adnan is a simple, hard-working man from a good Aleppo family. And he is a model worker in the civil service. But his job doesn't pay enough to support his family so he moonlights as a taxi driver. This doesn't leave any time for his family or his wife. Imane takes to listening to the songs of Oum Kalsoum and develops a great passion for the legendary Egyptian singer. She tries singing herself, first timidly, then with more assurance and pleasure. Her greatest joy is to comb the bazaar for cassettes of Oum Kalsoum. She feels a surge of love. For her husband, for his children, for his parents, for his brothers. Her husband is thrilled by the transformation of his wife and encourages her new passion. His brothers, however, think she's gone mad: she listens to music, sings and seems consumed by passion. Could she be seeing another man? They decide to follow her...
