Long-suffering Dockers' nuffies can comfortably book their holidays to Bali in September, with statistics kings Champion Data predicting Fremantle are no hope of playing finals.
And before Fremantle fans subject me to their usual barrage of charming insults, it's not a case of "lies, damn lies and cherry-picking stats."
Champion Data ran a thousand different simulations for games yet to be played for the rest of the season, which included the present form of teams, the strength of the opposition and where the teams played.
The premier statistical analysts in football even ran simulations on injured players and how that could affect where a team finishes.
After the exhaustive possibilities were crunched the stats gurus came up with the chances of sides making the top eight in percentage terms.
And if the Dockers recent woeful form wasn't a clear indicator Fremantle wouldn't be participating in September action, Champion Data has given the Dockers only a six per cent chance of making the finals.
While the Dockers are no chance of adding any silverware to their already barren trophy cabinet, the statistical analysis has West Coast a 56 per cent chance of finishing eighth.
But even if the Eagles do defy the odds and make the top eight, it's hard to imagine West Coast going deep into September given its current form slump.
The data has the Giants just pipping the Crows for top spot, while the Cats and Port - despite getting hammered by Essendon last week - round out the top four.
Surprisingly, the Bombers (who are currently sixth on the ladder) are predicted to finish in tenth spot, one below a resurgent Swans outfit.
A number of the top four sides will be nervous last year's premiers the Bulldogs are tipped to finish fifth given the team won the flag from seventh in 2016.
Melbourne are predicted to finish sixth and play finals for the first time since 2006 and the Tigers should return to September action after a disappointing 12th last year.
At the other end of the table, the Lions will be eyeing off next year's first round picks, with Brisbane an 88 per cent chance of claiming the wooden spoon.
