North Sydney may refer to:
Sydney /ˈsɪdni/ is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds the world's largest natural harbour, and sprawls towards the Blue Mountains to the west. Residents of Sydney are known as "Sydneysiders". Sydney is the second official seat and second official residence of the Governor-General of Australia, the Prime Minister of Australia and the Cabinet of Australia.
The Sydney area has been inhabited by indigenous Australians since the Upper Paleolithic period. The first British settlers arrived in 1788 to found Sydney as a penal colony, the first European settlement in Australia. Since convict transportation ended in the mid-19th century, the city has transformed from a colonial outpost into a major global cultural and economic centre.
The population of Sydney at the time of the 2011 census was 4.39 million, 1.5 million of which were born overseas, representing many different nationalities and making Sydney one of the most multicultural cities in the world. There are more than 250 different languages spoken in Sydney and about one-third of residents speak a language other than English at home.
North Shore can either be the north shore of a landmass (and the south shore of a body of water), or the north shore of a body of water (and the south shore of a landmass). It may refer to:
North is a noun, adjective, or adverb indicating direction or geography. North is one of the four cardinal directions or compass points. It is the opposite of south and is perpendicular to east and west.
The word north is related to the Old High German nord, both descending from the Proto-Indo-European unit ner-, meaning "down" (or "under"). (Presumably a natural primitive description of its concept is "to the left of the rising sun".)
The Latin word borealis comes from the Greek boreas "north wind, north", which, according to Ovid, was personified as the son of the river-god Strymon, the father of Calais and Zetes. Septentrionalis is from septentriones, "the seven plow oxen", a name of Ursa Maior. The Greek arktikos is named for the same constellation, and is the derivation of the English word "Arctic".
Other languages have sometimes more interesting derivations. For example, in Lezgian, kefer can mean both 'disbelief' and 'north', since to the north of the Muslim Lezgian homeland there are areas formerly inhabited by non-Muslim Caucasian and Turkic peoples. In many languages of Mesoamerica, "north" also means "up". In Hungarian the word for north is észak, which is derived from éjszaka ("night"), since above the Tropic of Cancer, the Sun never shines from the north.
Amazing times with the Sydney folks, hope to see you guys again! This marks the 4th travel video! :) PS: Had a hard time editing it... did an edit quite some time back and I didn't like it so I decided to redo the entire edit, hopefully it's good! This explains why it took me awhile to get it done, apart from the general lack of time and... procrastination...

This is a re-edit of the original video. The wobbly black bars have now disappeared! The ride is from the junction of King Street and Kent Street in the Sydney CBD to Aldi in North Sydney in Mount Street, just off Walker Street. The route is mostly on bike tracks and crosses the Sydney Harbour Bridge. All the lengthy waits at traffic lights have been removed and a few other particularly dull pieces. This is my first video, so apologies for the rank amateurishness.
This week the More Chillis crew headed to the North Shore. An area defined by the institutionalised affluence and outdated views of its inhabitants. A recent study revealed there is more chardonnay consumed on the North Shore than anywhere else in the world.
This proposal was to upgrade the Preparatory School at North Sydney. The school was established in 1926 utilizing Upton Grange and Junior House. In 1959 a new classroom block was built and an Arts and Crafts Cottage, these buildings have formed the educational facility, which have remained largely unchanged since 1959.
