Ged or GED may refer to:
General Educational Development (GED) tests are a group of four subject tests which, when passed, provide certification that the test taker has American or Canadian high school-level academic skills.
Although the "GED" initialism is frequently mistaken as meaning "general education degree" or "general education diploma", the American Council on Education, which owns the GED trademark, coined the initialism to identify "tests of general educational development" that measure proficiency in science, mathematics, social studies, reading, and writing. Passing the GED test gives those who do not complete high school, or who do not meet requirements for high school diploma, the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency credential, also called a high school equivalency diploma, general equivalency diploma a high-school degree awarded by a series of examinations; also called GED as in the dictionary, in the majority of the United States, Canada, or internationally. In 2014, some states in the United States switched to alternate exams, HiSET and TASC.
Language Arts (also known as English Language Arts) is the name given to the study and improvement of the arts of language. Traditionally, the primary divisions in language arts are literature and language, where language in this case refers to both linguistics, and specific languages. According to the International Council of Teachers of English, the five strands of the language arts are reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing (visual literacy).
According to professors of the language arts, the most important topic of it is debating. When writing essays, the important part is stated to be the argument. For instance, the opinion of the writer, the opinion of an expert, the opinion of a specialized human, etc. Another important part of the debating in the essay (of language arts) is the proof. The writer can have statistical proof, or other forms of numerical, phonetic, and symbolic proof.
Reading, by definition, is the ability and knowledge of a language that allows comprehension by grasping the meaning of written or printed characters, words, or sentences. Reading involves a wide variety of print and non-print texts that helps a reader gain an understanding of what is being read. Reading of texts that are often included in educational curriculum include fiction, nonfiction, classic, and also contemporary works. Reading goes beyond calling words to understanding the information presented in a written or a visual context..
Social studies is the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence. Within the school program, social studies provides coordinated, systematic study drawing upon such disciplines as anthropology, archaeology, economics, geography, history, jurisprudence, philosophy, political science, psychology, religion, and sociology, as well as appropriate content from the humanities, mathematics, and natural sciences. The primary purpose of social studies is to help young people develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.
Normally, Social Studies is divided into History and Geography when the student has reached sixth grade or near. Some American schools do not have separate classes on geography at the secondary level.
Social studies is often among students' least favorite subjects, even though it covers historical facts and geographical features.
Sigur Rós (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈsɪːɣʏr ˈroːus] SIG-ər rohss) are an Icelandic post-rock band from Reykjavík, who have been active since 1994. Known for their ethereal sound, frontman Jónsi Birgisson's falsetto vocals, and the use of bowed guitar, the band's music is also noticeable for its incorporation of classical and minimalist aesthetic elements. The band is named after Jónsi's sister Sigurrós Elín.
Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson (guitar and vocals), Georg Hólm (bass) and Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson (drums) formed the group in Reykjavík in January 1994. The band's name is Icelandic wordplay: while the individual words Sigur and Rós mean, respectively, Victory and Rose, "Victory Rose" wouldn't be grammatically correct; the name is actually borrowed from Jónsi's younger sister Sigurrós, who was born a few days before the band was formed, and then split into two words. They soon won a record deal with the local Sugarcubes-owned record label Bad Taste, because they thought the falsetto vocals were very cute and would appeal to teenage girls. In 1997, they released Von (pronounced [vɔːn], meaning "hope") and in 1998 a remix collection named Von brigði ([vɔːn ˈprɪɣðɪ]). This name is also Icelandic wordplay: Vonbrigði means "disappointment", but Von brigði means "variations on Von". The band was joined by Kjartan Sveinsson on keyboards in 1998. He is the only member of Sigur Rós with musical training, and has contributed most of the orchestral and string arrangements for their later work.

You got the ticket babe
Yes yes yes you know
The desert could not hold
All the love that I have
In my heart for you
If I could spread it out across the sea
You know my love would cover it all
Ain't that a lotta love
For two hearts to have and hold
Now if the cooks in the kitchen
Had a dress as tight as yours
They would not need a fire
Ain't a word I could say
Just to describe your fine look
That I love and love and desire
Ain't that a lotta love
For two hearts to have and hold
You got a smile
You got a kiss
You got a heart
And you got a lotta love yeah
A lotta love yeah
Ain't that a lotta love
For two hearts to have and hold
Now if the bees only knew
How sweet your love was
They'd pack up their honey comb
If the birds ever heard how sweet your voice was baby,
They'd pack up their song yeah
Ain't that a lotta love
For two hearts to have and hold
Ain't that a lotta love
For two hearts to have and hold
