'Suspicious' device found at property north of Brisbane

Police have revoked an emergency situation north of Brisbane after a 'suspicious device' was found at a property earlier today.

The bomb squad destroyed the device and cleared the Fortune Street property at Scarborough just after 5pm, police said.

Investigations were continuing.

An emergency situation has been declared after police found a suspicious device at a property north of Brisbane on Wednesday.

The device was found by police earlier today at a waterfront property at Fortune Street in Scarborough.

Police declared an emergency situation at 3.30pm and have established an exclusion zone including Fortune Street (including the water front), Second Avenue and Fifth Avenue.
Specialist police were on scene and were expected to destroy the device.
