Donald Poe "Don" Galloway (July 27, 1937 – January 8, 2009) was an American actor of stage, film and television, a political libertarian and journalist, perhaps best known for his role as Raymond Burr's protégé, Detective Sergeant Ed Brown, on the long-running crime drama Ironside (1967–1975). He reprised the role for a made-for-TV "reunion" film in 1993.
Galloway was born in Brooksville, Kentucky, the son of Malee (Poe) and Paul Smith Galloway, a contractor. Galloway began his television career in 1962 in the New York-based soap opera The Secret Storm as the first actor to play Kip Rysdale. His first nighttime video stint was on Tom, Dick and Mary, one-third of the 90-minute weekly sitcom 90 Bristol Court, in 1964.
He signed up with Universal Studios in 1963 and guest-starred on shows like Wagon Train, Run for Your Life, among many others. Those led him to a co-starring role opposite Raymond Burr on Ironside, as Det. Sgt. Ed Brown. During the sixth season of Ironside, he and Burr co-starred in the TV Movie Portrait: A Man Whose Name Was John. Galloway stayed through the entire run of Ironside until its cancellation in 1975. He was reunited with Burr on two of his mentor's 25 Perry Mason television movies before reprising his role on Return to Ironside in 1993.
Don Michael Mitchell (March 17, 1943 – December 8, 2013) was an American actor, best known for appearing with Raymond Burr in the NBC television series Ironside (1967-1975). He played the role of Mark Sanger, and reprised the role in the made-for-TV "reunion" film in 1993 – his last TV appearance.
Other television roles include McMillan & Wife and playing Ed Lawrence on the CBS daytime soap opera Capitol. He also appeared as a policeman in Bewitched.
From 1969 to 1970, Mitchell was married to the model Emilie Blake, with whom he had a daughter, Dawn Mitchell. In 1972, Mitchell married actress Judy Pace. They divorced in 1986. He and Pace have two daughters; actress Julia Pace Mitchell, who appears on the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, and attorney Shawn Meshelle Mitchell.
Mitchell died of natural causes at his home in Encino, Los Angeles on December 8, 2013 at age 70.

Ironside is an American television crime drama that ran on NBC from 1967 to 1975 The show starred Raymond Burr as Robert T. Ironside, a consultant for the San Francisco Police who was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot in the line of duty. The character debuted on March 28, 1967, in a TV movie called "A Man Called Ironside". When the show was broadcast in the United Kingdom, it was initially under that same title. The show earned Burr six Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations.
Ironside was a production of Burr's Harbour Productions Unlimited in association with Universal Television.
The show revolved around former San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Chief of Detectives Robert T. Ironside (Raymond Burr), a veteran of more than 20 years of police service who was forced to retire from the department after a sniper's bullet paralyzed him from the waist down, causing him to use a wheelchair. In the pilot episode, a TV movie, Ironside shows his strength of character and gets himself appointed a "special department consultant" by his good friend, Police Commissioner Dennis Randall. He does this by calling a press conference and then tricking Commissioner Randall into meeting his terms. In the pilot, Ironside eventually solves the mystery of the ambush. He requests Ed Brown and Eve Whitfield be assigned to him.
Raymond William Stacey Burr (May 21, 1917 – September 12, 1993) was a Canadian-American actor, primarily known for his title roles in the television dramas Perry Mason and Ironside. He was prominently involved in multiple charitable endeavors, such as working on behalf of the United Service Organizations.
Burr's early acting career included roles on Broadway, radio, television and in film, usually as the villain. His portrayal of the suspected murderer in the Alfred Hitchcock thriller, Rear Window (1954), is regarded as his best-known film role. He won two Emmy Awards, in 1959 and 1961, for the role of Perry Mason, which he played for nine seasons between 1957 and 1966. His second hit TV series, Ironside, earned him six Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations.
After Burr's death from cancer in 1993, his personal life came into question, as details of his known biography appeared to be unverifiable.
In 1996, Burr was listed as one of the 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time by TV Guide. A 2014 study found that Burr was rated as the favorite actor by Netflix users, with the greatest number of dedicated microgenres.

Steve St. John (Arizona State). In my opinion this was one of the biggest screw jobs by the ref. St. John clearly flees the mat and stalls the entire match, though you will have to appreciate his duck under in OT. Everyone was looking forward to seeing Mark Ironside face Cary Kolat in the finals since Ironside had defeated Kolat in the All-Star classic. Enjoy!

"I am taking to the road in the run-up to next year's Scottish Independence Referendum to talk to as many people as I can and to persuade my fellow Scotsmen to vote 'No'. The reasons are very simple: I want to rally people against the small-minded mendacity of the SNP because I believe it is the better solution for Scotland. We need to keep this small island united against the savage austerity policies of the Tories, not least because a newly-independent Scotland would feel the backlash just as much as the England she would leave behind. Breaking up this country into two or more parts would make all parties weaker, both internally and on the world stage. And I don't want that to happen for Scotland." - George Galloway

From Open Democracy: Trump’s election was a tragedy. But the outrage is its reframing – by the mainstream media and even sections of the left – as a revolt against ‘complacent liberal elites’. Media commentators were dismissive of Trump during his campaign. But now he’s President-elect they seem constrained for fear of echoing Hillary Clinton’s ‘basket of deplorables’ comment. Everyone is terrified of implying that the working class Americans who voted for Trump shot themselves in the foot. We may be dismayed by post-truth politics, but at the same time we tell ourselves that people see through it all. False consciousness has become the ultimate taboo. People are not stupid. But they are misinformed and misled. 72% of Americans agree 'the US economy is rigged to advantage the rich and ...

British MP George Galloway has walked out of a debate at Oxford University upon finding out that his opposite side is an Israeli. According to Thursday reports, Galloway immediately left the discussion session at the university's Christ Church College, after Eylon Aslan-Levy, accidentally revealed his Israeli origins. The British lawmaker was arguing that the Israeli regime should immediately withdraw from the occupied West Bank when Aslan-Levy used the word "we" to describe Israel's stance on the issue. "You said 'we'," said Galloway. "Are you an Israeli?" "I am, yes," Aslan-Levy replied. Galloway then said, "I don't debate with Israelis. I have been misled, sorry," reiterating as he walked out that, "I don't recognize Israel and I don't debate with Israelis." "I never debate with ...

You don't ask much now
You don't ask much of me, now
You don't belong here
But you'll never leave, now
Don't ask me, please, not anyone
Just let me be
I tried to be like anyone
When I'm alone with me
You took the long way
You took the long way home, again
Now, you sleep late
Now, you sleep alone with them
Don't ask me, please, not anyone
Just let me be
I tried to bleed like anyone
When I'm alone with me
Wouldn't it be sweet
To let a good thing die?
Make my life complete
Make me wonder why
Don't ask me, please, not anyone
Just let me be
I tried to bleed like anyone
