New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ new-ZEE-lənd, Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu – and numerous smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long isolation, New Zealand developed a distinctive biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.
Somewhere between 1250 and 1300 CE, Polynesians settled in the islands that were to become New Zealand, and developed a distinctive Māori culture. In 1642, Abel Tasman, a Dutch explorer, became the first European to sight New Zealand. In 1840, representatives of the British Crown and Māori Chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, making New Zealand a British colony. Today, the majority of New Zealand's population of 4.5 million is of European descent; the indigenous Māori are the largest minority, followed by Asians and Pacific Islanders. Reflecting this, New Zealand's culture is mainly derived from Māori and early British settlers, with recent broadening arising from increased immigration. The official languages are English, Māori and New Zealand Sign Language, with English predominant.
The America's Cup, affectionately known as the "Auld Mug", is a trophy awarded to the winner of the America's Cup match races between two sailing yachts. One yacht, known as the defender, represents the yacht club that currently holds the America's Cup and the second yacht, known as the challenger, represents the yacht club that is challenging for the cup. The timing of each match is determined by an agreement between the defender and the challenger. The America's Cup is the oldest international sporting trophy.
The trophy was originally awarded in 1851 by the Royal Yacht Squadron for a race around the Isle of Wight in England, which was won by the schooner America. The trophy was renamed the America's Cup after the yacht and was donated to the New York Yacht Club (NYYC) under the terms of the Deed of Gift, which made the cup available for perpetual international competition.
Any yacht club that meets the requirements specified in the Deed of Gift has the right to challenge the yacht club that holds the Cup. If the challenging club wins the match, it gains stewardship of the cup.
Team New Zealand (since 2007, with sponsorship by Emirates airline, known as Emirates Team New Zealand or ETNZ) is a sailing team based in Auckland, New Zealand representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
Team New Zealand has become a household name in their home country following their consecutive wins in the America's Cup in 1995 and 2000. In doing this, they became the first team from a country outside the United States to win and then defend the America's Cup. Their success in America's Cup competitions have contributed to New Zealand's reputation for producing world-class boat designers and sailors.
Three challenges were launched before the founding of Team New Zealand, all of these backed by Michael Fay.New Zealand Challenge competed in the 1987 Louis Vuitton Cup, the 1988 America's Cup and the 1992 Louis Vuitton Cup.
Following the 1992 America's Cup competition, Michael Fay withdrew from backing the New Zealand challenges for the Cup. A new effort under the leadership of Peter Blake and Alan Sefton began putting together a team, raising funds and gaining support for the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. Team New Zealand Limited was established as a registered company in 1993
A team is a group of people or other animals linked in a common purpose. Human teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks.
A group does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Naresh Jain (2009) claims:
Team members need to learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential, and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond his or her limitations. Teams can be broken down into from a huge team or one big group of people, even if these smaller secondary teams are temporary.
A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members.
Thus teams of game players can form (and re-form) to practise their craft/sport. Transport logistics executives can select teams of horses, dogs, or oxen for the purpose of conveying passengers or goods.
"America" is an American political advertisement released by the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. It premiered on January 21, 2016 via YouTube, and to air on television in Iowa and New Hampshire shortly before the Democratic Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.
The advertisement features "America," a song recorded by Simon & Garfunkel for their album Bookends (1968).
The ad starts with scenes of everyday American life over soft humming and gentle guitar strumming. As the line, "let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together" plays in the background, a middle-aged couple dances at a small Bernie Sanders for President rally. Then Sanders is seen speaking to a few people in a backyard. As the ad continues, the crowds grow larger and more enthusiastic. A montage of many Sanders supporters appear, as the words "They've all come to look for America" flash on the screen. Sanders is then seen addressing a large outdoor gathering, interacting one-on-one with supporters, appearing before more energetic crowds, finally ending in a large auditorium filled to capacity with cheering people.

In our World on Water 35th Americas Cup Report #7 Land Rover BAR nosedives and the spray is everywhere, Emirates Team NZ explain the pedal sytems and the AC yachts training on Bermudas' Great Sound.
In this WoW #8 Americas Cup Report Emirates Team New Zealand have a "close"near capsize as it looks like they had a late drop of the starboard foil and they tacked before it had time to settle in and they nearly snapped it as when they tacked it bent in all directions. That was close. On the other hand the defender Oracle Team USA had their secong capsize as they were just going along and tacked. They just slowly dropped their hull in and rolled ove 90%. Very gentle but it must be worrying to Larry. We have the actual fall over footage and the on-board cameras. Tyson Lamond of the SoftBank Team Japan, ETNZ putting the best on their bikes, we look at the design of the ETNZ helmets and training on the Great Sound. The final race of the America's Cup Match. Team New Zealand is one win away from winning and taking the cup back home to New Zealand. Team USA was not up to the tasks and after 9 races, New Zealand finished it challenge becoming the winner of the America's Cup Match 2017. What a great experience being here in Bermuda watching this years America's Cup, from the Round Robin, Challenger Semi Finals and the Challenger Finals. I hope all who have seen my clips have enjoyed them as much as I did making them. For my next journey, I will be heading to Japan for 2 months and then Thailand for one. This will be my first trip to the main island of Japan.
Well the races have started and one hugely funded Americas Cup team is about to break camp and fly home from the paradise Bermuda and leave the rest to fight out the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenge Series. And more importantly the Defender has to stand back and get on with their lone defence preparations. But they now rely on their huge "Spy Team" who record all the challnger action both on and off the water. In our Day 7 report we have interviews with Dean Barker, Peter Burling, Franck Cammas, Jimmy Spithill etc and Team coverage of the Days' action. Also how Oracle changed their damaged rudders and of course the Press Conference which yesterday we did learn something. Worth a look. Tomorrow we will have coverage of the June 03 race between Oracle(defender) and Emirates Team NZ the fastest ch...
Race 1 of the 2000 America's Cup held in Auckland New Zealand. Team New Zealand vs. Prada.
The most watched thing on the sailing social media last week wasn’t the America’s Cup – it was the Toyota/Vodafone live stream about the America’s Cup! Despite ACEA trying to shut them down time and time again, Martin Tasker and Peter Lester kept pushing their Kiwi-friendly narrative to the world, and it worked very, very well. Whilst the final Cup presser was reasonably good, this set of live-recorded interviews with all the key figures from the ETNZ base has quite a bit more information than that, and with a very fun backdrop. Watch it all for the keys to their victory, their disintegrating daggerboard, and much more.

Its just 36 hours out from the start of the 35th Americas Cup and Oracle Team USA and Emirates Team New Zealand pick up where they left off 4 years ago in San Francisco. In this episode we explore what ETNZ has to do to upset a very dominant and confident defender in Jimmy Spithill's Oracle Team USA. Will Oracles comeback from 8-1 down in 2013 come back to haunt ETNZ again or have they closed the door and moved on? We drill into the key differences between the boats and skippers, the battle of the press conference, the impact of the cyclists and exactly where Jimmy Spithill is likely to focus, to exploit weaknesses and gain advantage. With inspiration from Al Pacino and Jimmy Spithill himself, its winner takes all time in Bermuda. As Queen Victoria was told by her at...

To my man L.O.D., Def Squad
Hey yo, this goes out to my man
Adrissa "Knockout" Beauwright and Anthony "Apple" Ames
Word is bond
I'm talking to my peoples all across the land
Relate to the situation at hand
I know everybody done been in some shit
And ready to lay niggas to rest
Just proove it but check it
We done did it, seen it, done it, been through it
Swigged it, guzzled it, copped it, smuggled it
Rocked it, chopped it, locked it
Now we got the whole neighbourhood going through it
Ay yo, money in the hood makes the game go good
We only rock black jeans, black Timbs, and black hoods
Karl Kani wasn't even out, dressing fly
Rocking jams is what it was all about
We had dreams of doing shit niggas never heard of
Then damn my partner got murdered
CHORUS: (12)
(This goes out) To my mans
Hey yo, close the blinds when you cooking
My neighbours be looking
My nerves is shooken so fuck it I'm off to Brooklyn
To my cousin with the devilish grin, devilish way of livin
But fuck it, he's still chillin
Adrissa "Knockout" Beuwright druck 40s all night
While I did the mic something right
Catching wreck or we was playing ball
Getting busy in any little hole in the wall y'all
Street soldiers with good heads on our shoulders
Wanted to go to school to be doctors and lawyers
Well I got caught up in the system with two ounces
Had to do a little time in the big houses
Before I even knew it I felt it
Ay yo, yo your cousin Knockout got murdered, right?
Damn, that was my man
Ill keep holding on (2x)
I'm on the cutting edge cause I'm young and I'm black
Now I feel like I got a monkey on my back
But you know I'm stronger than that of course
I puff on El and stay mental just knockin em off
I'm just a bill on Capitol Hill
Listen to ym Squad members
Then we go for the kill
As I smell the vapors linger
I saw jealousy bring the anger in the chest with a banger
I'm on a rage against the machin, what I mean
I want to see my people
With more than just first of the month cream
The situation's always looking grim
Pregnant teenagers with kids and can't take care of em
For them niggas who did it, word to life
I'm a get with ya
Peace to my peoples, I'll never forget ya
CHORUS:
To my mans (2x)
I'll keep holdin on (4x)
