Construction of this elaborate temple complex - built in honour of the god Vishnu - began in AD 879 during the reign of King Suryavarman II and was completed in 1191. It lay concealed for many years, however, until the site was discovered by Frenchman Henri Mahout in 1860. The central complex, Angkor Wat, features an elaborate, unmortared 66-metre (215-foot) central tower surrounded by four s...
✱ 1.836 Hotels in Cambodia - Lowest Price Guarantee ► http://goo.gl/q1Tc0g Travel video about destination Cambodia. The kingdom of Cambodia is one of three nations within Indochina. A fertile country with a friendly population that appears to have forgotten its recent dramatic history that comprised French colonial times, Vietnamese occupation and the cruel rule of the Khmer Rouge. The former palaces of the gods have now been transformed into tourist attractions and regal splendour and shining pagodas indicate that a new era has begun. Phnom Penh is the reawakened capital of Cambodia and former Land of the Khmer. It is a wonderful city with all the charm of a bygone age. During the second half of the nineteenth century Phnom Penh became a French colonial town with wide streets, shops, gove...
With Siem Reap and the famous Angkor temples that were built here between the 9th and 15th centuries, Cambodia has one of the greatest tourist attractions anywhere in the world. Covering some 400sqks, the UNESCO World Heritage Angkor Archiological Park is home to scores of temples, canals, bridges and gateways. The most famous temple is Angkor Wat, built during the first half of the 12th century and today receives more than 2 million visitors a year. Best seen at dawn before the crowds arrive and as the sun turns the east face pink, it is a truly incredible site. Ta Prohm is famous for the temple strangling trees that seem to devour the ancient structures and my own favourite is the beautiful Angkor Thom, or Bayon Temple, with its serene collection of exquisitely carved faces. With so m...

Few countries have left more of an impression upon me than Cambodia. I've now visited four times and each and every time I had a completely different experience. I learned what I loved and what I disliked about the country. In particular, I became fond of cities such as Siem Reap and Battambang whereas I found Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville to be less appealing. The shining star attraction I could never get enough of was the Temples of Angkor. Cambodia is a country with a tragic past; however, the future appears to be brighter as it becomes more frequented by tourists every year. About a month ago, my sister Anna and cousin Carla decided to go on a spontaneous four day back packing trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was easily one of our best trips yet. In a country similar yet so culturally different from ours, we felt right at home. Discovering a new place like Siem Reap was so interesting for all of us. Learning their sad but beautiful history written all over the walls of their incredibly built temples, one will appreciate not only their temples but the people behind their culture that makes this place so... unique! As Camps International are opening a new camp in Cambodia i was sent there for 4 days after completing the Borneo trip. My mission was to travel from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh filming in a variety of locations from the Angkor Wat, Tonle Sap (largest lake in South East Asia) to the Killing Fields, S21 and the new community camp at Beng Mealea. The country was incredible filled with fascinating but disturbing history, amazing temples and the warmest and friendliest people you could imagine. The filming was very hectic and we were rushed around with our guide with the feeling that our feet never touched the ground. This trailer is a snap shot of what Cambodia is like and what you can expect to see on your travels there.

Updated: Made the video a little more concise and the music a little bit more interesting and not repetitive. Take a deep breath and go on a journey around South East Asia through leech-infested jungles, abandoned temples, and colorful coral reefs. It was a 2 months trip that gone by so fast, like taking one deep breath. This is no ordinary "inspiring" travel video. For this, I decided to go with a much more fun and action-packed style instead of the usual go-to "inspirational" travel style that I like to do.. and a delicious "disco" music. Everything is better with disco music. :) I also experimented on many ways of shooting and framing and I think most of the footages came out really well. I spent 2 months traveling around Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia with...
