Gender is the range of characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between, masculinity and femininity. Depending on the context, these characteristics may include biological sex (i.e. the state of being male, female or intersex), sex-based social structures (including gender roles and other social roles), or gender identity.
Sexologist John Money introduced the terminological distinction between biological sex and gender as a role in 1955. Before his work, it was uncommon to use the word gender to refer to anything but grammatical categories. However, Money's meaning of the word did not become widespread until the 1970s, when feminist theory embraced the concept of a distinction between biological sex and the social construct of gender. Today, the distinction is strictly followed in some contexts, especially the social sciences and documents written by the World Health Organization (WHO). However, in many other contexts, including some areas of social sciences, gender includes sex or replaces it. Although this change in the meaning of gender can be traced to the 1980s, a small acceleration of the process in the scientific literature was observed in 1993 when the USA's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) started to use gender instead of sex. In 2011, the FDA reversed its position and began using sex as the biological classification and gender as "a person's self representation as male or female, or how that person is responded to by social institutions based on the individual's gender presentation." In non-human animal research, gender is also commonly used to refer to the physiology of the animals.
William Sanford "Bill" Nye (born November 27, 1955), popularly known as Bill Nye the Science Guy, is an American science educator, comedian, television presenter, actor, writer, scientist, and former mechanical engineer, best known as the host of the Disney/PBS children's science show Bill Nye the Science Guy (1993–1998) and for his many subsequent appearances in popular media as a science educator.
Nye was born on November 27, 1955, in Washington, D.C., to Jacqueline (née Jenkins; 1921–2000), a codebreaker during World War II, and Edwin Darby "Ned" Nye (1917–1997), also a World War II veteran, whose experience without electricity in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp led him to become a sundial enthusiast. His maternal grandmother was French, from Dancevoir.
After attending Lafayette Elementary and Alice Deal Junior High in the city, he was accepted to the private Sidwell Friends School on a partial scholarship and graduated in 1973. He studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University (where he took an astronomy class taught by Carl Sagan) and graduated with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1977. Nye occasionally returns to Cornell as a guest-lecturer of introductory-level astronomy and human ecology classes.
A creative director is a position often found within the graphic design, film, music, fashion, advertising, media or entertainment industries, but may be useful in other creative organizations such as web development and software development firms as well.
A creative director is a vital role in all of the arts and entertainment industries. In another sense, they can be seen as another element in any product development process. The creative director may also assume the roles of an art director, copywriter, or lead designer. The responsibilities of a creative director include leading the communication design, interactive design, and concept forward in any work assigned. For example, this responsibility is often seen in industries related to advertisement. The creative director is known to guide a team of employees with skills and experience related to graphic design, fine arts, motion graphics, and other creative industry fields. Some example works can include visual layout, brainstorming, and copy writing. Before one assumes the role of a creative director, one must have a preset of experience beforehand. Like anyone else, these types of artists start up from the very beginning in fields that can relate to motion graphics, advertisement in television, and/or book (or magazine) publishing.

After over 150 thumbs up, I decided to talk about Gender. Understand that this video is my own opinion and if you wanted to hear about this, well then here it is. I know not everyone will agree, but that is fine. If everyone agreed with everyone, the world would be boring. ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/KENDRlCKS ►Apparel Store: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/EcysApparel ►Instagram: https://instagram.com/kendrlcks/ Wanna Get Partnered? ► https://www.freedom.tm/via/Ecy If I ever do talk about someone in a video i.e. a Rant, a Specific Video, or whatever, just know I am making that video solely for entertainment and not to get them any hate.

For 11 weeks me and two other people worked on this animation hoping to teach people a little about the gender and sexuality spectrum. This was for our Special Topics class. The goal was to choose a demographic then animate an educational video aimed at that demographic.

Gender Swap is an experiment that uses http://www.themachinetobeanother.org/ system as a platform for embodiment experience (a neuroscience technique in which users can feel themselves like if they were in a different body). In order to create the brain ilusion we use the immersive Head Mounted Display Oculus Rift, and first-person cameras. To create this perception, both users have to synchronize their movements. If one does not correspond to the movement of the other, the embodiment experience does not work. It means that both users have to constantly agree on every movement they make. Through out this experiment, we aim to investigate issues like Gender Identity, Queer Theory, feminist technoscience, Intimacy and Mutual Respect. It’s not every day that we get asked to combine feminism and a sense of humor in a project. So when MTV asked us to pitch ideas focused on bringing awareness to Gender Bias for their Look Different campaign, we may have actually pinched ourselves. Was this a dream project? Um, yes. Did we pitch a million ideas? Um, yes. Working in close collaboration with the team at MTV, we wrote, designed, and animated Gender Bent, a series of three videos that travel back in history to bust common gender myths with a uniquely MTV twist. In July 2014, Performing Gender project was back to Madrid! Silvia Gribaudi, Pablo Esbert Lilienfeld, Giorgia Nardin and Bruno Isakovic have returned to the Reina Sofia Museum in order to stage four new creations, the final result of their artistic and personal research on gender identities and sexual orientations. The week was organised by Paso a 2 Plataforma Coreográfica Asociación Cultural, the Spanish partner of the project. Performing Gender is a European dance project making use of artistic and cultural tools to open up a civil reflection on gender and sexual orientation differences. The project invites an international group of choreographers, dancers and visual artists to share a two year voyage of research and training based in different European cities: workshops, residencies a...

For the second instalment of Define Gender, our new series exploring how gender impacts our lives, Los Angeles-based director Ivan Olita travelled to the town of Juchitán in Oaxaca, Mexico, to explore the world of the muxes, who are considered the country's third gender—individuals who were assigned male at birth but live their lives as women. I wish I was infinite and given my way
I'd be so fucking cool
When I'm feeling the rush
I look at you through different eyes
I never knew my thoughts televise what you think
I'm the twin inside you
It's hard to believe what you say
Unaccepting what you've tried to show us
And nothing can fix what's incomplete
Can't get to us
Never get to us
And nothing can fix what's incomplete
Can't get to us
Never get to us
Refreshing your memories of times we've known
Constantly stumbling over reason
Where do these words go now so true
Covering no one else but you devour every modern day
It's hard to believe what you say
Unaccepting what you've tried to show us
And nothing can fix what's incomplete
Can't get to us
Never get to us
And nothing can fix what's incomplete
Can't get to us
Never get to us
Fell away in my dizziness I'm blinding
I wish I was obedient aren't I something
I'll never be rational I'm finding
My way to everyone in this velvet sky of mine
Boredom does nothing for me so why does it follow
Walking with deadbeats down the street i want everything
I'll be your idol Be your maker your everything
Your dirty dream designer
