On s'est aimé à cause

"On s'est aimé à cause" (meaning "We've Loved Each Other Because") is the third and last single released in Quebec from Celine Dion's French album D'elles. It was sent to the radio stations in August 2007.

Background and release

The lyrics were written by Françoise Dorin (author of "Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là)") and music by Marc Dupré and Jean-François Breau. Tino Izzo produced the track. Dion worked with Izzo already on "Plus haut que moi" in 1993 and "Tout près du bonheur" in 2005 (which she recorded as a duet with Dupré, who also co-wrote this song). Later, Izzo wrote also "A World to Believe In" for the Taking Chances album. Dion performed "On s'est aimé à cause" during the Quebecer TVA TV special dedicated to the issue of her album D'elles. There was no music video made for this track.

A cause

D'elles also includes another version of "On s'est aimé à cause," called "A cause" (meaning "Because"). It was recorded with music by Jacques Veneruso ("Sous le vent," "Tout l'or des hommes" and "Je ne vous oublie pas"), who also produced the track. The lyrics were modified to fit the danceable arrangement. "A cause" was supposed to be released as a radio single in France in January 2008. At the same time "Alone" was released to promote Dion's English album Taking Chances. Both tracks were included on the "A cause" promotional single.

Celine Dion

Céline Marie Claudette Dion, CC OQ ChLD (/ˈdiːɒn/;French: [selin d(z)ijɔ̃]; born 30 March 1968) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, businesswoman and occasional actress. Born into a large family from Charlemagne, Quebec, Dion emerged as a teen star in the French-speaking world after her manager and future husband René Angélil mortgaged his home to finance her first record. In addition, her 1995 album D'eux, is the best-selling French-language album of all time. However, in 1999 at the height of her success, Dion announced a hiatus from entertainment in order to start a family and spend time with her husband, who had been diagnosed with cancer. She returned to the top of pop music in 2002 and signed a three-year (later extended to almost five years) contract to perform nightly in a five-star theatrical show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Paradise, Nevada.

À cause de l'automne

"À cause de l'automne" (English: "because of the autumn [ Fall ] ") is the first single from the French recording artist Alizée's album 5. The single was pre-released on 28 June 2012, directly on Alizée's official website at 17:00 French time (CET). The single was released on French iTunes and French Amazon.fr on 4 July 2012, also was released same at iTunes and in e-music stores around the world. Other download platforms list 6 July 2012 for the release date. The first public performance of the song was on RFM radio on 21 December 2012 where she sang the song in live broadcast.

Background

On SACEM website was told that Alizée was working hard on the follow-up to the Une enfant du siècle and the new single would be expected to be released in early spring 2012.

On single cover Alizée is dressed in a fancy dress, with wild hairdo, and natural makeup. Alizée's appearance in the cover was very well received by critics.

Video

The first music video was shot on 15 July 2012 in Corsica. The director of the video clip is Laurent Darmon. On 18 September the music video leaked out through PS3 VidZone. On 19 September Jive Epic announced on Twitter that the leaked video is not the "official clip" of A cause de l'automne and that the official video would be released late October. After that Jive Epic and SME has been trying to remove the video clip from all the streaming websites.
