20 Things to do in Glasgow, Scotland Travel Guide
Join us for this travel guide to Glasgow, Scotland as we highlight 20 of the best things to do in Glasgow including visiting distilleries, trendy restaurants, hopping pubs, fascinating museums and more attractions.
This is our second time visiting Glasgow, UK and our city guide is a combination of footage from our visit this year and last year. Glasgow has a thriving food scene (both Scottish food and International) and we give you a thorough food tour as we bite our way around the city.
In terms of major attractions Glasgow (Glaschu) doesn't have many iconic places to visit as nearby Edinburgh; however, I feel one of the advantages it has over Edinburgh is that the city is more spread out and each neighborhood has a distinct character.

If we're being honest, we had no clue what to expect before arriving in Glasgow. We knew they were obviously known as the capital of Scotland & a major home for Scottish football, but there's SO MUCH to do in Glasgow & this video merely scratches the surface!
Today we start by going to Willow Grove for coffee. Willow Grove Coffee is a very popular coffee shop in Glasgow & the flat white tasted incredible! It's a really popular place & we highly recommend it!
We then made our way over to the University of Glasgow. We knew that this college would be impressive, but it wildly exc...

First Person point of view at one of the best cities in Europe.
Glasgow is back. Once the second city of the British Empire, when its shipping, industry and commerce circled the globe, it has reinvented itself as a cultural powerhouse of music, creative arts, theatre, design and innovative cuisine.
The transformation from a period of economic decline has been dramatic. It began in earnest in the 1980s, and by the end of the decade it had been proclaimed European City of Culture, followed by City of Architecture and Design, and Unesco City of Music – the first British city to win this accolade. The rusting shipyards faded into history, and in their place rose the striking futuristic architecture of award-winning museums and performance venues.
It remains one of the most eclectic architectural cities in Europe, with a wealth of extravagant Victorian buildings in red and blond sandstone with artistic flourishes. Look out for Italianate palazzo frontages, Art Nouveau masterpieces reminiscent of Gaudi, classical Greek and Roman motifs, and the lavish Spanish Renaissance style of its Kelvingrove Art Gallery.
Glasgow is a sociable city that has always known how to party. In the 1920s it had 81 ballrooms and dance halls, more than anywhere else in Britain, and thousands were still dancing to big bands in the famed Barrowland as German bombers roared overhead in the 1940s.
The music scene today is more diverse and dynamic, with scores of pubs and clubs rocking to indie bands, cool jazz, fiery folk and Latin rhythms, and concert halls showcasing the classics. An average of more than 100 music events take place each week, with international headline acts staged in the city’s stunning new SSE Hydro arena. Scotland’s national orchestra, opera and ballet companies have all based themselves in Glasgow, and in 2019 the city was voted Europe's leading festival and events destination in the World Travel Awards.
The city’s original Gaelic name, Glaschu, means ‘Green Place’ and it boasts one of the greatest arrays of public parks and woodland in Europe

20 Things to do in Glasgow, Scotland travel guide video transcript:
In today’s video we’re going to be showing you around Glasgow, Scotland. This is a city that we visited last autumn and then again this summer, and on both visits, we ate like kings and queens because it turns out, Glasgow is a great destination for foodies.
Since we never got around to making a travel guide on our first visit, today we’re going to be combining the footage from both of those trips to show you some of the best things to do in Glasgow and also some of the best places to eat and drink it. So let’s get started!
And that’s a wrap for our visit to Glasgow, Scotland. We loved our two visits and we’d gladly return for a 3rd. This is an amazing city for foodies and there are so many great bars, restaurants, breweries, and distilleries to visit.
Also FYI - if you’re already visiting Edinburgh, Glasgow is just a short 50-minute train ride away, and it’s a city with its own unique vibe.
If there are any other fun things to do in Glasgow that you’d like to share with travellers, feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below. Wishing you happy travels!
This is part of our Travel in Scotland video series showcasing Scottish food, Scottish culture and Scottish cuisine.

We cooperated with Visit Scotland for part of this project.

We knew that this college would be impressive, but it wildly exceeded our expectations! The cloisters gave a really cool Harry Potter feel & the university itself is one of the four oldest universities in the English-speaking world. University of Glasgow is an excellent spot to enjoy coffee while enjoying some spectacular scenery.
From there we hopped in the car & drove into the center of Glasgow to see Buchanan Street. This felt like the main thoroughfare in Glasgow & made for a great afternoon of window shopping. If you're looking to shop until you drop then this is the place for you!! While in the center of Glasgow, make sure to stop & see George Square. George Square is a central hub for the city & has a host of different statues of famous Scottish people who've done great things.
Shortly after we walked over to BrewDog Merchant City. This is a chain restaurant/brewery, but has an excellent selection of Scottish beers that we wanted to try. The barbecue & fries were an excellent treat along with our IPAs!
After sufficiently stuffing ourselves with good food & great beer, we decided to walk a bit to Glasgow Cathedral & the Necropolis behind it. This cathedral is truly stunning. From the vaulted ceilings to the crypt below, we were mesmerized by the architecture & couldn't believe this was free to tour (although donations are encouraged). Behind the Glasgow Cathedral is the Necropolis. Trey loves a good cemetery, & it's not hard to see why when you enter this. These Victorian headstones highlight the ornate tastes of previous generations. Make sure to walk through & marvel at some of the most beautiful headstones you'll find in Britain!
We finished our day by going to Ashton Lane. Ashton Lane is a cobblestoned backstreet in the West End of Glasgow. There are numerous bars & restaurants to choose from, & we opted with stopping at Innis & Gunn Brewery. We sampled some great beers & sandwiches before closing out our day in Glasgow. Glasgow's such an incredible city & we had such a great time. If you love good food & beer then add Glasgow to your itinerary next time you're in the UK!
Thank you so much for watching & subscribe if you're new as we'd love to have you on board this crazy journey! See you in a few days!

With more than 600.000 inhabitants Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland. Most of the historical sights and buildings as well as a number of large murals are located in the center making it easy to explore the city by walking. Another great thing is that most of the museums are free of charge.
One of the highlights for me was the Glasgow Necropolis, a Victorian cemetery located on a very prominent hill to the east of Glasgow Cathedral.
I met up with Kathi who lives in Glasgow for more than 4 years to get to know the trendy parts of the city such as the Hidden Lane in Finnieston and the SWG3 followed by one of the must things to do in Glasgow - ia proper whiskey experience and a night out with live music!
In the series „Life by the River“ I’m about to show you things to do on & off the beaten path focussing on hip & trendy areas with the help of locals in Glasgow, Manchester and Liverpool. Man stabbed '18 times in 25 seconds' on train
A security camera shows the moment Lee Pomeroy was stabbed 18 times in 25 seconds, on a train from Guildford to London in January.
The Old Bailey sat in silence during the graphic clip of the "quick and frenzied" attack on a train from Guildford to Waterloo.
The 51-year-old was stabbed by fellow passenger Darren Pencille on 4 January.

I’ve Spent £40,000 On Fixing My Botched Hair Transplant And Now I’m Warning Others | This Morning
Last week, a London clinic offered £15,000 in compensation to a Royal Opera House actor who claimed he was left with a ‘wonky hairline’ following surgery in 2015. But, in an industry expected to be worth nearly £25 billion by 2025 - why are so many men being left with botched hair transplants? After undergoing his first transplant 20 years ago, Spencer Stevenson has since spent more than £40,000 to achieve his dream head of hair. And, as he warns others to do their homework - he’s joining us alongside Dr Greg Vida from the Harley Street Hair Clinic.

A jury in its 11th day of deliberation emerged on Tuesday at the Montreal courthouse with verdicts in the case involving the death of an inmate at the Montreal Detention Centre two years ago.
The jury found Tarik Biji guilty of second-degree murder in the death of fellow inmate Michel Barrette, a heroin addict who had just smuggled tobacco into the detention centre days before he was beaten to death on June 21, 2016.
Two other inmates who took part in the beating — Garmy Guerrier and Jason Côté — were convicted of manslaughter. All three men were also convicted of aggravated assault.

After undergoing his first transplant 20 years ago, Spencer Stevenson has since spent more than £40,000 to achieve his dream head of hair. And, as he warns others to do their homework - he’s joining us alongside Dr Greg Vida from the Harley Street Hair Clinic.
