With more than 10 years’ experience in STM publishing industry, Yan has taken various positions including Publisher for Environmental Sciences journals, Health and Medical Sciences journals as well as Senior Manager of Elsevier’s Publishing Content Department. Currently Yan is responsible for a portfolio of international energy journals with over 30,000 yearly submissions, including global leading journals such as Applied Energy, Energy, Energy Conversion and Management, and also newly launched journals like eTransportation, Energy and AI, Advances in Applied Energy, etc. Her main responsibilities include developing global strategy to grow Elsevier’s energy portfolio, identifying editorial candidates and recruiting editors, launching new journals and managing overall performance of established journals. She graduated from School of Environment of Tsinghua University, China, and has also studied in UK, Sweden, the Netherlands and Poland. Dr. Lee Keat Teong Dr. Lee Keat Teong obtained his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2004. He is currently holding the position of Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and he is also the Director of Research Creativity & Management Office, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Dr. Lee has co-authored 2 books, 10 book chapters, 35 review papers and more than 110 research papers in peer reviewed international journals. Dr. Lee is currently the Co-Editor for Energy Conversion and Management (Elsevier) and Editorial Board Member for Bioresource Technology (Elsevier) and Energy Science & Engineering (Wiley). He has also won numerous awards including Young Scientist Award 2011 by The International Forum on Industrial Bioprocess, 2012 Top Research Scientists Malaysia by the Academy Sciences of Malaysia and Malaysia's Rising Star Award 2016 for the Young Researcher Category by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. Prof. Patricia Thornley Patricia Thornley is director of the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute at Aston University. She is a chartered physicist with over 25 years’ experience working on bioenergy energy projects in industry and academia. She has been director of the UK’s SUPERGEN Bioenergy hub (www.supergen-bioenergy.net) since 2012, which is funded by the UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and Biological and Biochemical Sciences Research Council to bring together academia, industry and other stakeholders to focus on sustainable bioenergy development. Her main research interests are in whole systems analysis of bioenergy, greenhouse gas balances and feedstock sustainability. She has particular interests in combustion, gasification and synthesis of alternative fuel vectors from renewable resources, evaluating the sustainability of such low carbon alternatives and has worked on several commercial biomass and waste plants.
