CINEMA 4D is a 3D modeling, animation and rendering application developed by MAXON Computer GmbH in Germany. It is capable of procedural and polygonal/subd modeling, animating, lighting, texturing, rendering, and common features found in 3D modelling applications.
Four variants are currently available from MAXON: a core CINEMA 4D 'Prime' application, a 'Broadcast' version with additional motion-graphics features, 'Visualize' which adds functions for architectural design and 'Studio', which includes all modules.
2014 saw the release of a 5th variant, "Lite", which comes packaged with Adobe After Effects Creative Cloud 2014, and acts as an introductory version, with many features withheld. This is part of a new partnership between the two companies, where a new, MAXON produced plug-in called CINEWARE, allows any variant to create a seamless workflow with After Effects. The "Lite" variant is dependent on After Effects CC, needing the latter application running to launch, and is only sold as a package component included with AE CC 2014 through Adobe.
Cinema may refer to:
Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application developed by Adobe Systems and used in the post-production process of filmmaking and television production. Among other things, After Effects can be used for keying, tracking, rotoscoping, compositing and animation. It also functions as a very basic non-linear editor, audio editor and media transcoder.
Adobe After Effects is software primarily used for creating motion graphics and visual effects. It allows users to animate, edit, and compose media in 2D or 3D space with many different built-in tools and third party plug-ins which can be downloaded from the Internet depending on what type of plug in the user is looking for. It also provides individual attention to variables like parallax and also user adjustable angles of observation.
Adobe After Effects is a layer-oriented program. Each individual media object like video clips, still images, audio clips, etc. runs on its own. In contrast, other Non-Linear Editing Systems use a system where individual media objects can occupy the same track as long as they do not overlap at the same time. This track-oriented system is more suitable for editing and can keep project files more simple. The layer oriented system that Adobe After Effects has is suitable for extensive video effects work and also key framing. Other compositing packages, especially the ones that employ tree or node workflows, such as Nuke and Fusion, are better suited to managing complex interconnected data flow within a composite. Adobe After Effects is capable of countering the problem somewhat by selectively hiding layers or by grouping them into pre-compositions.

Here's a time-lapse I made! This is my first attempt at compositing with the Octane render. Still have lots to learn but I think it turned out pretty nice. Hopefully you'll be able to see some techniques in this video, even though it's a bit.. quick.
This tutorial focuses on creating textures inside Cinema 4d's shaders along with a few tips on modeling, lighting, and post-production. I recommend that you're familiar with the basics of Cinema 4d as I don't spend time explaining every step. Sorry about the audio. I used sub-par equipment on it and I'm not too experienced in editing audio. In this tutorial we'll see how to make an unfolding polygons effect to reveal a surface, using MoGraph. I got inspired for this effect from Paul Clements' awesome "Headphones Breakdown" video.
In this tutorial, I go over a few different techniques in Cinema 4D to get that low-poly style that has been popping up around the web lately. I will show you how to use the Connect Object, the Displacer Deformer and the Polygon Reduction deformer to get this specific technique working on your models or shapes. I'm not exactly sure how the actual artists are doing this cool stuff, but this is what I found to work pretty well. See the full Blog Post Here: http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/?p=12497
Camera Mapping is a 3D technic that allowes you to convert a single image into a scene with 3D camera movement. Everything you see in this video is made of single photos. I used Cinema 4D for the camera mapping and animation as well as Adobe Premiere for the final cut and color grading. I hope you like it! I had the honor to design the new Cinema 4D logo with the team of Aixsponza. Manuel was invited for a pitch in Oktober 2010 to represent ideas for a new redesign. In the very first phase we did a wide range of possible ideas and designs. Manuel and I had a lot of fun to creatively rave for two week straight forward in the very first phase. We´ve been working on the new logo design for over 6 months and created a new and fresh identity. At the end we tried to find a uniqe shape but didn´t want to lose the connection between the old an the new logo. This is a collection of the whole designs we did for the logo redesign. It was launched in august 2011 with the representation of the new R13 Version of Cinema 4D. In this video I talk about creating the popular low poly look in Cinema 4D. My approach this time was to do a time-lapse of an actual creation then to add a voice over on top. I hope this works for all of you. If you have any questions feel free to drop them below or hit me up on twitter @samwelkertv. Disclaimer: I did get my wisdom teeth out earlier in the week and I am still a little out of it as a result. If you can't handle that, I apologize. Looking for inspiration? I've put together some links on my blog post pointing you to some good artists around the web: http://wp.me/p1PALB-7L
