Summit Entertainment LLC (formerly Summit Entertainment LP) is an American film production company and distributor. It is a subsidiary of Lions Gate Entertainment, headquartered in Universal City, California with international offices in London.
Summit Entertainment was originally founded in 1991 by film producers Bernd Eichinger, Arnon Milchan, and Andrew G. Vajna, initially to handle film sales in foreign countries. Summit later expanded into producing and co-financing films in 1995, and started fully financing films by 1997. Summit officially launched in 1993 by Patrick Wachsberger, Bob Hayward and David Garrett under the name Summit Entertainment LP as a production, distribution, and sales organization. Among the company's early successes was American Pie, which Summit distributed outside of English-speaking territories. In 2006, it became a fully independent film production company, Summit Entertainment, with the addition of Rob Friedman, a former executive at Paramount Pictures. The new company added major development, production, acquisitions, marketing and distribution branches with a financing deal led by Merrill Lynch and other investors giving it access to over $1 billion in financing. With that, Summit established the home video distribution due to the production of the Twilight film series. Summit is also distributed theatrically and on DVD in Europe and in Canada by Entertainment One.
Entertainment is a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience, or gives pleasure and delight. It can be an idea or a task, but is more likely to be one of the activities or events that have developed over thousands of years specifically for the purpose of keeping an audience's attention. Although people's attention is held by different things, because individuals have different preferences in entertainment, most forms are recognisable and familiar. Storytelling, music, drama, dance, and different kinds of performance exist in all cultures, were supported in royal courts, developed into sophisticated forms and over time became available to all citizens. The process has been accelerated in modern times by an entertainment industry which records and sells entertainment products. Entertainment evolves and can be adapted to suit any scale, ranging from an individual who chooses a private entertainment from a now enormous array of pre-recorded products; to a banquet adapted for two; to any size or type of party, with appropriate music and dance; to performances intended for thousands; and even for a global audience.
A summit is a point on a surface that is higher in elevation than all points immediately adjacent to it. Mathematically, a summit is a local maximum in elevation. The topographic terms "acme", "apex", "peak", and "zenith" are synonyms.
The term "summit" is generally only used for a mountain peak with some significant amount of topographic prominence (height above the lowest point en route to the nearest higher peak) or topographic isolation (distance from the nearest point of higher elevation); for example, a boulder next to the main summit of a mountain is not considered a summit. Summits near a higher peak, with some prominence or isolation, but not reaching a certain cutoff value for these quantities, are often considered subsummits (or subpeaks) of the higher peak, and are considered as part of the same mountain. The UIAA definition is that a summit is independent if it has a prominence of 30 metres (98 ft) or more; it is a mountain if it has a prominence of at least 300 metres (980 ft). This can be summarised as follows:

At last we have the opening logos from La La Land, my favorite movie of 2016 and my pick for the 2017 Academy Award for Best Picture (as well as the other thirteen Academy Awards it got nominated for). UPDATE: La La Land won the 2017 Academy Award for Best Picture...for about three minutes. Turns out the award was supposed to go to Moonlight, and the presenters announced the wrong winner. Nevertheless, La La Land did win 6 of the awards, the most of any movie at the ceremony: Best Actress, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Original Song (for City of Stars), and Best Production Design.

Hercules is a 2014 American 3D action fantasy adventure film directed by Brett Ratner, written by Ryan J. Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos and starring Dwayne Johnson, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell and John Hurt. It is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars.[3] Distributed jointly by Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer,[4] it was released on July 25, 2014. It is one of two Hollywood-studio Hercules films released in 2014, the other being Summit Entertainment's The Legend of Hercules. The film earned $244 million on a $100 million budget and received mixed reviews from critics, who, however, praised the action sequences and Johnson's acting. Hercules was released on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD on November 4, 2014 by Paramount Home Entertainment.
