Ageless Beauty was the fifth single released by the Canadian indie pop group Stars. It was the second single from the critically acclaimed album Set Yourself on Fire. It was featured in a promotional trailer for VH1's show So NoTORIous as well as the pop culture review Best Year Ever.
A music video for the single was released which follows the experiences of a teenaged girl at a party; as the story unfolds, the camera frequently cuts away to show the band (Stars) playing the song itself. In the narrative portion of the video, a teenaged girl reluctantly enters a house where a party is underway after being encouraged to do so by an older woman, presumably her mother. As she enters the house, she is confronted by other teenaged party-goers who laugh at her and make derisive gestures and facial expressions. Making her way to the back of the house, the girl pauses at a mirror, and as she looks at herself in it, a gleam of light suddenly emerges from within her coat. Startled, she turns to leave, but she is seized by a group of girls who apparently intend to bully her. They pull her into the living room, and as the girl struggles to free herself, her coat falls open revealing a "galaxy" of stars turning on her chest which in turn projects a larger galaxy on the ceiling of the room. Amazed, the bullies stand looking up at the rotating galaxy of stars on the ceiling.
Most Serene Republic (Serenissima Respublica in Latin) is a title attached to a number of European states through history. By custom, the appellation "Most Serene" is an indicator of sovereignty (see also Serene Highness or Most Serene Highness for a sovereign prince); consequently "Most Serene Republic" emphasizes the sovereignty of the republic.
San Marino is the only modern independent state to use the style. Although officially named simply the "Republic of San Marino", short form "San Marino", it is unofficially still referred to as the Most Serene Republic of San Marino (Italian: Serenissima Repubblica di San Marino).

The Most Serene Republic is a Canadian indie rock music group formed in 2003 in Milton. The band takes its name from the sobriquet of Venice under the Doges, which was regarded as "The Most Serene Republic of Venice".
Past members:
The roots of the band were planted in 2003 when Ryan Lenssen and Adrian Jewett formed Thee Oneironauts (O-nye-rawn-nauts). The pair recorded and self-released an EP entitled Night of the Lawnchairs on the GROK Studios imprint, which had also released Lenssen's concept band "Rushing To Redlights". The Oneironauts grew to trio status with the addition of Nick Greaves on guitar before ultimately becoming The Most Serene Republic.
Your Ex-Lover Is Dead was the sixth single released by the Canadian indie pop group Stars. It is the opening track on their album Set Yourself on Fire. The track begins with the voice of lead singer Torquil's father Douglas Campbell saying, "When there is nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire." The song was listed as the 298th best song of the 2000s by Pitchfork Media. The music video shows the band lying on their backs, playing their instruments, while on ice outdoors, possibly in reference to the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
The song was featured on the Season 5 finale of the popular Canadian teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. This track is also featured on the album Music from the OC: Mix 5. On the first season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Caroline Torti was eliminated after dancing her solo to this song, on October 30, 2008.
"Your Ex-Lover Is Dead" was featured on Fox network's So You Think You Can Dance, season 6. Ex-contestant and choreographer Travis Wall chose it as the track for his piece danced by Ellenore Scott and Ryan Di Lello. It appears in a number of films including the 2008 Italian movie Caos Calmo (Quiet Chaos), the soundtrack for the 2010 Canadian indie film Daydream Nation, starring Kat Dennings as well as appearing in the concluding scene of Tanner Hall (2009).

A great mix. But I love the 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' soundtrack anyway, so sampling it for this song immediately put it on my faves.

The first time, in your backyard Underneath the plastic sheeting Outside, it was pouring And we were drunk as shit Next time, at a party When all our friends were there There's nothing like their mattresses Underneath the stairs The third time, in a doorway With the lights all on around us And the audience beside us And the old man watching from a tree Fourth time, I said that's that You've agreed to give me everything Now I've got to ask you one more thing Keep doing that forever Fifth time in your bedroom And finally, we rested And you leaned upon your elbow And began to speak to me But you stopped yourself and kissed me And I grabbed your lips and told you I know, I know, I know I feel the same as you And everyday, it's changed since then In every w...

Remix of Ageless beauty on the album 'Do you trust your friends?'
When you found him he was lying in the road
You held him in your arms so he was safe
And you talked for hours, soft and quiet
You watched the light change as if you came from it
And you both laughed at the dumb things we repeat
That buy us time or keep us with the other sheep
We marry our fear but what makes the night not so deep
Is someone to watch over us while we sleep
You found him lying on the road
You traveled miles but never got too far
He lost his heart when you were bringing out the stars
When you were bringing out the stars
And you said
Isn’t the night beautiful
Feel the weightlessness
At the heart of things
It made him laugh
‘Cause it made him remember
How easy it is
To love to
Your arms
They were everything
They fill the sky
Like Jimi’s guitar
And he lost his heart
When you were bringing out the stars
Then in the morning
He walked you down
He knew
He had to let you go
And all day he wore
A smile
‘Cause he saw the joy
