Today I review one of the best dual time zone timepieces I have come across so far, the Sinn 856 UTC. I also countdown my personal top 5 GMT watches including the Omega Seamaster 300m, Orient Star Seeker, Seiko Map Meter SLT109P2, Glycine Airman and and course the Rolex GMT Master and Master II.

This video looks at the Rolex GMT Master II. The BLNR is the first to introduce the two tone cerachrome bezel. This is the first time they used the Black and Blue combination and first color combination with a cerachrome bezel. Previously Rolex has done the blue and red (Pepsi), red and black (Coke), all black, and now the Black and Blue (a.k.a Batman, Bruiser, BLNR).

The ceramic blue reacts to different lighting with different shades of blue, which is one of the reasons people love this watch. There are several things to love about this watch and very few things not to like.
I really wish all Rolex's had the glidelock clasp, but the easylink gets the job done.
Note: I made a mistake with the timezone explaination. I said noon when I should've said midnight and swapped the two. Even though midnight is black and blue is noon. My bad!
Things to keep an eye on:
Cyclops Magnification - some models have smaller than normal magnification recently 2014-2015 models
Polished centerlinks get dirty easily.
Its expensive, try to get as many perks from the AD as possible, extended warranty, swag, etc. because your chances of a discount is almost none.
Finally, I'm just getting started with the Channel and trying to make improvements as I go. So I know I will make mistakes, but I'm working on it.

The review of the Rolex Batman was definitely long overdue! More formerly known as the Rolex GMT Master II 116710 BLNR, the Batman is a watch that's in high demand in the the world of watch collecting.
As I mentioned on my previous GMT video review, the Rolex GMT became one of my favorite Rolex models from the moment my dad gave me one for my 18th birthday. Nevertheless, the Batman is a special kind of GMT. It just looks different.
While the standard, stainless steel Rolex GMT II comes with a black ceramic bezel, the Batman doesn't. It actually sports the colors of Batman: blue and black.
This is one of the biggest differences when compared with the standard, stainless GMT, as both GMT models [other than for some visual cues] are practially the same (40mm diameter, ceramic bezel, etc.). Using a process that Rolex developed, the Swiss watch manufacturer is now able to apply a two-color blend to the bezel of their watches. This is how the Rolex 116710BLNR gets its superhero appearance.
There are some other visual differences when it comes to the Rolex Batman. The actual GMT (or dual timezone) hand comes in blue instead of green. The Batman dial also displays the phrase “GMT-MASTER II” in white instead of green over the 6 o'clock marker.
Rolex Batman Price
A good price for a pre-owned Rolex Batman watch is from $8,200 to $8,300. For a brand new watch, you might pay a price that's between $9,400 to $10,000.
The reason that the price of a new Rolex 116710 BLNR is relatively closer to the price of a pre-owned version is DEMAND. In the watch industry, the demand for the Batman is high and has been steady or rising for years. When many clients want to buy one, they can't find the watch easily.
This is also the reason why a Batman fetches a nice premium when compared to the standard stainless steel GMT II, which can be found preowned for close to $6,750.
GMT Batman and the Watch Game!
The Rolex Batman is a very versatile watch. You can wear it with a suit or with shorts. It's good both on water and land.
The black and blue bezel on the Batman definitely enhances the overall appearance of the watch, bumping it up at least a notch in the Watch Game. Not that there's anything wrong with the standard black-bezel GMT, but the Batman just has a different level of appeal to it.
I love the Rolex GMT II Batman so much, that I dare to say that it has almost replaced the stigma and status of the stainless Daytona!

Greenwich Mean Time
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is the mean solar time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London. Rolex GMT Master II
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date GMT Master is part of the Rolex Professional Watch Collection. Designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways for use by their pilots and navigators, it was launched in 1954.
History
The Rolex GMT-Master wristwatch was originally designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways and issued by the airline to their crews on long-haul flights. ("GMT" in the name stands for Greenwich Mean Time now known as Coordinated Universal Time). The original GMT Master watch has a 24-hour display fourth hand complication directly linked to and displaying the same time zone as the standard 12-hour hand. This GMT hand enabled the crews to set the watch to GMT or another time zone, and using the rotatable 24-hour scale bezel set to the correct offset a second time zone could be read. GMT or UTC is the time zone that is required for all aviation planning, weather forecasts, schedules and other paperwork. Among known characters, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara wore a Rolex GMT Master.

Miles Master
The Miles M.9 Master was a British 2-seat monoplane advanced trainer built by Miles Aircraft Ltd for the Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm during the Second World War. It went through a number of variants according to engine availability and was even modified as an emergency fighter during the Battle of Britain. It was a fast, strong and fully aerobatic aircraft and served as an excellent introduction to the high performance British fighter aircraft of the day: the Spitfire and Hurricane.
Design and development
The M.9A Master I was based on the M.9 Kestrel trainer that was first demonstrated at the Hendon Air show in July 1937, although it never entered production. The M.9 Kestrel, powered by the 745 hp (555 kW) Rolls-Royce Kestrel XVI V-12 engine, could reach 296 mph (477 km/h). The Air Ministry had selected the de Havilland Don as its advanced trainer, but this proved to be a failure, and the RAF placed a £2 million order for 500 examples of a modified version of the Kestrel, the M.9A Master. Miles rebuilt the prototype M.9 to form a prototype for the Master, fitting a lower powered (715 hp (535 kW)) Rolls-Royce Kestrel XXX engine, of which there were large surplus stocks available, and with extensive revisions to the airframe, which included a new cockpit canopy, a modified rear fuselage and tail, and moving the radiator from under the nose to under the centre-section of the wing. These modifications significantly reduced the aircraft's speed, but it remained one of the fastest and most maneuverable trainers of its day. The first true production Master I made its maiden flight on 31 March 1939. The Master entered service just before the start of the war, and eventually 900 Mk. I and Mk. IA Masters were built. This total included 26 built as the M.24 Master Fighter which were modified to a single-seat configuration, and armed with six .303 in machine guns for use as an emergency fighter, but did not see combat.

This video looks at the Rolex GMT Master II. The BLNR is the first to introduce the two tone cerachrome bezel. This is the first time they used the Black and Blue combination and first color combination with a cerachrome bezel. Previously Rolex has done the blue and red (Pepsi), red and black (Coke), all black, and now the Black and Blue (a.k.a Batman, Bruiser, BLNR). Specs: 904L Stainless Steel Maxi Dial (bigger hour markers) 40mm 3186 Movement EasyLink adjustment Polished centerlinks Solid centerlinks & thicker clasp The ceramic blue reacts to different lighting with different shades of blue, which is one of the reasons people love this watch. There are several things to love about this watch and very few things not to like. I really wish all Rolex's had the glidelock clasp, but the easylink gets the job done. Note: I made a mistake with the timezone explaination. I said noon when I should've said midnight and swapped the two. Even though midnight is black and blue is noon. My bad! Things to keep an eye on: Cyclops Magnification - some models have smaller than normal magnification recently 2014-2015 models Polished centerlinks get dirty easily. Its expensive, try to get as many perks from the AD as possible, extended warranty, swag, etc. because your chances of a discount is almost none. Finally, I'm just getting started with the Channel and trying to make improvements as I go. So I know I will make mistakes, but I'm working on it. Thanks for watching! More formerly known as the Rolex GMT Master II 116710 BLNR, the Batman is a watch that's in high demand in the the world of watch collecting. As I mentioned on my previous GMT video review, the Rolex GMT became one of my favorite Rolex models from the moment my dad gave me one for my 18th birthday. Nevertheless, the Batman is a special kind of GMT. It just looks different. While the standard, stainless steel Rolex GMT II comes with a black ceramic bezel, the Batman doesn't. It actually sports the colors of Batman: blue and black. This is one of the biggest differences when compared with the standard, stainless GMT, as both GMT models [other than for some visual cues] are practially the same (40mm diameter, ceramic bezel, etc.). Using a process that Rolex developed, the Swiss watch manufacturer is now able to apply a two-color blend to the bezel of their watches. This is how the Rolex 116710BLNR gets its superhero appearance. There are some other visual differences when it comes to the Rolex Batman. The actual GMT (or dual timezone) hand comes in blue instead of green. The Batman dial also displays the phrase “GMT-MASTER II” in white instead of green over the 6 o'clock marker. Rolex Batman Price A good price for a pre-owned Rolex Batman watch is from $8,200 to $8,300. For a brand new watch, you might pay a price that's between $9,400 to $10,000. The reason that the price of a new Rolex 116710 BLNR is relatively closer to the price of a pre-owned version is DEMAND. In the watch industry, the demand for the Batman is high and has been steady or rising for years. When many clients want to buy one, they can't find the watch easily. This is also the reason why a Batman fetches a nice premium when compared to the standard stainless steel GMT II, which can be found preowned for close to $6,750. GMT Batman and the Watch Game! The Rolex Batman is a very versatile watch. You can wear it with a suit or with shorts. It's good both on water and land. The black and blue bezel on the Batman definitely enhances the overall appearance of the watch, bumping it up at least a notch in the Watch Game. Not that there's anything wrong with the standard black-bezel GMT, but the Batman just has a different level of appeal to it. I love the Rolex GMT II Batman so much, that I dare to say that it has almost replaced the stigma and status of the stainless Daytona! What do you think of the Batman? Whether you are a pilot changing timezones or a frequent traveler, this feature to keep track of loved ones and families overseas is one I find especially useful. Today I review one of the best dual time zone timepieces I have come across so far, the Sinn 856 UTC. I also countdown my personal top 5 GMT watches including the Omega Seamaster 300m, Orient Star Seeker, Seiko Map Meter SLT109P2, Glycine Airman and and course the Rolex GMT Master and Master II.

This video looks at the Rolex GMT Master II. The BLNR is the first to introduce the two tone cerachrome bezel. This is the first time they used the Black and Blue combination and first color combination with a cerachrome bezel. Previously Rolex has done the blue and red (Pepsi), red and black (Coke), all black, and now the Black and Blue (a.k.a Batman, Bruiser, BLNR).

904L Stainless Steel
Maxi Dial (bigger hour markers)
40mm
3186 Movement
EasyLink adjustment
Polished centerlinks
Solid centerlinks & thicker clasp
The ceramic blue reacts to different lighting with different shades of blue, which is one of the reasons people love this watch. There are several things to love about this watch and very few things not to like.
I really wish all Rolex's had the glidelock clasp, but the easylink gets the job done.
Note: I made a mistake with the timezone explaination. I said noon when I should've said midnight and swapped the two. Even though midnight is black and blue is noon. My bad!
Things to keep an eye on:
Cyclops Magnification - some models have smaller than normal magnification recently 2014-2015 models
Polished centerlinks get dirty easily.
Its expensive, try to get as many perks from the AD as possible, extended warranty, swag, etc. because your chances of a discount is almost none.
Finally, I'm just getting started with the Channel and trying to make improvements as I go. So I know I will make mistakes, but I'm working on it.

The review of the Rolex Batman was definitely long overdue! More formerly known as the Rolex GMT Master II 116710 BLNR, the Batman is a watch that's in high demand in the the world of watch collecting.
As I mentioned on my previous GMT video review, the Rolex GMT became one of my favorite Rolex models from the moment my dad gave me one for my 18th birthday. Nevertheless, the Batman is a special kind of GMT. It just looks different.
While the standard, stainless steel Rolex GMT II comes with a black ceramic bezel, the Batman doesn't. It actually sports the colors of Batman: blue and black.
This is one of the biggest differences when compared with the standard, stainless GMT, as both GMT models [other than for some visual cues] are practially the same (40mm diameter, ceramic bezel, etc.). Using a process that Rolex developed, the Swiss watch manufacturer is now able to apply a two-color blend to the bezel of their watches. This is how the Rolex 116710BLNR gets its superhero appearance.
There are some other visual differences when it comes to the Rolex Batman. The actual GMT (or dual timezone) hand comes in blue instead of green. The Batman dial also displays the phrase “GMT-MASTER II” in white instead of green over the 6 o'clock marker.
Rolex Batman Price
A good price for a pre-owned Rolex Batman watch is from $8,200 to $8,300. For a brand new watch, you might pay a price that's between $9,400 to $10,000.
The reason that the price of a new Rolex 116710 BLNR is relatively closer to the price of a pre-owned version is DEMAND. In the watch industry, the demand for the Batman is high and has been steady or rising for years. When many clients want to buy one, they can't find the watch easily.
This is also the reason why a Batman fetches a nice premium when compared to the standard stainless steel GMT II, which can be found preowned for close to $6,750.
GMT Batman and the Watch Game!
The Rolex Batman is a very versatile watch. You can wear it with a suit or with shorts. It's good both on water and land.
The black and blue bezel on the Batman definitely enhances the overall appearance of the watch, bumping it up at least a notch in the Watch Game. Not that there's anything wrong with the standard black-bezel GMT, but the Batman just has a different level of appeal to it.
I love the Rolex GMT II Batman so much, that I dare to say that it has almost replaced the stigma and status of the stainless Daytona!
