A popular landing spot for most new amateur radio operators is the two meter band. MTV EXIT and Simple Plan, in partnership with USAID and Walk Free, have produced a music video for the band’s track “This Song Saved My Life” to highlight the dangers and impact of human trafficking. The track, from the album “Get Your Heart On!” features lyrics crowd sourced from Simple Plan’s devoted fans on Twitter.
Directed by Ash Bolland and produced by 18 Feet & Rising in Sydney, the music video launched globally on November 2nd, 2012.

A very hard one to make...
Shot on the Canon C300 in Pittsburgh, PA. and surrounding areas. We decide to bring Plan B a famous reggaeton puerto rican band to the cinematic city of Braddock, PA.
Very intense and condense 4 day shoot with a minimal crew and a not so good production...
During the 4 shooting days we had all kinds of weather, rain and heat... We start the shot with jackets and finished in shorts.
Unfortunately is one of my worst projects, I made a lot of mistakes and I kind of lost it. I feel a bit disappointed about myself... but I guess that's the way I like to learn, and there's so much to learn out there.
Hopefully things will get better...

Bandplan
A bandplan or band plan is a plan for using a particular band of radio frequencies, that are a portion of the electromagnetic spectrum . Each bandplan defines the frequency range to be included, how channels are to be defined, and what will be carried on those channels. Typical definitions set forth in a bandplan are:

The Black Page
"The Black Page #1" is a piece by American composer Frank Zappa known for being extraordinarily difficult to play. Originally written for the drum kit and melodic percussion (as "The Black Page Drum Solo"), the piece was later rearranged in several versions, including the disco "easy teenage New York version" (commonly referred to as "The Black Page #2") and a so-called "new-age version", among others.
Drummer Terry Bozzio said of the piece:
On the double live album Zappa in New York (recorded 12/1976, released 3/1978), Zappa noted the "statistical density" of the piece. It is written in common time with extensive use of tuplets, including tuplets inside tuplets. At several points there is a crotchet triplet (sixth notes) in which each beat is counted with its own tuplet of 5, 5 and 6; at another is a minim triplet (third notes) in which the second beat is a rubato quintuplet (actually a tuplet of 7), and the third beat is divided into tuplets of 4 and 5. The song ends with a crotchet triplet composed of tuplets of 5, 5, and 6, followed by two tuplets of 11 in the space of one. Australian drummer Chris Quinlan explained and demonstrated the polyrhythms, nested polyrhythms (quintuplets and sextuplets played within a 3:2 polyrhythm), polymeters (5/4 phrases played over 4/4 time signature) and structure of "The Black Page" on "Melbourne Musos" TV Show, episode 122, aired in 1999 on Australian Community TV station, C31 Melbourne.

The Black
The Black is a rock band from Austin, Texas that formed in 2002 when singer/songwriter David Longoria began collaborating with drummer Andy Morales. The two were later joined by renowned guitarist Alan Schaefer (son of famous guitar maker Ed Schaefer) and Nick Moulos of the Austin band The Crackpipes.
History
The group began playing regularly at Emo's and house parties until Schaefer moved to France to teach English in 2004. Longoria joined major label act ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead during the band's hiatus, his first performance with them on the Late Show with David Letterman in January 2005. Schaefer joined the rest of the band to support Trail of Dead on their European Worlds Apart tour. During the tour Trail of Dead was the band's backing band for a handful of shows.
Their full-length album Tanglewood was recorded in 2004 and released the spring of 2005 on their own record label K Woo.
The band's next release, titled Donna, was released in the summer of 2007.

Suzanne Muchnic, LA Times : There's always more than meets the eye in Richard Serra's monumental steel sculpture -- as visitors will see Feb. 16, when the Los Angeles County Museum of Art opens the Broad Contemporary Art Museum, bankrolled by financier and collector Eli Broad. Two of Serra's 2006 works, which debuted at his recent 40-year retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, command the entire ground floor of the new building, designed by architect Renzo Piano. Wrap-around environments that are impossible to see in their entirety from a single vantage point, they are expected to remain in place for about a year. "Band," a 183-ton ribbon of weatherproof steel that stands almost 13 feet tall and undulates through a "footprint" of about 70 by 37 feet, occupies the east gallery. A new addition to LACMA's collection, it was purchased for an undisclosed sum from a $10-million acquisitions fund established by Broad. (His own enormous personal collection will remain under the control of his Foundation, he let it be known last week.) "Sequence," a sculpture of roughly the same size and composed of two twisted elliptical structures encircled by a serpentine passageway, is in the west gallery. Lent by Serra, it's destined for a museum that Gap founder Donald Fisher plans to build for his collection in San Francisco. Several years in the making, the sculptures are wonders of design and engineering. Although Serra, 68, has been exhibiting "Torqued Ellipses," massive steel enclosures with curved and slanted walls, for a decade, it isn't easy to imagine how he dreamed up these two works in his New York studio or how they were made in Germany and transported here. The installation alone -- finessed while the building was under construction -- was a highly synchronized, 10-day effort by a trusted crew that works 12-hour days. Each work consists of enormous panels that must be aligned within a 32nd of an inch. Precision, planning and overcoming obstacles, such as doorways and uneven floors -- Serra and his team have all that down to a science. But it's not what excites him. "It's just part of what I do," Serra says, walking around "Band" just after its installation. "I'm interested when the pieces are set up. I would just as soon that the process evaporates and you have to deal with the experience of the work." For museum visitors, that's inevitable. These are sculptures that reach out and envelop all who enter, but they don't reveal all their secrets. Elusiveness is as essential to the art as an imposing physical presence. "What you have with 'Band' is a very logical floor plan," Serra says of his most recent work, which introduces a wavy, ribbon-like template. "But in elevation, everything leans continuously in opposing directions, which means that as the band unfolds, nothing ever repeats itself and no volume is ever the same. So even though you walk in and out of four cavities and you have a sense that they are very similar, they are all different. "You might find yourself in a space where you think you have been before, but you realize it is different and you don't know quite why. And then you find yourself in another space, and you think it's the outside of the space you have just been in, but it's not. Or you think it's the inside of the space that you just left, but it's not. If you continuously walk the piece, what you anticipate and what your memory allows you to foresee don't always conclude to be what you suspect." YAMOTO Band-Nitajuta
So, Tanzania's to-watch-for budding director Paul Isangi approached me to do a demo with him of a music video. We basically had a day to really plan, only being able to see the Mwembe Yanga location (plain sandy football pitch) a few hours before we locked down the shoot and met with the artistes. Drawing from my gaffer experience to transform it by playing with lights, It was time to call in favors and with the generosity of Pat Olvera (Khangarue Media) who lent us his precious camera and Steve Obunde (Grip & Sparks Tanzania, Ltd) who let me go crazy with my list, and alongside other few from our personal networks, we shot this video in 5hours at night. The boyband was worth the hardwork.

Had plans to go a different direction with this, but decided to edit a version as a 'thank you' for all who clicked on my previous vids in this new series. Thank you! A very hard one to make...
Shot on the Canon C300 in Pittsburgh, PA. and surrounding areas. We decide to bring Plan B a famous reggaeton puerto rican band to the cinematic city of Braddock, PA.
Very intense and condense 4 day shoot with a minimal crew and a not so good production...
During the 4 shooting days we had all kinds of weather, rain and heat... We start the shot with jackets and finished in shorts.
Unfortunately is one of my worst projects, I made a lot of mistakes and I kind of lost it. I feel a bit disappointed about myself... but I guess that's the way I like to learn, and there's so much to learn out there.
Hopefully things will get better...

Suzanne Muchnic, LA Times : There's always more than meets the eye in Richard Serra's monumental steel sculpture -- as visitors will see Feb. 16, when the Los Angeles County Museum of Art opens the Broad Contemporary Art Museum, bankrolled by financier and collector Eli Broad.
Two of Serra's 2006 works, which debuted at his recent 40-year retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, command the entire ground floor of the new building, designed by architect Renzo Piano. Wrap-around environments that are impossible to see in their entirety from a single vantage point, they are expected to remain in place for about a year.
"Band," a 183-ton ribbon of weatherproof steel that stands almost 13 feet tall and undulates through a "footprint" of about 70 by 37 feet, occupies the east gallery. A new addition to LACMA's collection, it was purchased for an undisclosed sum from a $10-million acquisitions fund established by Broad. (His own enormous personal collection will remain under the control of his Foundation, he let it be known last week.) "Sequence," a sculpture of roughly the same size and composed of two twisted elliptical structures encircled by a serpentine passageway, is in the west gallery. Lent by Serra, it's destined for a museum that Gap founder Donald Fisher plans to build for his collection in San Francisco.
Several years in the making, the sculptures are wonders of design and engineering. Although Serra, 68, has been exhibiting "Torqued Ellipses," massive steel enclosures with curved and slanted walls, for a decade, it isn't easy to imagine how he dreamed up these two works in his New York studio or how they were made in Germany and transported here.
The installation alone -- finessed while the building was under construction -- was a highly synchronized, 10-day effort by a trusted crew that works 12-hour days. Each work consists of enormous panels that must be aligned within a 32nd of an inch.
Precision, planning and overcoming obstacles, such as doorways and uneven floors -- Serra and his team have all that down to a science. But it's not what excites him.
"It's just part of what I do," Serra says, walking around "Band" just after its installation. "I'm interested when the pieces are set up. I would just as soon that the process evaporates and you have to deal with the experience of the work."
For museum visitors, that's inevitable. These are sculptures that reach out and envelop all who enter, but they don't reveal all their secrets. Elusiveness is as essential to the art as an imposing physical presence.
"What you have with 'Band' is a very logical floor plan," Serra says of his most recent work, which introduces a wavy, ribbon-like template. "But in elevation, everything leans continuously in opposing directions, which means that as the band unfolds, nothing ever repeats itself and no volume is ever the same. So even though you walk in and out of four cavities and you have a sense that they are very similar, they are all different.
"You might find yourself in a space where you think you have been before, but you realize it is different and you don't know quite why. And then you find yourself in another space, and you think it's the outside of the space you have just been in, but it's not. Or you think it's the inside of the space that you just left, but it's not. If you continuously walk the piece, what you anticipate and what your memory allows you to foresee don't always conclude to be what you suspect."

So, Tanzania's to-watch-for budding director Paul Isangi approached me to do a demo with him of a music video. We basically had a day to really plan, only being able to see the Mwembe Yanga location (plain sandy football pitch) a few hours before we locked down the shoot and met with the artistes. Drawing from my gaffer experience to transform it by playing with lights, It was time to call in favors and with the generosity of Pat Olvera (Khangarue Media) who lent us his precious camera and Steve Obunde (Grip & Sparks Tanzania, Ltd) who let me go crazy with my list, and alongside other few from our personal networks, we shot this video in 5hours at night. The boyband was worth the hardwork.

Plan B - Te Dijeron - (director's cut)
A very hard one to make... Shot on the Canon C300 in Pittsburgh, PA. and surrounding areas. We decide to bring Plan B a famous reggaeton puerto rican band to the cinematic city of Braddock, PA. Very intense and condense 4 day shoot with a minimal crew and a not so good production... During the 4 shooting days we had all kinds of weather, rain and heat... We start the shot with jackets and finished in shorts. Unfortunately is one of my worst projects, I made a lot of mistakes and I kind of lost it. I feel a bit disappointed about myself... but I guess that's the way I like to learn, and there's so much to learn out there. Hopefully things will get better... Thanks for watching. Gear. So, Tanzania's to-watch-for budding director Paul Isangi approached me to do a demo with him of a music video. We basically had a day to really plan, only being able to see the Mwembe Yanga location (plain sandy football pitch) a few hours before we locked down the shoot and met with the artistes. Drawing from my gaffer experience to transform it by playing with lights, It was time to call in favors and with the generosity of Pat Olvera (Khangarue Media) who lent us his precious camera and Steve Obunde (Grip & Sparks Tanzania, Ltd) who let me go crazy with my list, and alongside other few from our personal networks, we shot this video in 5hours at night. The boyband was worth the hardwork.

A very hard one to make...
Shot on the Canon C300 in Pittsburgh, PA. and surrounding areas. We decide to bring Plan B a famous reggaeton puerto rican band to the cinematic city of Braddock, PA.
Very intense and condense 4 day shoot with a minimal crew and a not so good production...
During the 4 shooting days we had all kinds of weather, rain and heat... We start the shot with jackets and finished in shorts.
Unfortunately is one of my worst projects, I made a lot of mistakes and I kind of lost it. I feel a bit disappointed about myself... but I guess that's the way I like to learn, and there's so much to learn out there.
Hopefully things will get better...

A new addition to LACMA's collection, it was purchased for an undisclosed sum from a $10-million acquisitions fund established by Broad. (His own enormous personal collection will remain under the control of his Foundation, he let it be known last week.) "Sequence," a sculpture of roughly the same size and composed of two twisted elliptical structures encircled by a serpentine passageway, is in the west gallery. Lent by Serra, it's destined for a museum that Gap founder Donald Fisher plans to build for his collection in San Francisco.
Several years in the making, the sculptures are wonders of design and engineering. Although Serra, 68, has been exhibiting "Torqued Ellipses," massive steel enclosures with curved and slanted walls, for a decade, it isn't easy to imagine how he dreamed up these two works in his New York studio or how they were made in Germany and transported here.
The installation alone -- finessed while the building was under construction -- was a highly synchronized, 10-day effort by a trusted crew that works 12-hour days. Each work consists of enormous panels that must be aligned within a 32nd of an inch.
Precision, planning and overcoming obstacles, such as doorways and uneven floors -- Serra and his team have all that down to a science. But it's not what excites him.
"It's just part of what I do," Serra says, walking around "Band" just after its installation. "I'm interested when the pieces are set up. I would just as soon that the process evaporates and you have to deal with the experience of the work."
For museum visitors, that's inevitable. These are sculptures that reach out and envelop all who enter, but they don't reveal all their secrets. Elusiveness is as essential to the art as an imposing physical presence.
"What you have with 'Band' is a very logical floor plan," Serra says of his most recent work, which introduces a wavy, ribbon-like template. "But in elevation, everything leans continuously in opposing directions, which means that as the band unfolds, nothing ever repeats itself and no volume is ever the same. So even though you walk in and out of four cavities and you have a sense that they are very similar, they are all different.
"You might find yourself in a space where you think you have been before, but you realize it is different and you don't know quite why. And then you find yourself in another space, and you think it's the outside of the space you have just been in, but it's not. Or you think it's the inside of the space that you just left, but it's not. If you continuously walk the piece, what you anticipate and what your memory allows you to foresee don't always conclude to be what you suspect."

For museum visitors, that's inevitable. These are sculptures that reach out and envelop all who enter, but they don't reveal all their secrets. Elusiveness is as essential to the art as an imposing physical presence.
"What you have with 'Band' is a very logical floor plan," Serra says of his most recent work, which introduces a wavy, ribbon-like template. "But in elevation, everything leans continuously in opposing directions, which means that as the band unfolds, nothing ever repeats itself and no volume is ever the same. So even though you walk in and out of four cavities and you have a sense that they are very similar, they are all different.
"You might find yourself in a space where you think you have been before, but you realize it is different and you don't know quite why. And then you find yourself in another space, and you think it's the outside of the space you have just been in, but it's not. Or you think it's the inside of the space that you just left, but it's not. If you continuously walk the piece, what you anticipate and what your memory allows you to foresee don't always conclude to be what you suspect."

The Black Page is The Sancho Plan's first true interactive short film. Combining the highest quality musical and visual design, it's a new entertainment experience in which a live onstage band controls in real-time a cast of onscreen animated musical characters.
The short film tells the tale of a lost wanderer who stumbles into a surreal desert landscape, and learns that the door home can only be opened by an unusual guardian. "Frank Zappa meets Salvador Dali in this unique interactive entertainment experience."

So, Tanzania's to-watch-for budding director Paul Isangi approached me to do a demo with him of a music video. We basically had a day to really plan, only being able to see the Mwembe Yanga location (plain sandy football pitch) a few hours before we locked down the shoot and met with the artistes. Drawing from my gaffer experience to transform it by playing with lights, It was time to call in favors and with the generosity of Pat Olvera (Khangarue Media) who lent us his precious camera and Steve Obunde (Grip & Sparks Tanzania, Ltd) who let me go crazy with my list, and alongside other few from our personal networks, we shot this video in 5hours at night. The boyband was worth the hardwork.

What did the 90s teach you? It taught me that good music doesn’t bullshit. Good Pop music empowers you in the simplest ways: honest, straightforward and strangely, well marketed. Sheila on 7 formed in 1996 and the first album was released at the edge of the decade (1999) but the self-titled album resonated pretty much how Indonesian Pop Music was back then. This was when the industry was still working, arguably healthy. Fortunately, I’ve lived those days as a kid. I was still at Junior High School snitching Porn VCDs when the album came. But being where I am now, I feel in the 90s there were values about nurturing music that are being abandoned today. Digging acknowledgements were obviously harder. It taught me that good music doesn’t bullshit. Good Pop music empowers you in the simplest ways: honest, straightforward and strangely, well marketed. Sheila on 7 formed in 1996 and the first album was released at the edge of the decade (1999) but the self-titled album resonated pretty much how Indonesian Pop Music was back then. This was when the industry was still working, arguably healthy.
Fortunately, I’ve lived those days as a kid. I was still at Junior High School snitching Porn VCDs when the album came. But being where I am now, I feel in the 90s there were values about nurturing music that are being abandoned today. Digging acknowledgements were obviously harder. Therefore, process of building presence was longer and tougher. This is usually where consistency and character come, inexplicably. Song crafting was simpler, with limited sources of reference and information, making interaction and chemistry obligatory. The weight of music as an art form was still protruding, lyrics was an essential component and often built in a poetic way.
S07 have been singing about being old and separated (Sebuah Kisah Klasik, Waktu Yang Tepat Untuk Berpisah, Saat Aku Lanjut Usia) since the millennium, but the melodious forecasts haven’t been confirmed so far, making the Jogja-based (except Brian) boys become the nicest Pop Mogul in the business. S07 musical ingredients are simple, really.
Entering their sweet seventeen since the self-titled in 1999, they almost NEVER change their music direction, there’re no huge experiments or revenue-driven gimmicks while maintaining a robust fanbase, steady gigs and of course income. It’s all good music and good attitude, ultimately. Their creative powerhouse Eross Candra is truly Indonesia’s national treasure, an ace songwriter, amazing guitarist.
This performance hit me in the face, made me realize how important being real and humble in music. It was not only good music, but also a proper, well-delivered entertainment for the audience. S07 were not trying to be someone else, the planned stage gimmicks were all spot on and cohesive with their image as a band. Even the random ones - like when GIGI frontman Armand Maulana showed up, quickly mirrored by the other members of the group just to say hi to them - looked surprisingly natural.
