What a party trick! Katy Perry sends Sunrise's wildlife handler into fits of laughter
The global pop singer was treated to a meet-and-greet with a giant python, Komodo dragon and a cuddly wombat on the set of Seven's Sunrise on Saturday.
And Katy Perry decided to show off a bizarre hidden talent while pre-recording segments for her co-hosting addition of the breakfast show to air on Monday.
The Roar hit-maker, 32, made a hilarious Komodo dragon impersonation as she puffed her neck in and out on camera.
Sunrise presenter David 'Kochie' Koch appeared to be standing a few feet behind the star, as she edged closer to the reptile. 'See that thing right there? I can do it too,' she said as she pointed to the way it was breathing in the hands of the khaki-wearing tamer.
'You're actually better at it than him,' the handler said as he, and the rest of the cast and crew, burst into laughter.
She joked 'stay with us folks' down the camera, while captioning the clip: 'single forever.'
The Firework singer initially looked a tad uneasy as the animal wrangler from the Australian Reptile park presented her with the Komodo dragon on a leash.
The handler laughed as he held the creature aloft while Katy sported a look of mild concern.
Katy's fear soon turned to inquisitiveness as she got closer to the giant lizard.
If the Komodo dragon gave Katy the creeps, it was nothing compared to the reaction she gave after the animal handler brought a giant python onto the stage.
Katy looked genuinely terrified as she was confronted with the gargantuan snake, with two handlers required to hold up its massive body.
The Swish Swish singer looked to be on the verge of tears as she came face to face with the slithering serpent.

From the World's SADDEST Polar Bear, to the SHOCKING effects of the New Zealand Earthquake, this is TRENDING TUESDAY !
Over the past decade, some 81,000 reindeer in northern Siberia have been wiped out … due to freak freezes linked to climate change. That’s according to a new study released last week. It says that reindeer on the Yamal peninsula were prevented from foraging for lichen due to the ground being covered with thick ice for several months, caused by bizarre weather changes … and that led to the animals starving to death. The Yamal (ya -MALL) peninsula is located in an Arctic region, and is home to the largest herd of semi-domesticated reindeer in the world. Mass reindeer deaths occurred in 2006 and 2013 … both instances were caused by early snowfalls followed by unusually warming temperatures and then a sudden deep freeze. Ice remained on the ground until late spring the following year, resulting in the reindeer starving. The area was also hit by another catastrophe thought to be climate-related … a heatwave thawed permafrost that released decades old anthrax, which killed one boy and over 2,000 deer. Scientists expect more bizarre weather patterns in the future that will become increasingly severe.
You’ve heard of Bengal tigers … but how about Bengal cats? These cats were first bred in the US during the 1970s. Scientists cross-bred domestic cats with the leopard cat … a wild animal found in the jungles of southeast Asia. They weigh around 10 pounds and resemble small leopards, or South American ocelots. The animals were bred to have an aggressive temperament to match their appearance … resulting in the Bengal cat possessing a powerful instinct to hunt and kill. They’re also kept as pets, and are fiercely territorial. Reports from the UK last week indicated that the hybrid cats were savagely attacking domestic cats -- and their owners -- in various neighborhoods. That prompted angry pet owners to take their stories to social media, where graphically detailed accounts of such attacks are published. Concerns over what should be done about the Bengal cat kerfuffle have even been expressed in Parliament … but no solutions have yet been presented. While it is legal to own a Bengal cat, many say it shouldn’t be … Let us know what you think in the comments.
Things may have cheered up a bit for the World’s Saddest Polar bear. The three year old animal named Pizza was the star attraction of the Grandview Shopping Mall in China. Tourists liked to take selfies with the bear that was trapped inside the aquarium. But earlier in 2016, a viral video of Pizza showed him slumped on his side, and mouth quivering. He was shown living in dismal conditions, and having little space to run or play. His mournful appearance earned him the title of World’s Saddest Polar bear, and provoked enough international outrage … that the owners of the aquarium … have agreed to send Pizza back to the zoo in Northern China where he was born in captivity … where he can be with his parents. But it’s only a temporary move while renovations take place at the mall … after that, Pizza is scheduled to return there. Do you think that’s a good idea … or should Pizza stay with his mum and dad?
You no doubt heard about the powerful earthquake that hit New Zealand … but did you know the 7.8 magnitude quake actually lifted the seabed an estimated 2 meters, and exploded through the sand? New Zealand has been struck by earthquakes in the past … notably in 2011 when a quake in Christchurch killed nearly 200 people. But this was the first time tremors caused the seabed to lift out of the water and above ground, on the shore. Photos show large marine snails called abalone (abba-lone-ee) or paua (pow-uh) covering the seabed, which cannot survive above water. Landslides damaged and cut off the coastal road and rail corridor that leads to Kaikoura (kie-kurra), a fishing town popular as a base for whale watching … More than 1,000 residents and tourists were evacuated from there by helicopters and a naval vessel. The major quake was followed by two strong aftershocks, one measuring 6.3 and the other a 5.8 magnitude that rocked New Zealand’s South Island. Hundreds of aftershocks were still being recorded by seismologists … and some 2,000 aftershocks have rattled the area since the initial tremor. Further damage was expected as strong winds and rains hit central New Zealand.

Humans have historically tended to separate civilization from wildlife in a number of ways including the legal, social, and moral sense. Some animals, however, have adapted to suburban environments. This includes such animals as domesticated cats, dogs, mice, and gerbils.Some religions have often declared certain animals to be sacred, and in modern times concern for the natural environment has provoked activists to protest the exploitation of wildlife for human benefit or entertainment.

After winning the overall World Cup title four years in a row, alpine skier Marcel Hirscher took a day off and had some fun at his local resort with his race skiis and some crazy colors, resulting in one of the most vibrant ski runs to date. Respect for the environment was a priority from the beginning of this project! The team has assured that the plants and wildlife have neither been damaged nor disturbed at any time during the project. The global pop singer was treated to a meet-and-greet with a giant python, Komodo dragon and a cuddly wombat on the set of Seven's Sunrise on Saturday.
And Katy Perry decided to show off a bizarre hidden talent while pre-recording segments for her co-hosting addition of the breakfast show to air on Monday.
The Roar hit-maker, 32, made a hilarious Komodo dragon impersonation as she puffed her neck in and out on camera.
Sunrise presenter David 'Kochie' Koch appeared to be standing a few feet behind the star, as she edged closer to the reptile. 'See that thing right there? I can do it too,' she said as she pointed to the way it was breathing in the hands of the khaki-wearing tamer.
'You're actually better at it than him,' the handler said as he, and the rest of the cast and crew, burst into laughter.
She joked 'stay with us folks' down the camera, while captioning the clip: 'single forever.'
The Firework singer initially looked a tad uneasy as the animal wrangler from the Australian Reptile park presented her with the Komodo dragon on a leash.
The handler laughed as he held the creature aloft while Katy sported a look of mild concern.
Katy's fear soon turned to inquisitiveness as she got closer to the giant lizard.
If the Komodo dragon gave Katy the creeps, it was nothing compared to the reaction she gave after the animal handler brought a giant python onto the stage.
Katy looked genuinely terrified as she was confronted with the gargantuan snake, with two handlers required to hold up its massive body.
The Swish Swish singer looked to be on the verge of tears as she came face to face with the slithering serpent.

It says that reindeer on the Yamal peninsula were prevented from foraging for lichen due to the ground being covered with thick ice for several months, caused by bizarre weather changes … and that led to the animals starving to death. The Yamal (ya -MALL) peninsula is located in an Arctic region, and is home to the largest herd of semi-domesticated reindeer in the world. Mass reindeer deaths occurred in 2006 and 2013 … both instances were caused by early snowfalls followed by unusually warming temperatures and then a sudden deep freeze. Ice remained on the ground until late spring the following year, resulting in the reindeer starving. The area was also hit by another catastrophe thought to be climate-related … a heatwave thawed permafrost that released decades old anthrax, which killed one boy and over 2,000 deer. Scientists expect more bizarre weather patterns in the future that will become increasingly severe.
You’ve heard of Bengal tigers … but how about Bengal cats? These cats were first bred in the US during the 1970s. Scientists cross-bred domestic cats with the leopard cat … a wild animal found in the jungles of southeast Asia. They weigh around 10 pounds and resemble small leopards, or South American ocelots. The animals were bred to have an aggressive temperament to match their appearance … resulting in the Bengal cat possessing a powerful instinct to hunt and kill. They’re also kept as pets, and are fiercely territorial. Reports from the UK last week indicated that the hybrid cats were savagely attacking domestic cats -- and their owners -- in various neighborhoods. That prompted angry pet owners to take their stories to social media, where graphically detailed accounts of such attacks are published. Concerns over what should be done about the Bengal cat kerfuffle have even been expressed in Parliament … but no solutions have yet been presented. While it is legal to own a Bengal cat, many say it shouldn’t be … Let us know what you think in the comments.
Things may have cheered up a bit for the World’s Saddest Polar bear. The three year old animal named Pizza was the star attraction of the Grandview Shopping Mall in China. Tourists liked to take selfies with the bear that was trapped inside the aquarium. But earlier in 2016, a viral video of Pizza showed him slumped on his side, and mouth quivering. He was shown living in dismal conditions, and having little space to run or play. His mournful appearance earned him the title of World’s Saddest Polar bear, and provoked enough international outrage … that the owners of the aquarium … have agreed to send Pizza back to the zoo in Northern China where he was born in captivity … where he can be with his parents. But it’s only a temporary move while renovations take place at the mall … after that, Pizza is scheduled to return there. Do you think that’s a good idea … or should Pizza stay with his mum and dad?
You no doubt heard about the powerful earthquake that hit New Zealand … but did you know the 7.8 magnitude quake actually lifted the seabed an estimated 2 meters, and exploded through the sand? New Zealand has been struck by earthquakes in the past … notably in 2011 when a quake in Christchurch killed nearly 200 people. But this was the first time tremors caused the seabed to lift out of the water and above ground, on the shore. Photos show large marine snails called abalone (abba-lone-ee) or paua (pow-uh) covering the seabed, which cannot survive above water. Landslides damaged and cut off the coastal road and rail corridor that leads to Kaikoura (kie-kurra), a fishing town popular as a base for whale watching … More than 1,000 residents and tourists were evacuated from there by helicopters and a naval vessel. The major quake was followed by two strong aftershocks, one measuring 6.3 and the other a 5.8 magnitude that rocked New Zealand’s South Island. Hundreds of aftershocks were still being recorded by seismologists … and some 2,000 aftershocks have rattled the area since the initial tremor. Further damage was expected as strong winds and rains hit central New Zealand.

Tourists liked to take selfies with the bear that was trapped inside the aquarium. But earlier in 2016, a viral video of Pizza showed him slumped on his side, and mouth quivering. He was shown living in dismal conditions, and having little space to run or play. His mournful appearance earned him the title of World’s Saddest Polar bear, and provoked enough international outrage … that the owners of the aquarium … have agreed to send Pizza back to the zoo in Northern China where he was born in captivity … where he can be with his parents. But it’s only a temporary move while renovations take place at the mall … after that, Pizza is scheduled to return there. Do you think that’s a good idea … or should Pizza stay with his mum and dad?
You no doubt heard about the powerful earthquake that hit New Zealand … but did you know the 7.8 magnitude quake actually lifted the seabed an estimated 2 meters, and exploded through the sand? New Zealand has been struck by earthquakes in the past … notably in 2011 when a quake in Christchurch killed nearly 200 people. But this was the first time tremors caused the seabed to lift out of the water and above ground, on the shore. Photos show large marine snails called abalone (abba-lone-ee) or paua (pow-uh) covering the seabed, which cannot survive above water. Landslides damaged and cut off the coastal road and rail corridor that leads to Kaikoura (kie-kurra), a fishing town popular as a base for whale watching … More than 1,000 residents and tourists were evacuated from there by helicopters and a naval vessel. The major quake was followed by two strong aftershocks, one measuring 6.3 and the other a 5.8 magnitude that rocked New Zealand’s South Island. Hundreds of aftershocks were still being recorded by seismologists … and some 2,000 aftershocks have rattled the area since the initial tremor. Further damage was expected as strong winds and rains hit central New Zealand.

Badger rescues are difficult rescues. They are extremely strong animals that will do anything to escape the clutches of a wildlife rescuer! The tiger's movements are programmed to correspond to the speed of the car: as the car moves, the tiger runs along it speeding up and slowing down with the car, as the car stops, the tiger stops also. This movie was shot during our 20 days trip to Antarctica in December 2014 to January 2015. We started from Ushuaia in Argentina and went to Port Williams in Chile, rounded Cape Horn and crossed the Drake Passage towards the Melchior Islands in Antarctica. We spent 16 days in the Antarctic and got to experience the most amazing scenery and wildlife before we returned back to Ushuaia. We started from Ushuaia in Argentina and went to Port Williams in Chile, rounded Cape Horn and crossed the Drake Passage towards the Melchior Islands in Antarctica. We spent 16 days in the Antarctic and got to experience the most amazing scenery and wildlife before we returned back to Ushuaia.
