Menu

In a restaurant, a menu is a presentation of food and beverage offerings. A menu may be à la carte – which guests use to choose from a list of options – or table d'hôte, in which case a pre-established sequence of courses is served.

History

Menus, as a list of prepared foods, have been discovered dating back to the Song Dynasty in China. In the larger populated cities of the time, merchants found a way to cater to busy customers who had little time or energy to prepare food during the evening. The variation in Chinese cuisine from different regions led caterers to create a list or menu for their patrons.

The word "menu," like much of the terminology of cuisine, is French in origin. It ultimately derives from Latin "minutus," something made small; in French it came to be applied to a detailed list or résumé of any kind. The original menus that offered consumers choices were prepared on a small chalkboard, in French a carte; so foods chosen from a bill of fare are described as "à la carte," "according to the board."

Himesh Reshammiya is an Indian music director, singer, producer, lyricist, distributor and actor.

Music and film career

As a singer, he churned out songs like "Aashiq Banaya Aapne", "Tera Suroor", "Mujhko Yaad Sataye Teri", "Zara Jhoom Jhoom", "Jhalak Dikhlaja", "Shakalaka Boom Boom", "Hookah Bar", "Chalao Na Naina Se", which were very popular. Reshammiya's music has a style of composition based on a fusion of Western and Indian classical music accompanied by techno beats. He started his acting career with his debut film, Aap Kaa Surroor.

In August 2010, it was announced that music video director Roman White is going to direct videos of Reshammiya's first international album in English, named @ Da Edge, which was to be released in 2014; the album to be released in 122 countries. Reshammiya was the first Indian singer to perform at the Wembley Arena and the Heineken music hall in Amsterdam.

Black pride

Black pride is a movement in response to dominant white cultures and ideologies that encourages black people to celebrate black culture and embrace their African heritage. In the United States, it was a direct response to white conservative resistance to the Civil Rights Movement. Related movements include black power,black nationalism,Black Panthers, Afrocentrism, and black supremacism.

Arts and music

The black pride is a major theme in some works of African American popular musicians. Civil Rights Movement era songs such as The Impressions's hit songs "We're a Winner" and "Keep on Pushing" and James Brown's "Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud" celebrated black pride. Beyoncé's half-time performance at Super Bowl 50, which included homages to Malcolm X and the Black Panthers, has been described by the media as a display of black pride.

Beauty and fashion

Beauty standards are a major theme of black pride. Black pride was represented in slogans such as "black is beautiful" which challenged white beauty standards. Prior to the black pride movement, the majority of black people straightened their hair or wore wigs. The adoption natural hair styles such as the afro, cornrows, and dreadlocks were seen as expressions of black pride.

The Menu

The Menu (Chinese: 導火新聞線), is a 2015 television series produced by Hong Kong Television Network. The series is starred by Noel Leung, Catherine Chau, Kate Yeung and Gregory Wong, written by Pun Man-hung and directed by Ben Fong. The first episode premiered on March 10, 2015. The plot revolves around the newspaper business.

Filming for the sequel started on December 1, 2015 and will be released as a film.
