Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (/ˈdɪzni/; December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He was a prominent figure within the American animation industry and throughout the world, and is regarded as a cultural icon, known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century. As a Hollywood business mogul, he and his brother Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company.
As an animator and entrepreneur, Disney was particularly noted as a filmmaker and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created numerous famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Disney himself was the original voice for Mickey. During his lifetime, he won 22 Academy Awards and received four honorary Academy Awards from a total of 59 nominations, including a record of four in one year, giving him more Oscar awards and nominations than any other individual in history. Disney also won seven Emmy Awards and gave his name to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the U.S., as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.
The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversifiedmultinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. It is the world's second largest media conglomerate in terms of revenue, after Comcast. Disney was founded on October 16, 1923, by Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, and established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and theme parks. The company also operated under the names The Walt Disney Studio, then Walt Disney Productions. Taking on its current name in 1986, it expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theater, radio, music, publishing, and online media.
In addition, Disney has since created corporate divisions in order to market more mature content than is typically associated with its flagship family-oriented brands. The company is best known for the products of its film studio, The Walt Disney Studios, which is today one of the largest and best-known studios in American cinema. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, A+E Networks, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, music, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 14 theme parks around the world. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is a primary symbol of The Walt Disney Company.
The Walt is a four-piece post-punk/indie rock band from Utrecht, Netherlands consisting of musicians known from We vs. Death, Kismet and the retired metalcore group Dawn of Awakening. According to their official website the Walt's influences include bands such as At the Drive-In, Medications, Q and not U, 31Knots and Hot Snakes.
Since 2004 the band has released an annual online promo. In 2008 The Walt was signed by indie-label Beep! Beep! Back Up the Truck and released their debut EP titled 'Something we did not have'. A full-length album is scheduled for 2009.

Brief history of the Walt Disney Company. Video for MGT 309 class. I do not own any of the pictures or videos shown.
The Walt Disney Corporation has come far from its pre-war roots as a cartoon based film company. The mass media multinational is now worth 150 billion dollars and expanded ever since. Since 1991, Disney’s total annual revenue has only decreased twice. Its five-year annualized return on equity (ROE) for investors for the period 2009 to 2015 is 315%. Edit: The Walt Disney company was renamed as such in 1986. Just letting you know there was a change in nomenclature. Welcome to another edition of The Logo Corner! Thanks again for all your patience. Growing up in Anaheim, CA just a few hundred yards from Disneyland, we grew up in the metaphorical Shadow of Walt Disney. Attending Disney elementary school, going on Walt-related field trips and assemblies, and completing projects and book reports on the man himself, I learned a lot about his hometown and how it influenced his work. Everything from Main Street USA to "So dear to my heart," his love of trains and railroading, and even his love of Drawing all began here. Years ago, I visited Marceline Missouri for the first time and was blown away by the museum in town. This was a quick, "hey we have a little time we might be able to get there 30 minutes before the museum closes" trip, but we made it! And WOW how the museum has changed since the first time I saw it! It's cold outside
Seven months of suicide
I've been in suspended animation
Just like Walt Disney
My only love
Asked for me to wait out there
I waited
Waited but she didn't care
Just like Walt Disney
I'm just thawing out
My fingertips and toes are frozen to the bone
Give me an hour before you throw me in the cold
Ring, ring, ring
Now I hear the phone singing
Calling me
Telling me to start freezing
Just like Walt Disney, yeah
I'm a block of ice
My fingertips and toes are frozen to the bone
Give me an hour before you throw me in the cold
Give me an hour before you pick me up and throw me 'cross the sea
