Fran originally hails from Germany but in 2003 she decided to swap the hectic Munich lifestyle and the long German winters for the sunny laid-back lifestyle of Perth.
In her first journalistic job Fran reported on the fabulous produce of the world's oldest brewery for local television in the quaint Bavarian town of Freising.
In not-so-quaint Munich she then worked at a daily current affairs program and the German news wire DPA.
After travelling to South-East Asia and Central America, Fran did the Aussie road trip and fell in love – with the country as well.
But moving to Perth made it difficult to find a job in journalism, so Fran embarked on a colourful ride of professions ranging from shoe-seller to managing a dating website for one of Australia's largest adult online businesses.
Fran has been with the WAtoday team since December 2008, interrupted by a two-year back-to back baby hiatus.
When she's not "pimping" the website, Fran likes cooking, contemporary literature, travelling and – like every good European – the beach.
