Brendan Foster - Reporter

Brendan became interested in a career in journalism after reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in his early 20s and Hunter S Thompson's outlandish style of straddling the line between journalism and fiction writer is something that has always stayed with him.

He joined the WAtoday team in mid-2014 and, when not getting yelled out for taking beer out of the fridges on the wrong days, has covered and investigated a broad range of issues - earning a Walkley nomination by braving a visit to the home of one of China's most wanted.

Prior to working at WAtoday, Brendan was a freelance journalist for six months and had numerous stories published in the Guardian Australia, the New York Daily and the Sunday Times.

There is no assignment he won't tackle with gusto, pathos and, perhaps most of all, humour.

He recently ice skated for the first time with two international ice hockey teams, who between them had less teeth than a newborn baby, somehow managing to exit the ice with a full head of fangs intact..

Brendan's dedication to his craft is highlighted by the fact he recently brought his first suit at the age of 48, although Dockers fans will remember him for being rather less formerly attired when he visited Fremantle during Western Derby week to profess his love for the West Coast Eagles.
