Colour (The Christians album)

Colour is the second album by British soul group The Christians. It was released in January 1990 by Island Records and peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart. It also reached the Top 20 in several European countries due, notably, to the success of its lead single "Words".

Color (software)

Color was a professional color grading software application produced by Apple Inc. for their Mac OS X operating system. It is one of the major applications included as part of Apple's Final Cut Studio 3 video production suite. It was discontinued with the release of Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, and Compressor 4. The application was originally called FinalTouch and was developed by Silicon Color, until the company was acquired by Apple in October 2006.

Motion picture images often look whitewashed or grayed out when scanned directly off of the negative during telecine. One basic purpose of "Color" is to add the vibrancy and richness of color back to the video once it is transferred to a digital format, normally for further editing.

Color 1.5 was introduced on July 23, 2009 along with the new Final Cut Studio 11.5.

Interpol (album)

Interpol is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Interpol, released on September 7, 2010 on Matador Records. The album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village. "Lights" was released as a free download through the band's website, originally in May 2010 with an accompanying video released in June 2010 by Charlie White. Bassist Carlos Dengler left shortly after the album's completion. The lead single "Barricade" was released in August 2010.

Recording

Recording started in early spring of 2009. The band announced that they were writing new songs in March of that year.

Lights (born Valerie Anne Poxleitner; April 11, 1987) is a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter. Some of her notable singles include "Drive My Soul", "February Air", "Ice", "Second Go", "Toes", and "Up We Go". Lights tours extensively to support her recordings. In 2009, she was awarded the Juno Award for New Artist of the Year.

Starting in early 2008, Lights toured cities in the Great Lakes region, in both Canada and the United States. In late 2008, she toured the United States. In August 2008, Lights signed a record deal with Toronto-based label Underground Operations. She also signed an American partnership deal with Warner Bros. along with Doghouse Records. She toured from January–May 2010 with contemporary synthpop artist Owl City in Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Lights won Indie Awards in the Favourite Solo Artist and Astral Media Radio Favourite Single categories during Canadian Music Week in March 2009 in Toronto. She won the Best New Artist Awards in the Hot AC and CHR categories. All awards were for her debut single "Drive My Soul," except the award for Favourite Solo Artist.In November 2010, her debut album The Listening was given a gold certification by the Canadian Recording Industry Association for sales of 40,000 units.

Gemstone

A gemstone or gem (also called a fine gem, jewel, or a precious or semi-precious stone) is a piece of mineral crystal, which, in cut and polished form, is used to make jewelry or other adornments. However, certain rocks (such as lapis lazuli) or organic materials that are not minerals (such as amber or jet), are also used for jewelry, and are therefore often considered to be gemstones as well. Most gemstones are hard, but some soft minerals are used in jewelry because of their luster or other physical properties that have aesthetic value. Rarity is another characteristic that lends value to a gemstone. Apart from jewelry, from earliest antiquity engraved gems and hardstone carvings, such as cups, were major luxury art forms. A gem maker is called a lapidary or gemcutter; a diamond worker is a diamantaire.

The carvings of Carl Fabergé are significant works in this tradition.

Jewels (Einstürzende Neubauten album)

Jewels is a supporter's album by Einstürzende Neubauten, completed in mid-2007. Instead of being released as a full album, it was released digitally one track at a time, available as website downloads only to subscribers of the Phase III Supporter Project, consisting of 15 "jewels" (as the band called them). Starting in March 2006, these downloadable tracks were released on or around the 15th of each month and were drawn from singer Blixa Bargeld's dreams.

Despite the Supporter Project site saying it "would form a digital-only album that will not be otherwise available", the album was eventually re-issued and released commercially through their own Potomak label as The Jewels, in July 2008.
