Hot Seat (talk show)
Hot Seat is a Saturday late night syndicated, politically oriented, though often satirical and comedic television talk-show that began in the early 1980s, hosted by conservative commentator Wally George. It was shot in the studios of KDOC, a UHF television station licensed to (and, at the time, having their studios in) Anaheim, California. The first edition of the series aired on Saturday July 16, 1983.
Overview
George hosted the show sitting behind a desk and wearing a red, white, and blue necktie, and his completely white hair in a curious comb over. Behind him was a photo of a space shuttle launching with the caption that read, "USA Is #1."
Each episode was videotaped before a live audience on Wednesday night, as stated on the show by Wally himself. The tape was then reviewed by the production staff and network, before it could be edited and finalized for air three days later on Saturday night.
Originally only seen locally, the show gained national attention on the November 5, 1983 episode, when a self-proclaimed pacifist named Blase Bonpane, who was discussing his opposition of the U.S. invasion of Grenada, suddenly erupted in anger over George's taunts, flipped over the host's desk and stormed off the show. A clip of the altercation aired on national news programs, and attracted attention from program directors at TV stations nationwide, leading to syndication.

Wally George
Wally George (born George Walter Pearch; December 4, 1931 – October 5, 2003) was an American conservative radio and television commentator. Calling himself the "Father of Combat TV," he was a fixture on Southern California television for three decades as the host of Hot Seat, which began as a local show on KDOC Channel 56, a local Southern California based UHF TV station in Anaheim, Orange County, California in 1983.
Early life
George was born George Walter Pearch in Oakland, California. His father, Walter George Pearch, who was English, worked in the marine shipping industry. His mother, Eugenia Clinchard, had been a vaudeville performer and child movie actress, in Essanay Studios westerns starring Broncho Billy Anderson. George grew up in San Mateo and was in high school when his parents divorced, after which his mother moved to the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles.
Career
By age 14, George was working as a disk-jockey at AM radio station KIEV in Glendale, California, followed by work at other local stations. In 1965 he was credited with writing an episode of the long-running television series Bonanza. In 1969 he launched The Wally George Show on FM radio station KTYM in Inglewood, California. Three years later he became producer and co-host of The Sam Yorty Show on Los Angeles television station KCOP with his political mentor Sam Yorty, the former mayor of Los Angeles. By 1979 George had his own talk show at KCOP, and when it moved to fledgling UHF station KDOC in Anaheim, he launched Hot Seat in 1983.

MIDNIGHT, AUGUST 24th!
You know, a lot of you have probably had this dream. The dream of leaving the hustle and bustle of your day job behind - let's say your job is being a traveling shoe salesman for instance, let's also say that's it's put such a strain on you and your family and your home life that it's given you a "bleeding ulcer." Selling shoes. Anyway, the next logical step in your dream would be to...open a movie theater, right? OF COURSE! It's way easier than selling shoes. Well, friends, that happens to be the exact dream of a Mr. Mitford Webster. He's had it! Through with the shoe game! So when "they" finally accept his bid on the old local theater - The Crest - (which, by the way, was shut down for showing PORNOGRAPHY!) he's in there like swimwear.
Mitford gets the whole family together to clean up "pigeon BM", hang decorations, stock the snack bar over and over and - naturally - talk about how much they love hot dogs at every chance they get. They hire a nerdly projectionist with the hots for Mitfords daughter and soon the bright lights of the marquee are setting the night ablaze as opening night is upon them! Keeping good on his promise to the townsfolk to show "nothing harder than a G" (coincidentally, the name of my new rap album) Mitford & Company come out swinging with GRIZZLY SAFARI WHOLESOME MOVIE. With nearly the whole town in attendance - what could go wrong? Well, after the electrocution of the aforementioned nerdly projectionist - a terrible skeleton is discovered hanging behind the screen. So much for wholesome. Enter Lt. Wombat (for real) to solve the mystery. Will the family heed the warnings of the crusty hobo telling them of their impending doom? Who is the even crustier rat-biting, Jean Harlow obsessive? Who really likes hot dogs this much? What happens at the end of GRIZZLY SAFARI WHOLESOME MOVIE?
While Derek Savage shows a clear love for old timey movies, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the family unit, rats, and more - the true star of this PG rated head-scratcher is, you guessed it, MEAT. Though not explicitly stated, not long into it's 85 minute runtime it becomes clear that the Meat Council has sunk it's claws deep into the banking of this film. On more than one occasion, all action stops to extol the virtues of hot dogs and their various nutrients. One has to wonder how good it can be for a shoe-selling-induced-bleeding-ulcer to have hot dog after hot dog piled on it, but, hey, we're not doctors.
All told THE MEATEATER (aka BLOOD THEATER) is not a perfect film, though it is one you are not likely to forget anytime soon and certainly has that particular je ne sais hot dog that we find so endearing. In fact, once you've MUSTARD the strength to get your BUNS in the seat and watch it, you might find you actually RELISH it. I'll show myself out.

Good morning. Boy, you look good. You are looking good. All right. Let’s take a seat. You’re taking up my time here!
Oh, it’s great to be at Lovin’ Life. And for those who have asked me, there are no teleprompters. In Jin Nim speaks without notes. As for me, I’ve got lots of notes. You don’t want me up here with no notes. You don’t know what would happen. I’m going to start with a Bible reading. Is that okay?
The parable of the lost sheep, Matthew 18: “If a man owns 100 sheep and one of them wanders off, will he not leave the 99 and look for the one who wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the 99 that did not wander off. In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.”
You may have heard the story about the farmer who hired a Japanese laborer. They were out in the field and the farmer said, “Hiro (that was his name), I need some supplies. Go get me some supplies.” And Hiro, “Uh, uh?” “I need some supplies. I can’t keep working without any supplies. Go get me some supplies.”
So Hiro takes off down the road and he’s gone for 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes. Finally, the farmer says to himself, “I’ve got to go look for this guy.” So he starts walking down the lane. He comes to the first tree and Hiro jumps out and goes, “Supplise!” That’s how I feel like it is today. “Supplise” that I’m here today.
“Saint Bede Is with You”
I’m back here in the Manhattan Center, the world-famous place where I met Sting. You know who Sting is? Sting’s a singer from my hometown, and I met him right here. We talked about all the hometown stuff – about different places, and especially we talked about our team. From a hometown, that’s what you talk about. I’m talking about true football, you know. So actually I’m not really fond of the city of Newcastle, where Sting is from. I’m from a little town outside Newcastle called Jarrow. I know. Gasp, right? “He’s from Jarrow.” Many people wish they were from Jarrow. Some people even lie about it. But I am from Jarrow. I really am.
And Jarrow is famous for one thing. It’s the home of Saint Bede. How many of you have heard of Saint Bede? Okay. The rest of you, you need to sign up for UTS and learn who Saint Bede is. Saint Bede is the only English-born saint, and he comes from my hometown.
I grew up in a totally nonreligious family. I never, ever went to church, not once before I met the Unification Church. But my next-door neighbor, her name was Mrs. Rogers, went to church every single morning at 6:00 a.m. She was a fanatic. I know in America you have Mr. Rogers, but we had Mrs. Rogers. I don’t know her first name, but she was Mrs. Rogers.
When I was 10 years old she told me, “Kevy, I’m praying for you.” And I thought, “What a waste of time.” And she kept telling me through the years, “Kevy, I’m praying for you.” So I can’t imagine how frustrated she was when I grew up to be an atheistic communist. And I thought, “Prayers don’t work, obviously.” I was a communist. I left my home in England.
In 1979 I went to Nicaragua because there was a communist revolution going on, and I thought, “That’s the place to be.” So I went to the communist revolution and I found out it was awful. It was a big disappointment, and I was wondering what to do next. I left Nicaragua and went to San Diego, where I met my spiritual father, Walter Frank.
I joined the Unification Church. After I was in the church for about three or four months, I went to a Christian church where there was a spiritualist lady. She came up to me out of the blue and said, “Saint Bede is with you.” And three or four times since then spiritual people have come to me and said, “Saint Bede is with you.” Now personally I’m physically open, so I have to take their word for it. But the message of that is, “Parents, never stop praying for your children.”
I’m here because of the prayers of Mrs. Rogers. I don’t have any merit personally, but actually she prayed in the church of Saint Bede every morning, not the old church, the new one, the one that was built in 791. You know, the new one? So she’s been praying in the church of St. Bede for me every day, a nonbeliever, and then people are telling me Saint Bede is with me.
So I’m telling you, parents, I don’t care how far your children are wandering. I don’t care how hopeless it looks. Do not stop praying for your children.
I have a message for your kids out there: You might as well give up now. If you’ve got somebody praying for you, it’s a lost cause. You might as well give up. And I don’t even care if you don’t believe in God, because it doesn’t matter. God believes in you.

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.”
You may have heard the story about the farmer who hired a Japanese laborer. They were out in the field and the farmer said, “Hiro (that was his name), I need some supplies. Go get me some supplies.” And Hiro, “Uh, uh?” “I need some supplies. I can’t keep working without any supplies. Go get me some supplies.”
So Hiro takes off down the road and he’s gone for 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes. Finally, the farmer says to himself, “I’ve got to go look for this guy.” So he starts walking down the lane. He comes to the first tree and Hiro jumps out and goes, “Supplise!” That’s how I feel like it is today. “Supplise” that I’m here today.
“Saint Bede Is with You”
I’m back here in the Manhattan Center, the world-famous place where I met Sting. You know who Sting is? Sting’s a singer from my hometown, and I met him right here. We talked about all the hometown stuff – about different places, and especially we talked about our team. From a hometown, that’s what you talk about. I’m talking about true football, you know. So actually I’m not really fond of the city of Newcastle, where Sting is from. I’m from a little town outside Newcastle called Jarrow. I know. Gasp, right? “He’s from Jarrow.” Many people wish they were from Jarrow. Some people even lie about it. But I am from Jarrow. I really am.
And Jarrow is famous for one thing. It’s the home of Saint Bede. How many of you have heard of Saint Bede? Okay. The rest of you, you need to sign up for UTS and learn who Saint Bede is. Saint Bede is the only English-born saint, and he comes from my hometown.
I grew up in a totally nonreligious family. I never, ever went to church, not once before I met the Unification Church. But my next-door neighbor, her name was Mrs. Rogers, went to church every single morning at 6:00 a.m. She was a fanatic. I know in America you have Mr. Rogers, but we had Mrs. Rogers. I don’t know her first name, but she was Mrs. Rogers.
When I was 10 years old she told me, “Kevy, I’m praying for you.” And I thought, “What a waste of time.” And she kept telling me through the years, “Kevy, I’m praying for you.” So I can’t imagine how frustrated she was when I grew up to be an atheistic communist. And I thought, “Prayers don’t work, obviously.” I was a communist. I left my home in England.
In 1979 I went to Nicaragua because there was a communist revolution going on, and I thought, “That’s the place to be.” So I went to the communist revolution and I found out it was awful. It was a big disappointment, and I was wondering what to do next. I left Nicaragua and went to San Diego, where I met my spiritual father, Walter Frank.
I joined the Unification Church. After I was in the church for about three or four months, I went to a Christian church where there was a spiritualist lady. She came up to me out of the blue and said, “Saint Bede is with you.” And three or four times since then spiritual people have come to me and said, “Saint Bede is with you.” Now personally I’m physically open, so I have to take their word for it. But the message of that is, “Parents, never stop praying for your children.”
I’m here because of the prayers of Mrs. Rogers. I don’t have any merit personally, but actually she prayed in the church of Saint Bede every morning, not the old church, the new one, the one that was built in 791. You know, the new one? So she’s been praying in the church of St. Bede for me every day, a nonbeliever, and then people are telling me Saint Bede is with me.
So I’m telling you, parents, I don’t care how far your children are wandering. I don’t care how hopeless it looks. Do not stop praying for your children.
I have a message for your kids out there: You might as well give up now. If you’ve got somebody praying for you, it’s a lost cause. You might as well give up. And I don’t even care if you don’t believe in God, because it doesn’t matter. God believes in you.

It's a very big fluffy bun."
Today we may be seeing a new ad with gringos holding a Taco Bell taco saying, "where's the beef?"
An Alabama law firm is suing Taco Bell, saying that they are falsely advertising 'beef' products.
The meat mixture sold by Taco Bell restaurants contains binders and extenders and does not meet the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to be labeled as “beef”, according to the legal complaint. Attorney Dee Miles said attorneys had Taco Bell’s “meat mixture” tested and found it contained less that 35 percent beef.
The question I want to look at over the next few weeks involves our belief in Jesus Christ, and who we believe Him to be. The question we must ask ourselves is how much of the real Jesus do you have to have to be a true born again Christ follower. I believe that some Christians are following only 35% or 50% of the real Jesus.
In other words, I am hoping you will take an honest look at your life and see if you believe in the real Jesus Christ, and if so, does your life reflect the real Jesus? We are going to lift the bun on our lives and hopefully none of us is going to say, "Where's the real Jesus?"
THE REAL JESUS WILL JUDGE US:
And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. Acts 10:42
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5:10
While many of us believe we follow the real Jesus, the Scriptures say that many of us are being fooled. We are following a Jesus of our own making, taken from parts of the Real Jesus. The important question is does Jesus know me? Because if He does not, no matter how much good you do for Him, He will declare to you, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:23
It does not mean you violated God's Law, it means you want your own way; you were living and serving for your benefit. You thought Jesus would be happy with what you did, but you did not understand the real Jesus. You never gave your life to the real Jesus. You never even saw the real Jesus, so it is no wonder that He did not know you.
Let us go to the throne of grace.
PARTIAL OBEDIENCE IS A NO GO:
Now when the Pharisees gathered to him, with some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem, they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed. (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands, holding to the tradition of the elders, and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches.) And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?” And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “ ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)— then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.” Mark 7:1-13
Jesus was pointing out that the proof of real worship is your obedience in your everyday lives. Anyone can go to church, anyone can be baptized, but to Jesus, the proof of your Christianity is the change in your heart that produces obedient action.
The Pharisees obeyed God, but if they had to choose between obeying God and their convenience of profit, they would overrule the command of God with some fabricated tradition or false practice. The one example given regards the command to honor your father and mother.
With Jesus, words are not enough, and a show of obedience is not enough.
Look what Ezekiel experienced:
