Space

Space is the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction. Physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of a boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime. The concept of space is considered to be of fundamental importance to an understanding of the physical universe. However, disagreement continues between philosophers over whether it is itself an entity, a relationship between entities, or part of a conceptual framework.

Space station

A space station, also known as an orbital station or an orbital space station, is a spacecraft capable of supporting a crew, which is designed to remain in space (most commonly as an artificial satellite in low Earth orbit) for an extended period of time and for other spacecraft to dock. A space station is distinguished from other spacecraft used for human spaceflight by lack of major propulsion or landing systems. Instead, other vehicles transport people and cargo to and from the station. As of September 2014 two space stations are in orbit: the International Space Station, which is permanently manned, and China's Tiangong-1 (which successfully launched on September 29, 2011), which is unmanned most of the time. Previous stations include the Almaz and Salyut series, Skylab and most recently Mir.

Today's space stations are research platforms, used to study the effects of long-term space flight on the human body as well as to provide platforms for greater number and length of scientific studies than available on other space vehicles. Each crew member staying aboard the station for weeks or months, but rarely more than a year. Most of the time crew remain at station but its not necessary that crew should have to be stay at station. Since the ill-fated flight of Soyuz 11 to Salyut 1, all manned spaceflight duration records have been set aboard space stations. The duration record for a single spaceflight is 437.7 days, set by Valeriy Polyakov aboard Mir from 1994 to 1995. As of 2013, three astronauts have completed single missions of over a year, all aboard Mir.

International Space Station

The International Space Station (ISS) is a space station, or a habitable artificial satellite, in low Earth orbit. Its first component launched into orbit in 1998, and the ISS is now the largest artificial body in orbit and can often be seen with the naked eye from Earth. The ISS consists of pressurised modules, external trusses, solar arrays, and other components. ISS components have been launched by Russian Proton and Soyuz rockets as well as American Space Shuttles.

The ISS serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which crew members conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology, and other fields. The station is suited for the testing of spacecraft systems and equipment required for missions to the Moon and Mars. The ISS maintains an orbit with an altitude of between 330 and 435 km (205 and 270 mi) by means of reboost manoeuvres using the engines of the Zvezda module or visiting spacecraft. It completes 15.54 orbits per day.

Thanks To is a Korean-language EP by South Korean rock band F.T. Island, released on 23 September, 2013 by FNC Entertainment. Several of the songs were composed by the band members.Memory reached first place on Taiwanese Qmusic Chart, while the EP itself was placed first on the G-MUSIC weekly chart, with a 28,84% share among Asian releases. The band first played the songs from Thanks To during their FTHX concerts in Seoul on 28 and 29 September, drawing an audience of 6,000.

Satoshi Kon

Satoshi Kon (今敏, Kon Satoshi, October 12, 1963 – August 24, 2010) was a Japanese film director, animator, screenwriter and manga artist from Kushiro, Hokkaidō and a member of the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA). He was a graduate of the Graphic Design department of the Musashino Art University. He is sometimes credited as "Yoshihero Wanibuchi" (鰐淵良宏, Wanibuchi Yoshihiro) in the credits of Paranoia Agent. He was the younger brother of guitarist and studio musician Tsuyoshi Kon.

Biography

Early life

Satoshi Kon was born on October 12, 1963. Due to his father's job transfer, Kon's education from the fourth elementary grade up to the second middle school grade was based in Sapporo. Kon was a classmate and close friend of manga artist Seihō Takizawa. While attending Hokkaido Kushiro Koryo High School, Kon aspired to become an animator. His favorite works were Space Battleship Yamato (1974), Heidi, Girl of the Alps (1974), Future Boy Conan (1978) and Mobile Suit Gundam (1979), as well as Katsuhiro Otomo's Domu: A Child's Dream.Yasutaka Tsutsui served as an influence on Kon's drawings. Kon graduated from the Graphic Design course of the Musashino Art University in 1982. During that time, Kon viewed numerous foreign films and enthusiastically read Yasutaka Tsutsui's books.

Acho que todo mundo aqui conhece o famoso sinal WOW! Bem, para quem não conhece, em 1977, astrônomos estavam procurando por vida alienígena, usando uma antena em Ohio, quando um sinal muito forte foi registrado e o operador da antena escreveu do lado do sinal, a palavra Wow! O sinal com duração de 72 segundos veio da constelação de Sagittarius e não se ajustava a nenhum objeto conhecido. Pronto, receita perfeita, um sinal, ouvido por uma antena na Terra, forte, e que não se ajusta a nada, só pode ser o contato com uma civilização extraterrestre. E por assim ficou, mas, como a ciência não desiste, não acredita, apenas pesquisa, 40 anos depois esse mistério foi resolvido. O Professor Antonio Paris gastou um ano da sua vida investigando o problema. Ele usou registro celestes e descobriu que dois cometas desconhecidos passavam pela Terra no dia 15 de Agosto de 1977, o dia do registro do Wow! Esses cometas foram descobertos em 2006 e no ano passado o Professor Paris disse que a nuvem de gás hidrogênio que envolvia o cometa poderia ter gerado o sinal. Mas os cientistas precisaram esperar até esse ano para poder provar. Agora, em 2017, quando os cometas passaram pela Terra, o sinal registrado foi idêntico ao Wow! registrado em 1977. O Professor Paris mostrou que a nuvem de hidrogênio que envolve o cometa à medida que a luz do Sol derrete o gelo na superfície do cometa se estende por milhões de quilômetros ao redor do cometa, e emite uma intensa radiação, radiação essa que geraria o sinal igual ao Wow! O cometa, ou melhor um par de cometas que pode ter causado esse sinal. Os cometas são o 266P/Christensen e o P/2008 Y2 (Gibbs), eles estavam passando perto da Terra na direção da estrela Chi Sagittarii. Esses cometas não haviam sido detectados até o ano de 2006, e agora os estudos mostram que eles foram os responsáveis pelo sinal Wow! E aí, alguém ficou decepcionado? Deixem aí nos comentários.
