Eighty-year-old Werner Freund would rather be a wolf than a man. He's been raising and living with wild wolves in Germany for the last 30 years and considers them his family. Last January, Gersin Paya from VICE Germany and a small crew drove to the town of Merzig to meet Werner and help him feed raw deer meat to his furry brethren.

Here are the Top 10 Facts about Wolves you would love to see.
1. Wolves are renowned because of their Spine-tingling howl that can be heard from miles around. Magical yet Frightening.
2. It is rumored that wolves howl at moon which is wrong. In order for howl to be effective & high-pitched, a wolf has to bend the neck upward. They tend to howl more at night because they are nocturnal.
3. Wolf Packs are established according to a highly organized and strict hierarchy. Average Pack size is 6 to 8 Wolves with a dominant leader ‘Alpha Male’ at the Top. He make the decisions and is responsible to all the wolves in the Pack. He’s leads the Hunt and usually eat first.
4. Wolves are highly territorial animals and typically hunt within territories, ranging from 50 to 1,000 square miles. They establish territories far larger than they require to survive
5. Approximately 1/3 of the life of a wolf will be spend moving around their territory and thus known to roam large distances. So much so that they may travel 50 miles or more each day in search of food.
6. The territory is marked out accurately by urine, droppings, scratches and sound calls and is defended actively against trespassing wolves.
7. They hunt as a group which make it possible for them to hunt down animals much larger themselves, such as elk, deer or moose and can eat 20 pounds of meat in a single meal
8. Wolves can smell other animals several kilometers away & from the smell they can tell if other wolves were in the territory. This is because Wolves have about 200 million scent cells as compare to Humans who have only about 5 million.
9.Wolves have several ways to stay warm in cold weather. They have a very heavy double coat of fur which allow them to survive in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius.
10. After the last wolf was killed in Yellowstone National Park in 1926, a wolf reintroduction program was implemented in 1995. A couple lived with the wolf pack for 6 years in Idaho to create a documentary and named the pack ‘Sawtooth’ The program is considered to be a great success—the wolves are reproducing at a rapid rate, and there are currently around 100 wolves in the park.

Gray wolf
The gray wolf or grey wolf (Canis lupus), also known as the timber wolf or western wolf, is a canid native to the wilderness and remote areas of North America and Eurasia. It is the largest extant member of its family, with males averaging 43–45 kg (95–99 lb), and females 36–38.5 kg (79–85 lb). Like the red wolf, it is distinguished from other Canis species by its larger size and less pointed features, particularly on the ears and muzzle. Its winter fur is long and bushy, and predominantly a mottled gray in color, although nearly pure white, red, or brown to black also occur.As of 2005, 37 subspecies of C. lupus are recognised by MSW3.
The gray wolf is the second most specialised member of the genus Canis, after the Ethiopian wolf, as demonstrated by its morphological adaptations to hunting large prey, its more gregarious nature, and its highly advanced expressive behavior. It is nonetheless closely related enough to smaller Canis species, such as the eastern wolf,coyote and golden jackal to produce fertile hybrids. Its closest relative is the domestic dog, with which it shared a common European ancestor which likely diverged 40,000 years ago. It is the only species of Canis to have a range encompassing both the Old and New Worlds, and originated in Eurasia during the Pleistocene, colonizing North America on at least three separate occasions during the Rancholabrean. It is a social animal, travelling in nuclear families consisting of a mated pair, accompanied by the pair's adult offspring. The gray wolf is typically an apex predator throughout its range, with only humans and tigers posing a serious threat to it. It feeds primarily on large ungulates, though it also eats smaller animals, livestock, carrion, and garbage.

Kanye West
Kanye Omari West (/ˈkɑːnjeɪ/; born June 8, 1977) is an American recording artist, record producer, fashion designer and entrepreneur. Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park (Arapaho: Henihco'oo or Héetíhco'oo) is a national park located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, although it also extends into Montana and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone, the first National Park in the U.S. and widely held to be the first national park in the world, is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most popular features in the park. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.
Native Americans have lived in the Yellowstone region for at least 11,000 years. Aside from visits by mountain men during the early-to-mid-19th century, organized exploration did not begin until the late 1860s. Management of the park originally fell under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior. However, the U.S. Army was subsequently commissioned to oversee management of Yellowstone for a 30-year period between 1886 and 1916. In 1917, administration of the park was transferred to the National Park Service, which had been created the previous year. Hundreds of structures have been built and are protected for their architectural and historical significance, and researchers have examined more than 1,000 archaeological sites.

Balto II: Wolf Quest is a 2002 American direct-to-DVDsequel to Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment' 1995 animated film Balto.
Plot
Balto and his mate Jenna have a new family of six puppies. Five of their puppies look like their husky mother, while one pup named Aleu takes her looks from her wolfdog father. When they all reach eight weeks old, all of the other pups are adopted to new homes, but no one wants Aleu due to her wild animal looks. Soon, she stays with her father. A year later, after she is almost killed by a hunter, Balto tells Aleu the truth about her wolf heritage. In anger and sadness, she runs away, hoping to find her place in the world. Balto then goes out to find her.
At the same time, Balto has been struggling with strange dreams of a raven and a pack of wolves, and he cannot understand their meaning. While traveling to find Aleu, he hopes he'll find answers. He meets with mysterious creatures, like a cunning red fox, an intimidating trio of wolverines that taunt him, the same guiding raven from his dreams, and a furious grizzly bear that suddenly disappears.

Here are the Top 10 Facts about Wolves you would love to see. 1. Wolves are renowned because of their Spine-tingling howl that can be heard from miles around. Magical yet Frightening. 2. It is rumored that wolves howl at moon which is wrong. In order for howl to be effective & high-pitched, a wolf has to bend the neck upward. They tend to howl more at night because they are nocturnal. 3. Wolf Packs are established according to a highly organized and strict hierarchy. Average Pack size is 6 to 8 Wolves with a dominant leader ‘Alpha Male’ at the Top. He make the decisions and is responsible to all the wolves in the Pack. He’s leads the Hunt and usually eat first. 4. Wolves are highly territorial animals and typically hunt within territories, ranging from 50 to 1,000 square miles. They establish territories far larger than they require to survive 5. Approximately 1/3 of the life of a wolf will be spend moving around their territory and thus known to roam large distances. So much so that they may travel 50 miles or more each day in search of food. 6. The territory is marked out accurately by urine, droppings, scratches and sound calls and is defended actively against trespassing wolves. 7. They hunt as a group which make it possible for them to hunt down animals much larger themselves, such as elk, deer or moose and can eat 20 pounds of meat in a single meal 8. Wolves can smell other animals several kilometers away & from the smell they can tell if other wolves were in the territory. This is because Wolves have about 200 million scent cells as compare to Humans who have only about 5 million. 9.Wolves have several ways to stay warm in cold weather. They have a very heavy double coat of fur which allow them to survive in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius. 10. After the last wolf was killed in Yellowstone National Park in 1926, a wolf reintroduction program was implemented in 1995. A couple lived with the wolf pack for 6 years in Idaho to create a documentary and named the pack ‘Sawtooth’ The program is considered to be a great success—the wolves are reproducing at a rapid rate, and there are currently around 100 wolves in the park. When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable "trophic cascade" occurred. What is a trophic cascade and how exactly do wolves change rivers? George Monbiot explains in this movie remix.

Last January, Gersin Paya from VICE Germany and a small crew drove to the town of Merzig to meet Werner and help him feed raw deer meat to his furry brethren.

Here are the Top 10 Facts about Wolves you would love to see.
1. Wolves are renowned because of their Spine-tingling howl that can be heard from miles around. Magical yet Frightening.
2. It is rumored that wolves howl at moon which is wrong. In order for howl to be effective & high-pitched, a wolf has to bend the neck upward. They tend to howl more at night because they are nocturnal.
3. Wolf Packs are established according to a highly organized and strict hierarchy. Average Pack size is 6 to 8 Wolves with a dominant leader ‘Alpha Male’ at the Top. He make the decisions and is responsible to all the wolves in the Pack. He’s leads the Hunt and usually eat first.
4. Wolves are highly territorial animals and typically hunt within territories, ranging from 50 to 1,000 square miles. They establish territories far larger than they require to survive
5. Approximately 1/3 of the life of a wolf will be spend moving around their territory and thus known to roam large distances. So much so that they may travel 50 miles or more each day in search of food.
6. The territory is marked out accurately by urine, droppings, scratches and sound calls and is defended actively against trespassing wolves.
7. They hunt as a group which make it possible for them to hunt down animals much larger themselves, such as elk, deer or moose and can eat 20 pounds of meat in a single meal
8. Wolves can smell other animals several kilometers away & from the smell they can tell if other wolves were in the territory. This is because Wolves have about 200 million scent cells as compare to Humans who have only about 5 million.
9.Wolves have several ways to stay warm in cold weather. They have a very heavy double coat of fur which allow them to survive in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius.
10. After the last wolf was killed in Yellowstone National Park in 1926, a wolf reintroduction program was implemented in 1995. A couple lived with the wolf pack for 6 years in Idaho to create a documentary and named the pack ‘Sawtooth’ The program is considered to be a great success—the wolves are reproducing at a rapid rate, and there are currently around 100 wolves in the park.
