James Timothy "Tim" Daly (born March 1, 1956) is an American actor, director, and producer. He is best known for his role as Joe Hackett on the NBC sitcom Wings and his voice role as Clark Kent/Superman in Superman: The Animated Series, as well as his recurring role as the drug-addicted screenwriter J.T. Dolan on The Sopranos (for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award). He starred as Pete Wilder on Private Practice from 2007 to 2012. Daly is currently portraying Henry McCord, husband of the titular secretary, on the CBS drama Madam Secretary.
Daly was born in New York City, the only son and youngest of four children of actors James and Mary Hope (née Newell) Daly. He is the younger brother of actress Tyne Daly. He has two other sisters, Mary Glynn (wife of Mark Snow) and Pegeen Michael. Daly attended The Putney School, where he started to study acting.
Daly began his professional career while a student at Vermont's Bennington College, where he studied theatre and literature, in which he now holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, and acted in summer stock. He graduated from college in 1979, and returned to New York to continue studying acting and singing.

My favorite TV movie of all time. It is based on the novel of the same name by James Lipton. It's really the only project he has worked on, in terms of narrative fiction. I love how it captures the true 1980's Broadway gypsy lifestyle. I searched for the film version forever, and finally got it on VHS and converted it. I just want MORE people to watch it. It stars Timothy Daly, Shanna Reed, Marguerite Hickey, Nicholas Gunn, Antony Hamilton, Signe Hasso, Ron Field, and Keenan Wynn. Choreographed by Graciela Daniele. Directed by Harry Winer.

The CBS hit drama “Madam Secretary” is in its second season and is Sunday’s most-watched scripted series on broadcast TV, averaging more than 12 million viewers. Tim Daly stars as Henry McCord, a professor and husband of the secretary of state, played by Téa Leon. Daly joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the series, his families both on and off the screen and his real-life friendship with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
Actor Tim Daly says the writers of “Madam Secretary” seem to have a crystal ball because they write scripts that sometimes end up happening in real-life. Daly says he ran into Bill Clinton during the 2016 Democratic National Convention, and the former president said that while he’s also been the husband of the secretary of state, “I want to do some of that spy stuff that you do!” » Subscribe to TODAY: http://on.today.com/SubscribeToTODAY » Watch the latest from TODAY: http://bit.ly/LatestTODAY About: TODAY brings you the latest headlines and expert tips on money, health and parenting. You look best when you're drivingOn the freeway my motor
car is speeding.
Carelessness within your eyes,
Will not heed the engine light's warning, warning.
On roads young girls are learning
To drive automobiles.
Most people just wear me out,
But I feel differently towards you.
I like you when you're driving,
And the future is speeding towards you, towards you.
On roads young girls are learning
