Paul Michael Slayton (born March 11, 1981), better known by his stage name Paul Wall, is an American rapper. He is affiliated with Swishahouse Records. He has released several albums under the label and collaborating with other rappers signed to the label. He was musical partners with rapper Chamillionaire with whom he released several albums including the independently released Get Ya Mind Correct. In 2005, he was signed to Atlantic Records and became successful with his major-label debut The Peoples Champ. Get Money, Stay True followed in 2007.
Wall attended Jersey Village High School and studied mass communications at the University of Houston for three years. After proposing to do promotions for Michael "5000" Watts' company, Swishahouse, Chamillionaire and Paul Wall came to Watts' studio, KBXX. Paul and Chamillionaire convinced Watts to let them rap on his radio show and put the verses on one of his mixtapes. That mixtape was titled Choppin Em Up Part 2, which was released in mid-1999. The freestyle became so popular in the streets that Chamillionaire and Paul Wall became regular staples on Houston's mixtape circuit, appeared on several of Watts' mixtapes and became permanent members of Swishahouse.
William Leonard Roberts II (born January 28, 1976), better known by his stage name Rick Ross, is an American rapper and entrepreneur.
In 2009, Ross founded the record label Maybach Music Group, on which he released his studio albums Deeper Than Rap (2009), Teflon Don (2010), God Forgives, I Don't (2012), Mastermind, Hood Billionaire (2014) and Black Market (2015). Ross was also the first artist signed to Diddy's management company Ciroc Entertainment. In early 2012, MTV named Ross as the Hottest MC in the Game.
William Leonard Roberts II was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and raised in Carol City, Florida. After graduating from Miami Carol City Senior High School, he attended the historically black college Albany State University on a football scholarship. Roberts worked as a correctional officer for 18 months from December 1995, until his resignation in June 1997.
In his early years at Suave House Records, Roberts initially made his debut under the pseudonym Teflon Da Don. He made his recording debut on the song "Ain't Shhh to Discuss" on Erick Sermon's lone album for DreamWorks, Def Squad Presents Erick Onasis. In the mid-2000s, he changed his name to Rick Ross. He derived his stage name from the former drug kingpin "Freeway" Rick Ross, to whom he has no connection.
Joseph Antonio Cartagena (born August 19, 1970), better known by his stage name Fat Joe, is an American rapper. He is also the CEO of Terror Squad Entertainment, and member of musical groups D.I.T.C. and Terror Squad.
Fat Joe's debut album was Represent, released in 1993, followed by Jealous One's Envy in 1995. From 1998 to 2006, he was signed to Atlantic Records, releasing four albums under the label, Don Cartagena in 1998, Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.) in 2001, Loyalty in 2002, and All or Nothing in 2005. Around the release of All or Nothing, Fat Joe became involved in a highly publicized feud with another New York City-based rapper 50 Cent, who attacked Fat Joe in his song "Piggy Bank". His most popular song in which he performed was his Remy Ma duet "Lean Back" with Terror Squad. The song was a number-one hit in the summer of 2004.
Starting in 2006, when his album Me, Myself, & I was released, Fat Joe was signed to Imperial Records, which distributes through Terror Squad Entertainment. His follow up album was The Elephant in the Room, which was released in 2008; Jealous Ones Still Envy 2 (J.O.S.E. 2), the sequel to Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.), was released in October 2009. His tenth album The Darkside Vol. 1 was released on July 27, 2010.
"Holla at Me" is the first single from DJ Khaled's debut album, Listennn... the Album, featuring Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, Fat Joe, Rick Ross and Pitbull. The song was produced by Cool & Dre, while sampling Afrika Bambaataa & the Soulsonic Force's "Looking for the Perfect Beat." The song has peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart in June 2006.
Jim Jones, Birdman, Slim Thug, Dre, Remy Ma, Trina, Trick Daddy, DJ Drama, Scott Storch, DJ Clue, Cool & Dre, DJ Felli Fel, and DMX make cameo appearances in the video.
"Holla at Me" debuted and peaked at number 59 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week of June 24, 2006. It stayed on the chart for four weeks.
Christopher Maurice "Chris" Brown (born May 5, 1989) is an American singer, dancer, rapper and actor. Born in Tappahannock, Virginia, he was involved in his church choir and several local talent shows from a young age. Having signed with Jive Records in 2004, Brown released his self-titled debut studio album the following year. It peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). With his first single "Run It!" peaking atop the US Billboard Hot 100, Brown became the first male artist as a lead since Diddy in 1997 to have his debut single top the chart. His second album Exclusive (2007) spawned his second Hot 100 number one "Kiss Kiss", in addition to "With You" and "Forever". The album was also certified double platinum by the RIAA.
In 2009, Brown received much media attention after pleading guilty to felony assault of his then girlfriend, singer Rihanna; he was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. His third album Graffiti was released later that year, and included the top-twenty single "I Can Transform Ya". Brown's fourth album F.A.M.E. (2011) became his first to top the Billboard 200; it spawned the successful singles "Yeah 3x", "Look at Me Now", and "Beautiful People". F.A.M.E. earned Brown his first Grammy Award for Best R&B Album at the 54th Grammy Awards. His fifth album Fortune was released in 2012. However, after the release of Exclusive, Brown's albums have not been well received commercially or by music critics, with the exception of X, which received a normalized rating of 63. Brown's seventh studio album Royalty was released on December 18, 2015.

About the project: November, the 9th, 1999. The fall of the Berlin Wall set the seal on the end of the Iron Curtain, a fence some 7 thousand chilometres that split Europe in two spheres of influence. A division that lasted from the end of World War II to the end of the Cold War. How did the lives of those who grew up along this ideological and political border change? How did the dreams of the boys who jumped on the Wall to celebrate a regained freedom end up? After twenty years from the historical date, four editorial staff - Peacereporter journalist agency, Matteo Scanni, movie director, Becco Giallo comic Editor and Prospekt Photojournalist agency - have decided to travel along the former Iron Curtain border and to tell what it was. Two teams provided by videocamera, photocamera, audi...

Babylone - U.S.A. Curated by Daniel S. Palmer Selected works from Pratt Institute's Fine Arts MFA Candidates. Organized by the Pratt Artists' League and the Fine Arts Department. French singer Colette Magny wrote “Babylone - U.S.A.” in 1972, but its subject is more relevant than ever. This powerful song embodies its tumultuous political moment, especially the widespread call for resistance against a totalitarian, fascist political regime. The architectural metaphor on which it is based – the collapse of a hubristic Babylon establishment status quo – evokes the cracks that may have begun to appear recently in the systems of power that dominated the twentieth century. Yet, the troubling inequities of race, gender, and class remain pervasive, with continued repression and control presenting ...
The Eurasian Odeyssey begins in China when a dozen motorcyclists set out from Shanghai to ride across the largest landmass on the planet. They head north through the densely populated cites of China, crossing the Great Wall and doing battle with the elements, mechanical breakdowns and non-existent roads. Crossing the border from Inner Mongolia into Russia, they head west across the vast Siberian Taiga, riding thousands of miles across eight Russia time zones, the expanses covered with endless forest, scattered with isolated pockets of people hardened from the harsh conditions. Russia's Ural Mountains serve as the gateway into Europe and the Black Sea, and a fascinating pit stop at the remote Ural motorcycle factory in Irbit. Through the green rolling hills and post-Soviet shadows of the U...

http://www.vladtv.com - Growing up, rapper Paul Wall was taught to coexist with others, regardless of their race. Although southern states have proven to be more pro-Confederate than others, Wall says he doesn't see too much of that in Houston. "In Texas there's definitely some racism there, but me personally, I feel the greatest amount of racism when I travel with my [Black] wife to the East Coast. Certain other areas, man, it's way worse than Texas," says the father of two biracial children. Paul Wall also commented on his friend Yelawolf's choice to incorporate the Confederate flag into his outfits. "It means something different for him than what it means to a lot of other people," Paul explains. "And I ain't mad at him for representing that, I mean I ain't mad at him for standing up f...

If you live in NYC and spend time in Soho and the Lower East Side, you might have noticed the drip paintings of faces sporadically placed on the streets there. Those are the work of Paul Richard, a brilliant and intriguing street artist who initially I knew nothing about but have now come to greatly admire. At first, I thought that the artist behind these works was a young, rebellious individual tagging his home turf -- I mean, you have to have some nerve to do that right? Well, I decided to find out. After a bit of research, I came up with the name Paul Richard... I even found his website. So, I emailed him asking if he would meet with me for an interview. It took a couple of months for us to connect, but once we did, he invited me to come over his studio in Greenpoint. By this point, I ...
Paul Huxley: ‘I have more fun making sculpture than making paintings, but I’ve made paintings all my life’ The artist talks about his career, from visiting Robert Motherwell and Lee Krasner in New York in the 1960s, to his wall drawings for the Azerbaijan pavilion at the 2015 Venice Biennale, to his new work for a forthcoming show in Santa Fé, his first solo exhibition in the US for nearly 40 years. Trained at Harrow College of Art and the Royal Academy Schools in the 1950s, Paul Huxley (b1938) grew up immersed in American culture and art. The US was then still an expensive destination, to which few people travelled, and Huxley smiles as he remembers how unreal it all felt. Then, in 1964, he won a Stuyvesant travel award and found himself in New York, with the then curator of the Whitech...
Tony Howard is a British climbing legend. In 1965 he was part of the team that made the first British ascent of the Troll Wall in Norway. He later went on to found Troll Climbing Equipment with Alan Waterhouse and was soon joined by Paul Seddon, manufacturing chocks and other climbing equipment, but it was with Don Whillans that Troll really made its name: together they designed the world's first climbing sit harness which Whillans used on the 1972 Annapurna expedition. This was later developed further with the addition of a belay loop in the Mk5 harness, and modern day harness design is largely unchanged from this Mk5 concept. Tony has spent his life travelling the world seeking out adventures, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. In this rare interview he talks about how he got i...

Since its humble beginnings in a Brooklyn bunker in 1994, WordSound has distinguished itself as a unique and exceptional creative enterprise. Despite releasing 65 albums of uncompromising originality, diversity, and power, they remain far below the radar, even in our information age where the internet exposes everything. In 2004, WordSound celebrated a decade as a Mighty Unseen Force in music with the DVD release of WS50: The Video Album, featuring The Greatest Thing You Never Heard, a “Dub”-umentary. This film, like the label, is difficult to pin down. It’s as much a personal journey seen through the eyes of Skiz Fernando as it is a musical tribute to different styles and approaches. The other night at a pub in a tiny little village in central Turkey, I overheard the word “CouchSurfing” among a group of people on the edge of the dance floor. As is my habit whenever I hear folks talking about CouchSurfing, I go over and introduce myself. I am quickly acquainted with some of the most fun-loving, inspiring chaps I have had the pleasure of meeting in my travels. Paul Archer, Leigh Purnell, and Johno Ellison: three British lads on a mission to raise £20,000 for the British Red Cross while breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest taxi journey, breaking 30,000 mile expedition from London to Sydney. The following day, my friend and fellow CouchSurfer, Peggy Fok, and I met up with them for an interview to got the low-down on this amazing project "It’s on the Meter" al...
Since its humble beginnings in a Brooklyn bunker in 1994, WordSound has distinguished itself as a unique and exceptional creative enterprise. Despite releasing 65 albums of uncompromising originality, diversity, and power. they remain far below the radar, even in our information age where the internet exposes everything. (Niggas out there jelous cuz we be bailin' with Death Row
They try to playa hate
but they can't fade us tho'
We be mobbin' through tha neigborhood
Yeah
with that funky sound (so funky)
we be throwin' down)
(Tupac)
This goes out to you playa
you know...you know who you are
Chorus
Gotta be careful, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
So when ya see me nigga
Ya better Holla at me
Gotta be carefull, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
So when ya see me nigga
Ya better Holla at me
Gotta be carefull, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
So when ya see me nigga
Ya better Holla at me
Are you confused
You wonder how it feels to walk a mile inside tha shoes
of a nigga who don't have a thing to loose
When me and you was homies
no one informed me it was all a scheme
You infiltrated my team and sold a niggas dreams
how could you do me like that
I took ya family in
I put some cash in ya pocket
made you a man again
and now you let tha fear put your ass in a place
complicated to escape
It's a fools fate
without your word
your a shell of a man
I lost respect for you nigga
we can never be friends
I know i'm runnin' through your head now
what could you do
If it was up to you
i'd be dead now
I let tha world know nigga you a coward
You could never be live
until you die
see tha mothafucken bitch in your eye
Type of Nigga, that let tha evil of tha money trap me
when ya see me nigga
ya better holla at me (holla at me)
can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
So when ya see me nigga
Ya better Holla at me
Chorus
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
So I gotta be carefull, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
so when ya see me nigga
ya better holla at me
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
curious
spittin' lyrics
on tha verge of furious
i'm addicted to currency
nigga that's why we're doin this
I got shot up, I surprised tha niggas tha way I got up
and then
I hit the studio
It's time to blow tha block up
No hesitation
this information got you contemplatin'
heartbreakin' and eliminatin' with this conversation
break him
and let him see tha face of a mental patient
it's a celebration
of my criminal elevation
with the participation
I want members across tha fifty states
to keep tha nation anticipatin' until we break
will I be great, is it my fate
to live tha life of luxury
some niggas bought my tapes
so much jelousy it scares me
so be prepared
cause only tha strong survive
life isn't fair (fair)
probably never knew tha way it feels to die
so you figure fuck with me
I give that ass a try
Nigga, Holla at me
Chorus
Gotta be Carefull, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
so when ya see me nigga
ya better Holla at me
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
And now I gotta be carefull can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
So when ya see me Nigga
You better Holla at me
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
(Ohhhhhh....)
I shoulda saw tha signs
I was blinded
criminal minds of a young black brotha doin' time
so many brothas framed in this dirty game
it's a shame
so much pressure on my brain
while she blame me
Secrets in tha dark
only her and I know
now i'm sitten' in tha state pen
doin time for slow
guess she made a bad decision
that got me livin'
just like an animal
i'm caged up in state prison
my niggas dissin'
cause
hell have no fury like a woman scorn
A cemetary full of mothafuckers got not knowin'
picture my prophecy
tha cops are attacking me, on top of me
i'm runnin' from tha coppers
but never let'em stop me
cause i'm a soulja
hell, ever since I was a little nigga havin' fantasies
of one day getting older
Niggas is paranoid
trust
a no no
love is a mystery
Fuck tha po po,
Holla at me.....
So when you see me nigga
you better holla at me...
Chorus
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
Gotta be carefull, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
so when ya see me nigga
you better holla at me
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
Now I gotta be carefull, can't let tha evil of tha money trap me
so when you see me nigga
you better holla at me
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
(Niggas out there jelous cuz we be bailin' with Death Row

so when you see me nigga
you better holla at me
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
gotta be carefull, can't let tha
evil of tha money trap me
so when you see me nigga
you better holla at me
(You better beware where you lay
We better not find where you stay)
(Ohhhhhhhh, heeeeyyy, ohhhhh nooo noooo noooooo)
