Natalie Imbruglia

Natalie Jane Imbruglia (/ɪmˈbruːliə/; Italian: [imˈbruʎʎa]; born 4 February 1975) is an Australian singer-songwriter, model and actress. In the early 1990s, she played Beth Brennan in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Three years after leaving the programme, she began a singing career with her hit cover of Ednaswap's song "Torn".

Her subsequent album, Left of the Middle (1997), sold 7 million copies worldwide. Further releases, White Lilies Island (2001) and Counting Down the Days (2005), did not sell as well, although the latter became number one in the UK. In 2007 she made Glorious: The Singles 97–07, a hits compilation featuring the single "Glorious", which peaked at 23 in the UK singles chart. Since 1997 Imbruglia has sold 10 million album copies.

She co-starred in the 2003 film Johnny English and was leading actress in the 2009 film Closed for Winter.

On 3 December 2014, Imbruglia announced plans to release a newly recorded album of songs originally performed by male artists. The album, Male, her first since 2009's Come To Life, was released in July 2015, and will be followed by an album of original material.

History

Known for sporting vintage military clothing, using a telephone to sing into while performing, and utilizing an old reel-to-reel named Irene for backing tracks, all creating a unique show experience for even the most seasoned concert attendee. Army green and red roses, similar to their debut album cover, is a visual staple during their live performances.

In 2008, Bad Veins won the first ever Target Music Maker Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Their self-titled debut album was released on July 21, 2009. The first single off the album was "Gold and Warm," which was used on Good Morning America’s "Your Three Words" segment on February 27, 2010. Dan Harris, an ABC News correspondent, named the debut the 7th best album of 2009 on ABC’s Amplified blog, calling it "criminally overlooked" and "utterly fantastic." The USA Today blog Pop Candy named the last track on the album, "Go Home" one of the Top 20 Songs of 2009.

Gretsch Drums

Gretsch Drums is a drum kit manufacturing company, based in Oxnard, California. The company is part of The Gretsch Company range of musical instruments from its founding in 1883. Gretsch drums kits have been used by many notable drummers, including Gene Krupa and Phil Collins.

History

Gretsch was founded by Friedrich Gretsch, a German immigrant who opened his own musical instrument business based in Brooklyn, New York in 1883. After Friedrich's sudden death in 1895, his enterprising son, Fred Gretsch Jr., took over the business as a teenager. He expanded the business, moving it to a new ten-story building at 60 Broadway Street.

Fred Gretsch Jr. handed over the family business to his son, Fred Gretsch III, after retiring in 1942. Soon after taking over, Fred III left to serve in WWII as a Navy commander, leaving the business in the hands of his younger brother, William "Bill" Gretsch. Bill Gretsch died in 1948 and the company was again run by Fred III.

Audio-Technica Corporation (株式会社オーディオテクニカ, Kabushiki-gaisha Ōdio Tekunika), is a Japanese company that designs and manufactures professional wired and wireless microphones, headphones, phonographic magnetic cartridges, and other audio equipment.

Company history

Audio-Technica was established in 1962 in Tokyo, Japan by Hideo Matsushita as a phonograph cartridge manufacturer. Its first products were the AT-1 and the AT-3 MM stereo phono cartridges. Business rapidly developed and Audio-Technica expanded into other fields.

In 2008, the company celebrated the 20th anniversary of supplying microphones for US Presidential Debates. For their 50th anniversary, Audio-Technica celebrated at Consumer Electronics Show 2012, debuting their AT-LP1240-USB USB DJ Turntable and ATH-CKS55i. Their booth also featured a dubstep dance video, "Audio 911", by dancer Marquese "Nonstop" Scott produced by video production company The DVI Group
