Against All (Czech: Proti všem) is a 1956 Czechoslovak drama film directed by Otakar Vávra.
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.

Emerging from Brooklyn, East New York, Moses Lloyd Santana has had a passion for music since birth (November 26, 1994). Though he would normally be found nodding his head and stomping his feet to all forms of music, it was Hip-Hop and Rap that really caught his attention. At just the age of 7 the young up and coming artist who titled himself “Moe Money” was surprising everyone around him, from his teachers at school, to his friends in the neighborhood, with his advanced lyrical wordplay. Since then he has had nothing but time to develop into the Hip-Hop, rap loving, up and coming artist that he is today. Whether its performing at his high schoo (Aspirations Diploma Plus HS) talent shows or just rapping in cyphers with his friends, Moe Money always puts his all into his music. He devote...

Grammy-nominated composer-pianist Vijay Iyer was described by Pitchfork as "one of the most interesting and vital young pianists in jazz today," by the Los Angeles Weekly as “a boundless and deeply important young star,” and by Minnesota Public Radio as “an American treasure.” He has been voted DownBeat Magazine's Artist of the Year three times - in 2016, 2015 and 2012. Iyer was named Downbeat’s 2014 Pianist of the Year, a 2013 MacArthur Fellow, and a 2012 Doris Duke Performing Artist. In 2014 he began a permanent appointment as the Franklin D. and Florence Rosenblatt Professor of the Arts in the Department of Music at Harvard University. In March 2012, I traveled to New York City with 8 Norwegian students from Bjørnholt Skole in Oslo, Norway. Their goal was to experience the "dark side" of life in NYC by working at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, gay & lesbian center for youth and providing dignity to everyone they met in NYC. We spent most of days in Manhattan and the Bronx. The results...well, watch the videos taken in the evening after they had spent the day with people in need. It is moving to see how these 8 young people mature and come to an understanding about life that many adults have yet to understand or experience. This day was very emotional. We met a student called George who changes all of us. He has the best grades in his school but his only option in life is to go to the military. He works 3 jobs,...

Against All Odds perform at the Toledo Music Fest at the Mainstreet Bar. First show with our new vocalist Caleb.
Based on the best selling autobiography by Irish expat Frank McCourt, Angela's Ashes follows the experiences of young Frankie and his family as they try against all odds to escape the poverty endemic in the slums of pre-war Limerick. The film opens http://adf.ly/1jFoFg with the family in Brooklyn, but following the death of one of Frankie's siblings, they return home, only to find the situation there even worse. Prejudice against Frankie's Northern Irish father makes his search for employment in the Republic difficult despite his having fought for the IRA, and when he does find money, he spends the money on drink.
How can I just let you walk away, just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath with you, ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all
How can you just walk away from me,
when all I can do is watch you leave
Cos we've shared the laughter and the pain and even shared the tears
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now, cos there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me,
just the memory of your face
Just take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds and that's what I've got to face.
I wish I could just make you turn around,
turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you,
so many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me, just the memory of your face
Just take a look at me now, cos there's just an empty space
But to wait for you, that's all I can do and that's what I've got to face
Just take a look at me now, cos I'll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against all odds
It's a chance I've got to take.
