The hemispheric long wave pattern has been relatively fast moving in recent weeks. There are five main troughs. Currently the most significant troughs are near the longitudes of South Africa, Western Australia, the south Pacific, the southeast Pacific, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Summary:
Over southern and eastern Australia the cold front events with potential to bring widespread rain are now expected about 21 June to 25 June, 27 June to 1 July, and 6 July to 10 July. Rain events originating in the tropics and moving south are possible about 28 June to 2 July. Over Western Australia the strongest cold fronts should occur about 4 July to 8 July, 8 July to 12 July, and 12 July to 16 July.
