Anuradha (अनुराधा; English: Love of Anuradha) is a 1960 Hindi-language film produced and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film stars Balraj Sahni, Leela Naidu in lead roles along with Asit Sen and Mukri. The film is noted for being Miss India Naidu's debut film.
The film's music was composed by Pandit Ravi Shankar, in one of his rare forays into Hindi cinema. The film was based on a short story written by Sachin Bhowmick, first published in the Bengali monthly magazine Desh and according to his autobiography, it was inspired by Madame Bovary, a novel by Gustave Flaubert.
The film went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 11th Berlin International Film Festival in 1961.
Plot:-
Anuradha Roy (Leela Naidu), a noted radio singer, dancer and daughter of a rich man, falls in love with an idealistic doctor, Dr. Nirmal Chowdhary (Balraj Sahni). She decides to marry him against her father's will. Nirmal, whose mother died of illness, has decided to serve the poor in the distant village of Nandagaon. He asks Anuradha to not follow the hardships his life has but to live the life her father plans. But she still insists to follow her love. She rejects the wedding proposal set by her father with the London-returned Deepak (Abhi Bhattacharya). Deepak wishes her well and promises her to help in future if she ever needs any.
After the marriage and a daughter, Anuradha realizes the gravity of the choice of living in a village. Taking care of the family, doing all household chores she quits singing, the singing that once was her life. After many years one day her father comes home to visit them and reconcile. Seeing her poor condition her father asks them to come and stay in the city with him. But due to his patients Nirmal rejects the offer and promises to move after sometime.
Deepak while travelling with his girlfriend meets a car accident and is hence rushed to Dr. Nirmal. Nirmal does successful plastic surgery on his girlfriend. Deepak gets to stay with Anuradha for some days and realizes her hardships. He requests her to leave Nirmal and move to city and pursue her passion for music. It is then she has to decide between her love for husband and music. The clinching moment is when Dr. Nirmal concedes to her desire to leave him and restart her life in the city. At this point she asks him: "Can't you ask me to stay back?", and then decides to stay back with her husband.

"BOOT POLISH" tells a human story of two children who earned their living by polishing shoes in the streets of Bombay.
BHOLA, an innocent boy of ten and his younger sister BELU aged seven were two destitute children belonging to a slum area in Bombay. They were well trained in the art of begging by a woman of dubious morals KAMLA CHACHI a distant relative who had provided the kids with sleeping space in her delapidated shack. The constant abuses,bickerings and beatings from Kamla Chachi had made the lives of these kids a veritable hell.
Their only ray of hope was the neighbor, JOHN an old eccentric boot legger with a sharp tongue but a golden heart. John's simple words "Starve, die, but don't beg. Do something with your two hands" - inspired the kids to stop begging and start the work of polishing boots.
Bhola had observed Chitku a bootblack from the slums earn money in a dignified way by shining shoes. The idea of shining shoes fascinated him so much he resolved to become a bootblack.

Raj Kapoor
Ranbir Raj Kapoor (14 December 1924 – 2 June 1988), also known as "The Show Man", was a noted Indian film actor, producer and director of Hindi cinema. He was the winner of 2 National Film Awards and 11 Filmfare Awards in India, and a two-time nominee for the Palme d'Or grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his films Awaara (1951) and Boot Polish (1954). His performance in Awaara was ranked as one of the top ten greatest performances of all time by Time magazine. His films attracted worldwide audiences, particularly in Asia and Europe. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 1971 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1987 for his contributions towards Indian cinema. He was called the Clark Gable of the Indian film industry.
Early life and background
Raj Kapoor was born in Dhakki Munawwar Shah near Qissa Khwani in Peshawar, (then) India (modern day North Pakistan) into a Hindu Punjabi family to Prithviraj Kapoor and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor. He was the eldest of six children in the family. He was the grandson of Dewan Basheshwarnath Kapoor and great-grandson of Dewan Keshavmal Kapoor, part of the famous Kapoor family. His brothers are actors Shashi Kapoor and the late Shammi Kapoor. He also had a sister named Urmila Sial. Two other siblings died in infancy. They later on moved from Peshawar into present-day India for residence and for education.

Shree 420
Shree 420 (translation: Mr. 420, also transliterated as Shri 420) is a 1955 Bollywood film directed, produced by and starring Raj Kapoor and Nargis. The number 420 refers to Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, which prescribes the punishment for the offence of cheating; hence, "Mr. 420" is a derogatory term for a cheat. The film centers on Raj, a poor but educated orphan who comes to Bombay with dreams of success. Kapoor's character is heavily influenced by Charlie Chaplin's "little tramp", much like Kapoor's character in his 1951 Awaara. It was written by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, and the music was composed by the team of Shankar Jaikishan. The lyrics were penned by Shailendra.
Shree 420 was the highest grossing film of 1955, and the song "Mera Joota Hai Japani" ("My Shoes are Japanese"), sung by Mukesh, became popular and a patriotic symbol of the newly independent India.
Plot
A country boy, Raj (Raj Kapoor), from Allahabad, travels to the big city, Bombay, by walking, to earn a living. He falls in love with the poor but virtuous Vidya (Nargis), but is soon seduced by the riches of a freewheeling and unethical lifestyle presented to him by an unscrupulous and dishonest businessman, Seth Sonachand Dharmanand (Nemo) and the sultry temptress Maya (Nadira). He eventually becomes a confidence trickster, or "420," who even cheats in card gambling. Vidya tries hard to make Raj a good man but fails.

Anokhi Ada is a 1973 Bollywood Action film produced & directed by Kundan Kumar on Kundan Films banner. The film stars Jeetendra, Rekha, Vinod Khanna in lead roles and music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
Plot
Two business partners, Lalaji and Gupta, are also very close friends, and expect their friendship to turn into relationship when their children, Rakesh and Neeta respectively get married. Things appear to be going according to plan, but change abruptly when a young man named Gopal is rescued from drowning and brought into the Lalaji household to recuperate. Gopal does recuperate and in order to repay his gratitude he offers to be employed by Lalaji in their business. Then Rakesh is killed by falling off a cliff; Gopal assumes control of the business; Lalaji and Gupta's friendship breaks up; he woos Neeta; and brings a look-alike of Rakesh - a hoodlum named Kishan - who is out for only one thing - that is to take over the wealth of the two businessmen - by hook or by crook.

Mera Joota Hai Japani (Hindi: मेरा जूता है जापानी; Urdu: میرا جوتا ہے جاپانى ALA-LC: Merā Jūtā hai Jāpānī IPA: [meːrɑː d͡ʒuːt̪ɑː hɛː d͡ʒɑːpɑːniː] lit. My Shoes are Japanese) is a Hindi song with music by Shankar Jaikishan and lyrics by Shailendra, written for the 1955 Bollywood film Shree 420. It was performed by popular Bollywood star Raj Kapoor, though actually sung by playback singer Mukesh.
In the song, the narrator asserts their pride in being Indian, despite their clothes all being from other countries. The chorus runs:
Due to its patriotic themes, the song was widely embraced in its time as a representation of the newly sovereign nation of India. As India was gaining its status as a sovereign democratic republic, this song depicted the casting off of the colonialist yoke and the recognition of the internationalist aim of uniting to make India and the world a better place.
This song gained international fame, particularly in the Soviet Union.

Lata Mangeshkar (
pronunciation ) (born 28 September 1929) is an Indian playback singer, and occasional music-composer. She is one of the best-known and most respected playback singers in India. Mangeshkar's career started in 1942 and has spanned over seven decades. She has recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages, though primarily in Marathi and Hindi. She is the elder sister of singers Asha Bhosle, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Mangeshkar. She is the second vocalist, after M. S. Subbulakshmi, to have ever been awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
India's highest award in cinema the Dadasaheb Phalke Award was bestowed her in 1989 by the Government of India.

Anuradha (अनुराधा; English: Love of Anuradha) is a 1960 Hindi-language film produced and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film stars Balraj Sahni, Leela Naidu in lead roles along with Asit Sen and Mukri. The film is noted for being Miss India Naidu's debut film. The film's music was composed by Pandit Ravi Shankar, in one of his rare forays into Hindi cinema. The film was based on a short story written by Sachin Bhowmick, first published in the Bengali monthly magazine Desh and according to his autobiography, it was inspired by Madame Bovary, a novel by Gustave Flaubert. The film went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 11th Berlin International Film Festival in 1961. Plot:- Anuradha Roy (Leela Naidu), a noted radio singer, dancer and daughter of a rich man, falls in love with an idealistic doctor, Dr. Nirmal Chowdhary (Balraj Sahni). She decides to marry him against her father's will. Nirmal, whose mother died of illness, has decided to serve the poor in the distant village of Nandagaon. He asks Anuradha to not follow the hardships his life has but to live the life her father plans. But she still insists to follow her love. She rejects the wedding proposal set by her father with the London-returned Deepak (Abhi Bhattacharya). Deepak wishes her well and promises her to help in future if she ever needs any. After the marriage and a daughter, Anuradha realizes the gravity of the choice of living in a village. Taking care of the family, doing all household chores she quits singing, the singing that once was her life. After many years one day her father comes home to visit them and reconcile. Seeing her poor condition her father asks them to come and stay in the city with him. But due to his patients Nirmal rejects the offer and promises to move after sometime. Deepak while travelling with his girlfriend meets a car accident and is hence rushed to Dr. Nirmal. Nirmal does successful plastic surgery on his girlfriend. Deepak gets to stay with Anuradha for some days and realizes her hardships. He requests her to leave Nirmal and move to city and pursue her passion for music. It is then she has to decide between her love for husband and music. The clinching moment is when Dr. Nirmal concedes to her desire to leave him and restart her life in the city. At this point she asks him: "Can't you ask me to stay back?", and then decides to stay back with her husband. BHOLA, an innocent boy of ten and his younger sister BELU aged seven were two destitute children belonging to a slum area in Bombay. They were well trained in the art of begging by a woman of dubious morals KAMLA CHACHI a distant relative who had provided the kids with sleeping space in her delapidated shack. The constant abuses,bickerings and beatings from Kamla Chachi had made the lives of these kids a veritable hell. Their only ray of hope was the neighbor, JOHN an old eccentric boot legger with a sharp tongue but a golden heart. John's simple words "Starve, die, but don't beg. Do something with your two hands" - inspired the kids to stop begging and start the work of polishing boots. Bhola had observed Chitku a bootblack from the slums earn money in a dignified way by shining shoes. The idea of shining shoes fascinated him so much he resolved to become a bootblack. -

Anuradha (अनुराधा; English: Love of Anuradha) is a 1960 Hindi-language film produced and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film stars Balraj Sahni, Leela Naidu in lead roles along with Asit Sen and Mukri. The film is noted for being Miss India Naidu's debut film.
The film's music was composed by Pandit Ravi Shankar, in one of his rare forays into Hindi cinema. The film was based on a short story written by Sachin Bhowmick, first published in the Bengali monthly magazine Desh and according to his autobiography, it was inspired by Madame Bovary, a novel by Gustave Flaubert.
The film went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 11th Berlin International Film Festival in 1961.
Plot:-
Anuradha Roy (Leela Naidu), a noted radio singer, dancer and daughter of a rich man, falls in love with an idealistic doctor, Dr. Nirmal Chowdhary (Balraj Sahni). She decides to marry him against her father's will. Nirmal, whose mother died of illness, has decided to serve the poor in the distant village of Nandagaon. He asks Anuradha to not follow the hardships his life has but to live the life her father plans. But she still insists to follow her love. She rejects the wedding proposal set by her father with the London-returned Deepak (Abhi Bhattacharya). Deepak wishes her well and promises her to help in future if she ever needs any.
After the marriage and a daughter, Anuradha realizes the gravity of the choice of living in a village. Taking care of the family, doing all household chores she quits singing, the singing that once was her life. After many years one day her father comes home to visit them and reconcile. Seeing her poor condition her father asks them to come and stay in the city with him. But due to his patients Nirmal rejects the offer and promises to move after sometime.
Deepak while travelling with his girlfriend meets a car accident and is hence rushed to Dr. Nirmal. Nirmal does successful plastic surgery on his girlfriend. Deepak gets to stay with Anuradha for some days and realizes her hardships. He requests her to leave Nirmal and move to city and pursue her passion for music. It is then she has to decide between her love for husband and music. The clinching moment is when Dr. Nirmal concedes to her desire to leave him and restart her life in the city. At this point she asks him: "Can't you ask me to stay back?", and then decides to stay back with her husband.

"BOOT POLISH" tells a human story of two children who earned their living by polishing shoes in the streets of Bombay.
BHOLA, an innocent boy of ten and his younger sister BELU aged seven were two destitute children belonging to a slum area in Bombay. They were well trained in the art of begging by a woman of dubious morals KAMLA CHACHI a distant relative who had provided the kids with sleeping space in her delapidated shack. The constant abuses,bickerings and beatings from Kamla Chachi had made the lives of these kids a veritable hell.
Their only ray of hope was the neighbor, JOHN an old eccentric boot legger with a sharp tongue but a golden heart. John's simple words "Starve, die, but don't beg. Do something with your two hands" - inspired the kids to stop begging and start the work of polishing boots.
Bhola had observed Chitku a bootblack from the slums earn money in a dignified way by shining shoes. The idea of shining shoes fascinated him so much he resolved to become a bootblack.

Synopsis - Pyarelal (Raj Kapoor), a simple-minded and extremely naive young man, who was orphaned at birth, and now lives with Fatima (Lalita Pawar), a Muslim landlady who treats him like her son. Once, he sets on a journey and meets a young woman with whom he falls in love, Kamini Gupta (Saira Banu). Sarmoyadhar (Kamal Kapoor), the person who brought her up happens to be Pyarelal's real father. All of a sudden, Pyarelal is arrested on the charge of murder. No one believes that a harmless man like him could commit a crime, let alone kill. However, Pyarelal openly admits in court that he is indeed guilty, and demands capital punishment for it. The reason he does that unveild several secrets later on.

He dominated the Hindi film industry like a titan. For his fans he was Raju, the common man. He called himself a joker. And he made classics like Awara, Sangam, Mera Naam Joker and Bobby.
