In computer networking, the Name/Finger protocol and the Finger user information protocol are simple network protocols for the exchange of human-oriented status and user information.
The Name/Finger protocol, written by David Zimmerman, is based on Request for Comments document RFC 742 (December 1977) as an interface to the name and finger programs that provide status reports on a particular computer system or a particular person at network sites. The finger program was written in 1971 by Les Earnest who created the program to solve the need of users who wanted information on other users of the network. Information on who is logged-in was useful to check the availability of a person to meet. This was probably the earliest form of presence information for remote network users.
Prior to the finger program, the only way to get this information was with a who program that showed IDs and terminal line numbers (the server's internal number of the communication line, over which the user's terminal is connected) for logged-in users. Earnest named his program after the idea that people would run their fingers down the who list to find what they were looking for.
Project is the second collaborative studio album by guitarists Greg Howe and Richie Kotzen, released on November 11, 1997 through Shrapnel Records. A previous collaboration between Howe and Kotzen, Tilt (1995), had sold well and thus resulted in a second album.
The 6521 Project, sometimes called the "6521 Group," was the moniker given to a nationwide operation initiated by the Communist Party of China in 2009 to ensure “social stability” by cracking down on potential dissidents during anniversaries of political significance. The digits in the campaign’s name are a reference to the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 50th anniversary of the 1959 Tibetan uprising, the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests, and the 10th anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong.
The 6521 Project was initiated as a top-level committee by the Communist Party, and was reportedly headed by Xi Jinping, current General Secretary of the Communist Party of China.
Under the campaign, all provinces and municipalities were required to establish temporary 6521 taskforces under the local Communist Party and Public Security leadership. Authorities at the township and county levels were also required to implement the 6521 project, reporting on their progress to municipal or provincial taskforces above them.
Geist ("spirit") is a German term used in philosophy, in particular by Hegel.

Geist is the surname of:
Geist is an area in northeastern Indianapolis, Indiana (in Lawrence Township) and southeastern Hamilton County. It is named for Geist Reservoir.
In January 2007, the town of Fishers proposed annexing Geist. The proposed annexation area included approximately 2,200 homes in an unincorporated area of Hamilton County. In 2008, Geist residents collected 1,700 signatures and filed suit to stop Fishers from annexing their homes into the Fishers tax base. The suit was turned over to Hamilton County Superior Court, and on December 31, 2008, the judge ruled that Fishers could annex 2,200 upscale homes surrounding Geist Reservoir. On January 20, 2009, Geist residents surprisingly announced they wouldn't appeal the judge's decision. For tax reasons, the annexation was not made official until January 2, 2010.
The waterfront amenities offered at Geist have made it a haven for athletes, politicians, socialites, and businessmen. Past and present residents have included Reggie Miller, Paul George, George Hill and Mitch Daniels. Some of whom are more infamous than famous such as Marcus Schrenker, and Tim Durham.
Geist (early working title: Fear, stylized as geist) is a video game for the Nintendo GameCube video game console, released on August 15, 2005, in North America, on October 7, 2005, in Europe, and on November 3, 2005, in Australia. The game was not released in Japan.
A prototype of the game was developed by n-Space, who approached Nintendo to be the game's publisher. Nintendo accepted, making Geist the second GameCube game published by Nintendo to receive an M-rating (the first being Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem). In the following years, Nintendo and n-Space worked closely on Geist. The game was first shown at the E3 2003 and was announced to be part of the GameCube's line-up for 2003. However, it was delayed multiple times, making it two years of delay for fine-tuning. During that time, the game's genre changed from first-person shooter to first-person action-adventure with second-person elements.
The Geist franchise is owned by Nintendo, due to their contract with n-Space.

The Berlin artist Philipp Geist (1976) works internationally as an artist with the mediums of video- / light installation, photography and painting. In 2014, during the Year of Germany in Brasil 2013/2014, he developed an interrelated video installation on the universally recognized statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro and projected it large-scale on the Santa Marta favela. On September 30 and October 1, 2014 and on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, he will implement a light art installation on the German Embassy in Prague and on the Bauhaus museum in Dessau in early September. This project was a University Project (2019). The process for this project was the striping of the original audio from the 'Geist' short animation. From there my group was tasked with recreating all foley, sound effects and Automated Dialog Replacement (ADR). Once recorded we mixed and mastered the audio before revealing it to our peer group. The original audio recreated version was mixed in 5.1 before sub-mixed down to stereo. Please Enjoy Disclaimer - I do not own any material used within the video.
